Fantastic stuff by Adam Steen. MJK requested his We Will Rock YOu be taken down. Apparently he has sent through some other files that are much better. Richard |
Josuè 08.06.2004 06:04 |
Is it me or I read "Doin' Aright"? |
Virtuoso 08.06.2004 07:16 |
Breathless,I must say.You did a very nice job Adam(Steen).IMO,it's far way better than anything in "The Stage Of Champions",no offense people.I'm quite sure everybody's going to agree with me. |
Virtuoso 08.06.2004 07:17 |
And yeah, the song is "Doin' Alright". |
Hitman 08.06.2004 07:39 |
GREAT GREAT GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this Doing all right!! you have a "Queen" voice guy!And the guitar part is very well done! :O *standing ovation* |
Adam Baboolal 08.06.2004 08:08 |
Excellent! At last, someone who cares about quality. Sorry, but it's true. But if I have just one gripe it's that the vocals are too AutoT'ed. Btw, how come there was that weird (low) distortion over the piano? Peace, Adam. |

AMAZING! great job, many many compliments! |
Penis - Vagina 08.06.2004 08:30 |
Very nice. One of the best so far. Is this the same Adam Steen from Minnesota, the baseball player? BTW, Richard, you can edit the subject line just as you can a message, in case you didn't know :) |
Daburcor? 08.06.2004 08:49 |
Wow! Very nice!!! * now really wishes he had access to decent recording equipment...* |
FriedChicken 08.06.2004 11:12 |
Good vocals, too bad he used a midi file for the piano, bass and drums |
kweenqueen 08.06.2004 11:21 |
Glad you seem to like it! I recorded it on my old computer (P2 233 MHz) and used about 30 channels of audio so I had to use the midi file as background or my computer would've choked. I'm sorry if it sounds to compressed, but I wasn't so familiar with the recording software at the time. It's recorded with Sonar for those of you who know what I'm talking about. However I've changed to Cubase SX 2.0 now. //Adam Steen |
FriedChicken 08.06.2004 11:26 |
keep up the good work Adam! |
RainMustFall 08.06.2004 15:58 |
I like Doin' Alright's cover of "Adam Steen." |

Got a wee techy question for you KweenQ. I'm hesitant about moving from CubaseSX 1.03 to v2. I hear version 2 is better and it certainly seems looks it. But I took a little run over the interface and plenty has changed with the use of mixing things. To be honest, I got a little lost. Not a good sign when I've never had that feeling with previous versions. Even the VST ones. Whadya think? Did you have some misgivings about moving from v1 to v2. Or did you start on v2? I might see if I can demo it on another machine, first. Peace, Adam. |
Farlander 08.06.2004 22:21 |
Sounds fabulous. Tell me, what kind of microphone did you use for the vocals? And how did you record the guitars? |
Richard Orchard 09.06.2004 02:04 |
Hi, I have changed the title there. IE remembered a previous posting for me. Luckily for us, there are two more songs from Adam. Fantastic! Richard |

I have to agree. the mixer feels a bit confusing. Hopefully it's because I'm not used to it. Anyway, it's to late to have any regrets now.... //Adam |

Farlander wrote: "Tell me, what kind of microphone did you use for the vocals? And how did you record the guitars?" ------------------------------------------------------ Actually, I did used an old Shure SM58 for that. But I have changed to a better microphone now. (JJlabs BMC C08) Regarding guitars, I use a Vox AC15 Cambridge amplifier. Gibson Les Paul and of course Burns "Red Special" (not on "Doin' Alright" though, I didn't own it at the time). I also use some amplifier simulators like Revalver and a lot of other things. Cheers, Adam Maby we should start a new thread discussing recordings? Others may be bored to death... ;-) |
Daburcor? 09.06.2004 03:53 |
I for one have found this very interesting! I love reading this kind of technical stuff! |
Farlander 09.06.2004 04:06 |
Wow, I have an SM58 and it doesn't sound that good. Anyway, just one more thing - did you use the SM58 to mic your guitar amp or did you use a line out from some kind of simulator? |
kweenqueen 09.06.2004 04:20 |
"Anyway, just one more thing - did you use the SM58 to mic your guitar amp or did you use a line out from some kind of simulator? " ----------------------------------------------------------- Well, I used the line out on the Vox AC-15 and ReValver Vox AC-30 2x12' speaker simulator. If I remember right, that is... Oh, I often use AmpliTube as well. Great stuff. |
Sebastian 09.06.2004 05:38 |
Excellent vocals. Superb guitars. Amazing prodution. I just love it |
Adam Baboolal 09.06.2004 06:09 |
You're right about the discussion threads for recordings etc. I think this will suffice for now. I remember when there was a musician's forum and it was ok. Thanks for the info and answering all our questions. Peace, Adam. |
Bohardy 09.06.2004 06:24 |
When was there ever a musician's forum Adam? I've been here since about July 2000, and I don't ever remember one. |
Adam Baboolal 09.06.2004 09:10 |
Hmm...I remember a forum. Ah! Maybe it was from the pre-2k one. I think everyone moved here after that board went kablooey! Adam. |
iGSM 09.06.2004 09:25 |
I'm astounded. Too astouded actually. I like the interlude part the most..yeah, the interlude. |
inu-liger 09.06.2004 13:49 |
Excellent! I like the echo on the "I've got to hide away..." line before the guitar solo. And the guitar was excellent. Shame the MJK cover of WWRY was taken down. I quite liked it :P |
[StArMaN] 09.06.2004 15:04 |
cool job :) You just need a REAL drummer to improve it and make your cover really good :) |
deleted user 09.06.2004 17:24 |
FUCK ME! That is THE best one yet. Fab job! |
Mr Coolest Cat 10.06.2004 16:56 |
