Anyone know how many Queen/Solo subway posters were released to promote albums, singles, etc? I know there are probably a bunch, but I'm referring to those that specifically promote Queen/Solo product.
For instance, I have a huge Subway poster announcing the release of Heaven For Everyone. I also saw several for other singles like TMLWKY or Brian's BTTL. I assume that there were more released for GH3, the DVDs, or the Musical. Anyone have a link to more info or have some of your own? Were these a 1990s thing or were some Subway posters released for earlier Queen albums?
On a related note, I tried to have mine framed (since I always thought it was a cool pic), but it was too expensive. It now sits rolled up in my basement, waiting for me to make a lot of money.
I dunno.. I went there once for their A1 Steak N' Cheese sandwich and the fuckers didn't give me the A1 sauce so I've not been back to Subway since, and that was like 5 years ago.
But I don't recall anything Queen-related.
Yea, Seen one for Queen in Argentina in 1981, and one for A Kind of Magic as well and Innuendo
Also a poster about AKOM tour in UK, with the dates on bottom, and Knebworth added in red
London Underground is smothered in posters for WWRY! I saw one MASSIVE one that went along the whole of the platform, looked quite cool, Im still not going to see it though!
I used to have 60" x 40" of One Vision, Living On My Own (1985), MBADTK, and I still have The Great Pretender (1987), Power To Love and Why Don't We Try Again.
Plus loads of smaller ones.
I remember seeing big posters for Invisible Man, Breakthru, You Don't Fool Me & Scandal too, plus double size ones for Let Me Live & A Winter's Tale.
Yeah, Pim, that looks like what I'm talking about. As PG mentioned, they were 60" by 40" which I assume is about 1.2 meters by 1.8 meters.
I think their size makes them really neat, but also impossible to put up several of them. The HFE one that I have is double sized, meaning I could roof my house with it. Still, Living On My Own or Great Pretender would be cool. The only ones I actually saw were from the MIH-era and I never liked those pics as much as earlier Queen singles.

The mental image of a "Power To Love"-poster of that size causes serious drooling on my side.
G'Day to the Guru (and the others), by the way. It's been a while.
What did I miss ? Dark's apparently changed Manga-preferences...
Dunno if this is considered a subwayposter - link
about 1,8 meters x 1,2 meters I think.
Pim, looks like my room!
You had it at the end of Rog's 1998 Shepherd's Bush Empire gig don't you ?
In addition to the ones mentioned above I have a Brian Back To The Light in Rotterdam-poster, Another World-UK tour-subwayposter (AW-sleeve in Black and white plus lettering) and a Roger Electric Fire-Cyberbarn/World ecord-gig subway (EF-sleeve artwork... edit: Ah, yes the one in the link above...)). Plus several Magic-tour posters from several countries and, I don't have it myself, but I know there is a German The Works-tour subwayposter (Radio GaGa-pose picture with Black lettering on white).
I'm thinking of asking for the huge WWRY posters that they have outside the Burswood Dome (where WWRY is playing)...they're massive. Don't think I'd get it though, heh.

Indeed I did, Phil. I'm into Inu Yasha somewhat now, but my interests currently lie more in an older anime called Urusei Yatsura (Those Obnoxious Aliens), which I am slowly collecting as much as I can bit by bit. I'm not going to change my nick for a long time though.
And I still prefer if people nicknamed me Inu instead of Dark :P
