Thank you. Honestly, we never thought anyone would come to the site. TOFBRA was created because we wanted to send an email to Jimmy May and sound official. To sound official you need an acronym. So the few of us thought of six words that described us and made and acronym from that. Then we made a website for fun, starting with the Freddie graphic. We'd only kept up a fanfic archive before that and were used to extremely low traffic. To our surprise, people came to TOFBRA. ANd now, thanks to BRian we've had 140 people come since he posted his feelings and pushed our count passed the 2000 mark. Thank you all for coming and we hope you enjoy TOFBRA as much as we did making it. We didn't expect anyone to come, and then Brian goes and lets us know that he went there and that it did what we expected it to do for anyone who happened upon the site: it provoked a reaction. Its a free world you can say and do almost anything you want on the net as I said before its not my cup of tea and its not very funny but each to there own! I think some of you didn't realise someone took a piss in your corn flakes this morning. We didn't spend hours copying his site design. We spent five minutes figuring out the dimensions. The part that took hours were the stories, content and graphics. As for Brian reading the fanfiction, that's pretty hot. AS for Freddie not using the words "arse bandit" he called the director of Breakthru a faggot because he gave him directions he didn't really feel like folowing--on camera. So, arse bandit may wwell have been in his vocab. Besides, Big Bummer was written by an authentic British person. Not everyone's cup of tea, and it can be pretty offensive. We warned you. Brian's legs really don't look good in shorts, it's a shame. He had such nice legs. He should shave. As for his marrying Anita, it must be his eyesight going. But I can imagine that there are some people that don't like it. Well not everbody likes the same book either, so I you don't like it, shut it down and never visit it again. Thank you for your opinions;) As for how much traffic weve gained, the site averaged 20 hits a day (which surprised me). Since Brian posted his complaint early yesterday morning we've had 427 hits, and it's been a little over a day. And, according to a post above, we've gained a fan. I think this backfired, personally. I was thinking about this and it strikes me as odd that Brian's complaints were about design and not the content... And I'm confused as to what he's refering to when he says we ripped off "some of [his] little inventions." This is going too far, really. It's a parody and Brian's being pissy. Jimmy May even took the link to TOFBRA off his site yesterday. That seems petty, as does the us getting kicked off of both the BrianMay and WeWillRockYou Yahoo groups with no notification of this, or even a reason why. It's stupid. I can't even visit my own site any more. I'll update in a week or so, instead of to-morrow, because it hardly seems good to update when the people who actually want to go are being shut out by all the people who are going just to see what pissed Brian off this time. Actually, I understand that Brian is angry. Maybe even hurt. I did not read much of the website but I looked at "Big Bummer" and you don't need to be oversensitive to be offended if you are presented as a ridiculous cartoon character and the joke is mostly on your wife and your marriage. You think Brian has to swallow it because he is rich and famous and it's not the first time it happened but compared to the offense he really did not say that much. Personally, I think that Brian should not comment on his soap box when he is offended by a website but of course he has every right to do so. I fully understand he felt offended. Although it may be true that Anita is far from being attractive and Brian looks silly in shorts, I don't think it's fair to write such things on a web site. Last time I looked I thought that the site may have been amusing to some but was not necessarily to my taste, fair enough. Except after reading YV's comments about Big Bummer I agree with her on that one - I understand that it's trying to be funny but there's a fine line between parody and utter unfairness. Particularly with the Julie jab in Ep 1. Mind you, the man was still a fool to advertise the site and I still don't think his "Bad Fans" comment was entirely justified. And I still maintain that putting fatty in there was a master stroke :-) |

I guess if the TOFBRA people paid Brian to allow them to make fun of him then it'd be ok? Now I am not sure if Brian has any say or thinks it is ok for William Hung to "sing" and profit off of WATC or not. But I can't help but to think that if he didn't want it to happen, it wouldn't happen. Or at the very least there'd be a comment on his soapbox displaying his disappointment in Hung covering and profiting off the song. It is on Hung's album that he is selling right? There is a huge difference between the cover of a song and making your private life a public joke. A song is only a song but your marriage is personal and close to your heart. Brian did not say that the TOFBRA people are "bad fans" he said who has fans like these does not need enemies and I have to agree. I am sure it was not very "smart" of Brian to respond to the website on his soap box but I can fully understand that he is hurt and angry about some people who think it's their god given right to write fiction about real peoples' lives and turn it into a cheap soap opera. If I were Brian's son I would remove the link, too and if I were Jen I would kick it off my list, too. They are friends and family of Brian and it's only natural that they protect his feelings. If they see a wound, they will keep trying to draw blood. But..(I have a lot of buts) I don't think that just bc Brian is in a spotlighted position that he doesn't have feelings nor the right not to express his feelings. So you see that I am middle of the road. Booooring huh? I see the right of the TOFBRA people to say what they want on a computer screen and I also see how it could/has affected Brian.
