New Queen Album
| queenrocks! 10902 24.05.2004 13:17 |
Hi you know the new Queen album is coming soon well this are my questions about the album What is it going to be called? Who writes what songs? Who replaces Deacy? Are the unheard Freddie songs written by Freddie? And the most important question of all Will it be the last of Queen's unheard material?! Tell me your ideas |
| Penetration_Guru 24.05.2004 16:26 |
I think there's too much sugar in your diet.... |
| MexQueenFM 24.05.2004 16:59 |
"I think there's too much sugar in your diet...." I concur |
| Pim Derks 24.05.2004 17:33 |
--What is it going to be called? "The Show Goes On" --Who writes what songs? Brian wrote 5 songs so far, Roger wrote 4. They wrote 2 tracks together and there's also an unreleased Freddie-written track in there, for which Brian and Roger have completed the lyrics/music in Freddie's style. That makes 12 tracks in total, with a remix of the Freddie track being the most likely contender for a 1st single. --Who replaces Deacy? Brian/Roger/Steve Barnacle play bass throughout the album. Brian plays on the tracks he wrote, Roger on his tracks and Steve on the other tracks. --Are the unheard Freddie songs written by Freddie? It's just 1 Freddie track, but it was written by Freddie in 1987 while recording the Barcelona album. It was finished this spring by Brian and Roger. --Will it be the last of Queen's unheard material?! Nope, Brian and Roger have signed a contract with EMI for at least 2 albums to be released in the next 4 years. |
| FriedChicken 24.05.2004 17:35 |
I thought the album was going to be called: "The Show Is Going On" can anybody confirm this? |
| Pim Derks 24.05.2004 17:37 |
Yeah, I heard that rumour too Niek... To me, "The Show Goes On" sounds better, but that's just personal... |
| FriedChicken 24.05.2004 17:40 |
btw ,the unfinished Barcelona song is called 'Two Worlds Apart', As a matter of fact the first title Freddie had in mind for the Barcelona album was Two Worlds Apart. As for the song, It's a bit similar to It's a Hard Life |
| Pim Derks 24.05.2004 17:41 |
Indeed, the sample I heard reminded me of the final verse of It's A Hard Life. I just hope that Roger hasn't f*cked it up with his crappy lyrics à la Touch The Sky... |
| FriedChicken 24.05.2004 17:42 |
"To me, "The Show Goes On" sounds better" at least both of them sound better than Jazz or Hot Space :) |
| FriedChicken 24.05.2004 17:43 |
It is indeed pretty similar, especially the little clean guitar lick at the end |
| FriedChicken 24.05.2004 17:44 |
"Sounds just like the Journey song "Worlds Apart", they just put in a snippet of Freddie singing "Two" thruout the song!" What now? |
| Pim Derks 24.05.2004 17:44 |
"Sounds just like the Journey song "Worlds Apart", they just put in a snippet of Freddie singing "Two" thruout the song!" Wouldn't be the first time they were 'inspired' by a song... "Ghost Busters" / "Invisible Man" anyone? or "Good Times" / "Another One Bites The Dust" ? |
| FriedChicken 24.05.2004 17:46 |
you forgot Another piece of my heart / Let me Live |
| Another Roger (re) 24.05.2004 18:06 |

| queenrocks! 10902 25.05.2004 13:15 |
Another Roger (re) No we are very serious there is a new Queen album with unreleased material on it and it's due to be released just in time for Xmas? It's been nine years!(1995 being 9 years ago and MIH was released) |
| Chaka 25.05.2004 14:10 |
Where does this information come from? |
| Josuè 25.05.2004 14:11 |

| rhapsody__87 25.05.2004 15:14 |

| Pim Derks 25.05.2004 16:52 |
this is not a joke. Niek & I do sometimes like to stir things up a little, but this time it's for real. Have to say I think the whole 'Show goes on' title sounds very lame to me... |
| FriedChicken 25.05.2004 16:59 |
:-) |
| Daz85 25.05.2004 17:16 |
Pim, are you high again after looking at those Elisha Cuthbert pictures? ;-P |

