Axl Rose said that if it wasn't for Queen he'd never started to do music or something like that. And there's a Queen link on Eminem's website so I suppose that he likes them or it is supposed to be joke... you never know with Eminem... Robbie Williams loves Queen. Oh, and Happy Birthday!! |
The Black Queen 12.06.2004 15:35 |

"Axl Rose said that if it wasn't for Queen he'd never started to do music or something like that." I saw that on the Freddie Mercury Tribute DVD thing where he said something similiar. But do you really think we can believe him? I mean, the guy's taking 10 years to put out one album and people keep saying that it'll be out soon. Yeah, okay. [/tangent] |

Queenrocks: i think Josue was puzzled with the nature of your posts... your age simply confirmed why. |

that bald comedian who appears on Never mind the buzzcocks... oh also mel smith (British comedian, smith and jones who introduced queen at Live-aid) |

Max Cavalera (ex-Sepultura singer) and now leader of Hardcore band Soulfly loves Queen. He decided to be a musician after seeing them live in Brazil in the 80's. Same story with Jeff Scott Soto, who discivered them with the Live Killers album. If you see him singing Queen songs, it sounds like Live Killers. Great influence on him. |

... I would assume that Scorpions (don't know their actual names) love Queen, they've covered them a lot. On a random note, every time I meet a celebrity, I ask them if they like Queen. So far I've not gotten anything positive, but I only meet arses anyway. |

Matt Lucas and David Walliams (of 'Little Britain' fame) |

He can still like Queen even if he doesn't take his own work too seriously. |

José Luis Felix Chilavert, paraguayan soccer goolkeeper, winner of the Intercontinental Cup in the middle of the 90's, and elected best goolkeeper of the world time ago loves Queen |

"Harry Connick Jr : huge Queen fan & collector. He plays sometimes Jazz to the audience before the concert begin." - Is that really true Moxie? I've never heard that before, and I'm a pretty big Harry fan. That truly would be random if he is in fact a fellow Queen fan. I've never known any bona-fide jazzers to be Queen fans, and to me that would be about the ultimate compliment they could get as a band, having a musical genius like Harry still loving them. |

-Dave Grohl -Taylor Hawkins -Billy Corgan -Chris Cornell -Peter Buck -Eddie Vedder -Stone Gossard -Mike McCready (with Gossard, did the funniest cover of Bo Rhap I've ever heard.) -Actually, make that just about every grunge rocker currently alive or dead. -Andrew Wood (RIP - on his deathbed, asked his friends to play ANATO for him. Was the last album he ever heard.) -Thom Yorke (wanted to be Brian May from age eight onward.) -Fred Durst (kill me now...) -Stephen King -Gibby Haynes -Actually, make that every underground rocker from the 80s, alive or dead. See? They're not that underappreciated :) |

Saw QUEEN 18 times, in the early days a crowd of us used to meet up at concerts. One of those was the one and only GARY NUMAN. CHEERS IVAN |
[StArMaN] 14.06.2004 14:21 |
this is from connick.com : review of Sandiego show '96 : "The lights went down and the audience erupted in cheers. We had all been waiting patiently, listening to the Jazz album by Queen (Harry's favorite Queen album) and the moment finally arrived. He strutted out on stage in a way only Harry can do, and the audience was his." Another quote from him : "It's just like I would have liked to have seen Led Zeppelin live or Queen. The 1940s have no special meaning to me." |
Sicmot 14.06.2004 16:05 |

Cheers Neil/Moxie. That's good to know. I wish he'd release an album of Queen songs jazzed up in his New Orleans or Big Band style. Hard to do, but I'm sure he could pull it off. |

i have a funny comment on Katie Melua. the biggest selling newspaper in sweden link ..said something like this about her: "She is probably the worst thing produced in Georgia since Josef Stalin" I´ll drink to that! |
Stoney 14.06.2004 22:00 |
and i would probably put Harry Connick Jr in the same category as katie...."when harry meet sally" Queen are waaaay more skilled then Harry....and that Contemporary jazz that he plays..is booooring....Oh boy i wonder what Miles thought about queen... |

I knew who all of them were too Mandy... Though I despise Limp Bizkit with the burning passion of 1000 suns. Do we get some sort of prize for being extra astute? If so, I would like my weight in Reese's cups please! ;D |

Garth Brooks is a Queen fan... I'm sure you all knew that but still. Who else.....ummmm........ I'm willing to bet tons of celebrities at least have Greatest Hits in their CD collection :-) C'mon, how many people do you know who don't want to borrow it from you? My friends (they swear they're not Queen fans) BEG to borrow it. But, like Brian with his Red Special, I'm very protective of my stuff. |

Mike Myers loves Queen, and needless to say he likes 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. |
chancelloramethyst 16.06.2004 00:42 |
Here's a question for you all: With all these celebs who do like Queen, who DOESN'T like them? That may be easier. Then again, they've got fans for that. -TOFBRA |
adina 17.06.2004 21:16 |
You wouldn't know this one, but he's a Spanish soap opera actor: Gustavo Bermudez? And btw - The Darkness members don't just "listen" to Queen. Haven't you noticed some funny stuff in their videos? :D |
Whatinthewhatthe? 17.06.2004 21:31 |
I think more celebrities like Queen than they say they do. They probably have one or two CDs in their music collections, and wouldn't be afraid to admit they love their music. Garth Brooks (who's he? LOL) doesn't live in Tennessee anymore and he's more or less gone from the music scene. No new music in YEARS. What a loss to country music! *snicker* Another unlikely Queen fan: Dolly Parton! I remember reading in a Good Housekeeping magazine several years ago that she admired Freddie as a performer. It was an article about (what else?) her roots in music and she said rock and roll was an early influence (Elvis, no doubt). Classy lady! |
