I've downloaded an .mpg file and when I try to play it,it says I need another software to play this kind of .mpeg-2 files,I installed a decoder as it says there but still I can't listen to it in Winamp,Media player,Quick Time,Kazaa Theatre and Real Player. If anyone knows how to solve it or any kind of help will be highly appreciatted.
And remember there's a difference between 'decoder' and 'codecs'. Codecs are usually the problem. I'm always having similar problems.
PowerDVD is great, even if you don't have a DVD drive. I use it to play VCDs and files in general.
I would suggest getting the latest DIVX bundle, but I'm not sure whether that's only for .avi files. Couldn't hurt to have though. link
Skip the versions listed in the chart (that free one has spyware) and look for 'Standard DivX Codec(FREE)' it also comes with a small player but will install the codecs for use with any player.
You need to install a Slipworm which will instantly update your Reddicom drive. A cheaper alternative would be to open up your RV7 files and click on 'Rewrite'. Enter a new Fluxxom code in the Gyropod section (don't go over your ICIS limits, or you'll bugger the CG variant) and save this onto your C:Altmeter.
Now all you need to do is uncopy the required Antiscope and change the Tycoscript settings to 'Normal' (or 'Standard' if your Lex Rating is less than 14T) when prompted and Hey Presto - your file will be available for instant use as soon as you've registered your Pyris domain name.
I'll tell you how to do that another day.