| Pim Derks 25.05.2004 17:49 |

| queenrocks! 10902 26.05.2004 14:00 |

| Daz85 26.05.2004 15:22 |
BREAKING NEWS::: John was just shown on 'London Tonight' - apparently he tried stealing a young girl's tricyle. Sick, isn't it Pim?... |
| Pim Derks 26.05.2004 15:49 |
OMG! :D |
| Fenderek 27.05.2004 03:28 |
Good grief... |
| inu-liger 28.05.2004 15:03 |
Where can I hear the sample of "Two Worlds Apart", if it does exist? |
| inu-liger 28.05.2004 15:34 |
Fuck off, arsewipe |
| Pim Derks 28.05.2004 16:34 |
Sorry Dark, but the sample Niek and I got was just spread out between the elite-traders. Contact me and we might work something out (of course just a low bit-rate sample). |
| Daburcor? 28.05.2004 16:36 |
Damn... *wishes he were an elite trader* |
| Josuè 28.05.2004 18:16 |
McDonald's is giving the discs away in happy meals.you are God |
| Pim Derks 28.05.2004 20:26 |
damn... |
| NoOneButMe 29.05.2004 00:48 |
Hey Pim, what about sharing that sample of "Two Worlds Apart" with this forum of ELITE QUEEN FANS..... That should be great !!!! ;) |
| FriedChicken 29.05.2004 03:18 |
Well....You didn't do good in mentioning the word 'elite trader', Pim (A word which a lot of people still hate, including myself) I'm not an elite trader, But the guy who got the samples happens to be a pretty good friend of mine, So he send it to me. As far as I know one other Zoner has this song (apart from Pim and myself) |
| FriedChicken 29.05.2004 03:22 |
btw, Two Worlds Apart doesn't sound like the rest of the Barcelona album (Sorry all you Barcelona lovers!) But it's a bit like It's a Hard Life, or Keep Passing the open Window. light rock mixed with operatic backingvocals (don't expect another BoRhap guys!) |
| deleted user 29.05.2004 17:52 |
Another Roger (re) wrote: New Queen album? Is this a joke?? heheNew Queen album???????What??? Will it have new songs as well or just unreleased material? |
| inu-liger 29.05.2004 17:56 |
Pim hasn't replied to my e-mail yet. FC, would you send me that sample if I asked? As long as I do not distribute it... |
| Pim Derks 30.05.2004 06:38 |
I dídn't receive a mail from you Dark. Where did you sent it to? |
| queenrocks! 10902 30.05.2004 08:04 |
There will be new songs and songs that have been completed. |
| Mr Mercury 30.05.2004 15:50 |

