I have two questions for you:
1) What did Brian use for his Brighton Rock solos in the 70s and in the 80s? Analogical or digital delay? Did they work with a tape?
Do you know the trademark, or the name of Brian's personal builder of delay pedals in the 70s and in the 80s?
2) What do you advise me to use, if I want to play a solo like the ones based on the canon idea? Actually I am searching a delay pedal with the following characteristics:
- choice of the number of repetitions
(I don't want infinite loop with decreasing volume!!!)
- delay time between two consecutive repetitions up to 5 seconds.
- I don't want a sampler, what I'm looking for is something which if I hypothetically keep playing for an hour, it repeats exactly what I play after 3 seconds and then again after other three seconds, like in a canon.
I asked around and they told me DD-20 Giga Delay by Boss, or DigiDelay by DigiTech, but I'm not sure they can do this. I know Giga Delay is a great pedal and can do a lot of things, but it's more a sampler than a delay.
What I want instead is LIMITED delay time (not more than 5 seconds) on UNLIMITED playing time, like a cyclical tape which plays after the limited delay time is spent, and then delete itself after the number of repetitions is spent. So the new input can be recorded, played, and deleted as long as I want.
You guitarists out there, can you advise me?
Not always three seconds, Adam. But imagine this riff:
(E)--5-3-0-----------
(B)--------3-1-0-----
(G)--------------2-0-
(click edit to see the right format, or paste it on your notepad and select Courier New or Fixedsys as font)
If I want this riff repeated twice after the end of it is almost three seconds the first time and then again three seconds the second time!
