I've just watched the Anthology again over the past week or so. I find that I too enjoy the later stuff better, although John was extremely cute in the early years so I can't help but like stuff he sang like 'Twist & Shout'..
I've got tons of high quality bootleg stuff from the Beatles newsgroup. It's a shame that the bootleg Queen stuff is such poor quality in comparison.
Yeah, I love the Beatles. Sgt. Pepper, The White Album, Let It Be - they had some great albums. Their earlier stuff is enjoyable too. They are mostly trivial, but they have good hooks, and there is an occasional gem there too.
I LOVE the Beatles. Not a week I don't listen to one of their albums.
Rubber Soul is my fave, followed by Revolver.
Paul was definitely the cutest but I am a John Lennon admirer so he was my favourite.
And I have a strange preferance for the songs sung by Ringo, "What goes on", "Act Naturally"..... Awesome!
Brilliant. Did anyone see Macca at Glastonbury last night? I was a bit tipsy but he looked good to me, but why did the BBC cut to Basement Jaxx in the middle bit of Macca's set?
And did you see Zak Starkey drumming for Oasis on Friday night? He breathed new life into them. They should get him on board as soon as. I know he drums for The Who but they hardly play anymore.
I digress, Revolver is the best album followed closely by Rubber Soul.
LOVE THE BEATLES... MY 2ND FAV AFTER QUEEN.
I can see why so many people didn't like the psychadelic period of the Beatles. They were still great (perhaps even better than the earlier period) but some of those songs were just way too psychadelic and didn't sound like music at all. 'Revolution 9' for instance is a complete piece of shit, and it's nothing but a brown stain on 'The White Album'.
Nevertheless they Beatles were geniuses. They are the one who should be called KINGS OF ROCK N' ROLL and not Elvis.
The Beatles were my first favorite band only to be replaced by Queen. When I was around 7, for christmas I got a beatles compilation cd from 1962-1965 that i absolutely adored and loved. Abbey Road so far is my favorite album and every so often i like to listen to it while relaxing. Such a stellar band they are.

When you were 2???
When I was 2 I wanted to marry my dad.
But I went through this "wanting to marry Elvis"-phase too. I was about 7 or 8 and had seen the film telling his story and "fell in love" with him. Dunno if I fell in love with the actor who played Elvis or with the real Elvis though. I didn't care that he was dead.
