Hi, I am in the process of creating a Queen website called Planet Queen courtesy of Freeserve now Wanadoo's site builder system and Proboards.com forums. There will be a messageboard on my site and I'm sure it won't compete with this board. It's not finished yet but it will be eventually! The address will be link.
See You Later People
OMG - another 'webdesigner'. BLUE letters on RED background is one of the 'NEVER DO THIS'-rules in webdesign. Sorry, but I'm getting tired of all these people wanting a website, when they have no idea how to design/script/create one - so they use some stupid online program which adds all kinds of unnecessary code & banners.
And the polite way to say that is:
Always great to see another Queen site! Looking forward to its progress, but one suggestion: the color scheme at present is really hard on the eyes. Hope that will change :)
Queenrocks: never ask queenzoner's to look at your site until its finished... their not the forgiving type.
and apparently its not a good idea to leave your email address on your index page - unless you want to be spammed to death.
Keep on working at it... and dont let these buggers get you down.
Hi QueenRocks, I know the Wanadoo site builder used by you, and I think everybody here will agree that it's crap. ( yes I know, Wanadoo it's a french thing ...) As a web designer (soon professional) I prefer using dedicated softwares. But I agree that it's not easy for everybody to understand all the tricks involved in web conception. If your content is original, the navigation easy and the text legible (please avoid those obscures combinations with red blue and Green) you can make a very frequented site without any problem, but all you need is work and built new concepts and ways to attract fans. That's one the keys to success :)
Good luck !!
queenrocks: Take the following as sincere advice and not nasty criticism!
When designing a web site ask yourself a couple of questions:
Who is the site aimed at?
Will have it bring anything new?
There are thousands of queen sites around - most are out of date and repeat common knowledge about queen. They are therefore pointless /useless.
What will your site s speciality be?
Can it compete with scully's detail?
will it have the latest MP3 / videos (try Rein's site!)
i'm not trying to put you off but web sites have to offer something new other wise no one visits and they die. There are only a handful of decent queen sites around worth visiting...
i was in a similar position to you... i quickly realised it wasn't worth competing with the likes of Scully, Rein et al.
Design a web site on something else that interests you... something unique... thats what i did.
Good luck with you site any way.
"Welcome To Planet Queen one of the best Queen websites on the web."
Why is it that every new Queen site - is "One of the best...?"
With - for example - Martin, Ron, Rein, Seb, etc, etc (and ofcourse good old Queenzone) being on line for years... why do newbies allways feel that the can compete on better (or on even) terms?
I totally support those who wish to be creative, but at least do a little homework first!
The green is a little better than the red, but still a bit unappealing :-P
I'm just thankful it doesn't have the quote from 'Let Me Entertain You' that 93% of all Queen sites seem to think they've cleverly thought of for the first time. LOL
Edit: The webmasters think rather. I don't believe sites themselves have the capacity to think yet, but you never know.
I absolutely agree with Agneepath!
When I started with QueenPictureHall back in 1997 I did the same thing. "What unique contents is my site going to have?" Since I liked to collect and always saw the front sleeves on a site but never the back, I decided to show the front ánd back sleeves. What an idea! :)
Since then it evolved into what it is now. I would have never expected it to be this big or popular, but if you don't do anything for it, nothing will happen. Don't forget that visitors want updates as well. Can you deal with that (I sometimes can't. Don't always have the time etc)?
Anyway, succes :)