"I heard a rumour that HMV were going to sell it along with John's Man In The Shadows CD as a double pack CD" Good, That album could use a good remastering job. |
| inu-liger 30.05.2004 16:50 |
Pim, I sent it to webmaster@pimderks.com |
| Pim Derks 30.05.2004 17:44 |
I didn't receive anything... Please re-send it. |
| NoOneButMe 30.05.2004 19:24 |
Well guys, are you going to share this "Two Worlds Apart" to the rest of us, Queen lovers???? Please..... |
| tomnever 31.05.2004 11:04 |
Yes please. We'll like to hear it... Just to see if it's true... I WANT TO BELIEVE |
| Plengel 31.05.2004 12:48 |
If Queen Production wanted all people to have "Two Worlds Apart" they would have hosted it on the official Queenonline website. They just spread it out through the "elite traders" (damn I hate that word), though I don't know why. I'm lucky to have some good friends who got this song. |
| tomnever 31.05.2004 13:00 |
If i do understand what was said about Two Worlds Apart, this particular song is sung by F, B & R ? BTW,I don't have some good friends who have it, but I would really appreciate if somebody wants to be my friend in order to share that jewel with me. Cheers. |
| Pim Derks 31.05.2004 14:05 |
Two Worlds Apart has Freddie on vocals, but Brian and Roger ofcourse have added their distinctive voices to the background vocals. |
| Paul Mark 01.06.2004 02:24 |
This whole topic is starting to sound like an elaborate hoax. I will be very disappointed if that proves to be the case. I think its in extremely bad taste to toy with fans emotions like this. |
| tomnever 01.06.2004 05:59 |
Good point Paul. We need concrete stuff now... Pim ? |
| Pim Derks 01.06.2004 11:43 |
Maybe Niek can answer that ? :) |
| Pim Derks 01.06.2004 11:47 |
If anyone's interested in Man from the Shadows - I've got some spare ones here. Interested in trading them for the original 7" of Waddaya Want From Me by Roger and/or the promo-cdsingle of Mr Roboto! |
| Daburcor? 01.06.2004 11:53 |
I'm telling you Pim, If I get one of your copies of Man In The Shadows and it's the same bastardly mastered version I have, Not only will I cry, but I will brain John for writing such great songs and then recording them on a shitty Lennox tape deck. |
| Pim Derks 01.06.2004 12:27 |
My copy is taken directly from the mastertapes - it even includes some extra instrumental bits on the end of "Fist through the door" and 2 or 3 other tracks, which are missing from the versions floating around on the net! |
| Daburcor? 01.06.2004 12:33 |
Oooooh... Sounds great to me! |
| tomnever 01.06.2004 12:41 |
OK, and I got the Hungarian promo CD of 'Fuck You Assholes' By Mr Hoax Another bullshit I'm afraid we were too naive Very very very bad taste indeed I only wanted to believe ;-( |
| FriedChicken 01.06.2004 16:31 |
It's 'Fist through the window' Pim |
| FriedChicken 01.06.2004 16:32 |
And one of the 2 extra tracks Pim is talking about is an intstrumental version of Sugar Baby Love |
| Pim Derks 01.06.2004 16:44 |
Hmm... on my advance copy it's still titles ...Door, Niek :S |
| Paul Mark 02.06.2004 03:17 |
Ha ha guys. How very witty... I am glad you find this all so amusing. You must be feeling pretty clever right now. Its a pity that for you too feel clever you have to make other people feel stupid. |
| Daburcor? 02.06.2004 03:22 |
Oh, now now! There's no need for that! Besides, This isn't the first time "Man In The Shadows" has been spoken of.. Well Maybe THIS year anyway... Ah hell... I don't care... Carry on! |
| tomnever 02.06.2004 15:10 |
And you call yourselves Queen lovers ? |
| Daburcor? 02.06.2004 15:25 |
I call myself many things. ;) |
| Whatinthewhatthe? 02.06.2004 15:31 |
I wonder if the artist title will be "Queen +", "Queen -", "Queen 1/2", "Queen w/o Freddie and John", "Brian and Roger Only This Time Folks", "Brian and Roger +"...the list could go on and on. I think for selling purposes it will be Queen, but one never knows! |
| 7Innuendo7 02.06.2004 17:18 |
At least I got a reply from Brian after asking "could we please have a heavy 'Jailhouse Rock?'" No, don't ask me for Bri's answer. Pim's hoax is just too cruel. |
| *goodco* 02.06.2004 17:26 |
We always wonder what others will give themselves as names, too....... |
| Fenderek 03.06.2004 06:01 |
I think this hoax isn't cruel, it's just god damn funny...! LMAO |
| FriedChicken 03.06.2004 16:28 |
Hoax? |
| AC 04.06.2004 11:31 |
YOU BASTARDS! I want to hear those songs! You must upload them! Please! |
| FriedChicken 04.06.2004 15:30 |
I just send an email to my friend (The one who gave us the sample) And asked if i could upload a low bitrate sample of 30 seconds. I'm waiting for his reply |
| FriedChicken 04.06.2004 15:31 |
:-) |
| FriedChicken 04.06.2004 15:31 |
Btw, I'm uploading one of the extra songs which are on the master of Man on the Shadows, on my webspace. I'll tell you the link when it's finished |
| AC 04.06.2004 17:07 |
WHERE? I want it NOW! |
| john bodega 24.07.2005 14:11 |
I honestly agree that the best way to: 1. Get rid of some people (like me) who want to hear at least a little bit of something (without having anything rare on account of just being a Regular Joe and not Greg Brooks)... 2. Shut people up who cry 'hoax'... is to yeah - post shithouse 30 second samples. I made that same suggestion in the Face it Alone thread (which is even funnier considering it's supposed to be some boring 10 minute instrumental ditty...) It's about time Roger Taylor recorded a song about sex videos. |
| john bodega 24.07.2005 14:15 |
Has anyone ever thought of doing up a really convincing cover for "Man in the Shadows" in Photoshop? I swear it'd be so worthwhile, you'd fool at least three thousand people, if not four. |
