I just started to drive. I've been 17 since February but decided I wanted to drive late. Now I'm suffering because it's summer and I can't go anywhere without a parent in the front seat! Isn't that bad?! But good luck!
Good luck!
I remember when I had my driving test... I had a minor accident on the way to take it. Always a good start. I passed anyway! LOL
I never had formal lessons btw.. just dear old dad bitching at me. I haven't had a ticket in over 12 years too. Back then I had a bad week once right after my brother died and got 3 speeding tickets in one week.
So my best advice is to always keep your driving separate from your emotions. And learn to drive a manual transmission even if you don't have to, because it's more fun.. even though fun might be considered an emotion which should be kept separate from driving.
Like ever since that bad week I've not had problems even though I've experienced other deaths. Most recently one of my cats. There were a couple other cats before that, and even one which I didn't really get close to because she was kind of insane and went under my trailer and lived there for many months and wouldn't come out.
I assume she went out during the day or something but she was always there at night, crying. So I'd feed her but after awhile I began to feel really ripped off because here was this cat that wouldn't come to me and yet there I was feeding her every night.
So finally I went to the humane society and rented a trap and captured her that way, and took her in claiming she was a stray so I wouldn't have to pay anything to get rid of her. She was cute but psycho and I was happy to not have to feed her anymore.
After that I had my youngest die just a few months back and now it's just me and Carly. And she's getting pretty old so I foresee more heartbreak before too long.
So I'd say get a puppy instead.
When I was younger I always had dogs. They die too but on the whole seem to last longer. Hamsters are the worst. They seemed to die on me constantly. I had a particular favorite named Snuggles. I'm not sure he died naturally. He got out and my brother.. the one who died.. he had pet snakes and other stuff like tarantulas and lizards.. anyway, I always suspected maybe one of those got Snuggles.
So I guess my main advice to you would be to avoid getting any further pets at all. They're nothing but heartache waiting to happen.
But if you do decide to have hamsters, make sure your brother.. who will die too young... doesn't collect snakes and reptiles and stuff.
Good luck.
So how did it go?
I didn't learn to drive till I was 25 and I hate to prove my dad right, but I do wonder why I didn't do it before.
And I LOVE driving; the further the better and especially on motorways.
Have no fear!
Good luck! Try not to soil yourself whilst driving, the instructors do not like the smell of freshly soiled bloomers. Also, another word to the wise. When you come up to traffic signals, especially a green one, lock up the brakes, and sit there, gripping the wheel in the best "white knuckle" grip you can muster, and start sobbing uncontrolably. Stay there for at least one cycle of the light. After that, wait until it is just about to turn yellow, then GUN IT!!!
My dear Erica, you know full well you're on a one-way ticket to Flashmania.
You better hold on tight, toots, because you're in for one hell of a ride.
Don't forget to bring some booze.
I'm currently doing a home study drivers ed course. Quite boring really cause a lot of it is common sense. I hope you do well on your studies and get your license soon!
