Songs like Fun It, Las Palabras de Amor, The Millionaire Waltz, and Keep Passing the Open Windows definitely deserve more love. But Dead on Time needs it the most! |

Shane Jazz 19.05.2004 16:56 |
Fried Chicken is exactly right on "You and I" and "In Only Seven Days". Also, I think "Tear it Up" gets an unfair knock sometimes. It was just what it was supposed to be: a nice little rocky live number. |

The Millionaire's Waltz It's Late Son & Daughter Father to Son The March of the Black Queen Dragon Attack Las Palabras de Amor |
Shane Jazz 19.05.2004 16:59 |
Most overrated song for me? Hijack My Heart. It gets named as the best b-side now and then, but I never cared for it....Get Down Make Love, too. I never understood why they kept playing it in concert after the NOTW tour. During the Game and Hot Space tours too? They could've tried Sail Away Sweet Sister or Dancer instead of that tedious middle section. |
BornToBeKings 19.05.2004 17:01 |
Umm...this is actually for underrated songs, but thanks for sharing! |
Shane Jazz 19.05.2004 17:05 |
I know, sorry about that...I just felt like ranting...Another underrated gem for me is Who Needs You, just a nice breezy song. |
BornToBeKings 19.05.2004 17:11 |
Let me tell you a funny story: I had headphones on the first time I listened to Who Needs You, and at the end I thought, "Well, this is a nice instrumental." But when I look in the liner notes for the album I found out that it had lyrics. I played it on my computer and figured out the problem...the right speaker on my headphones was broken! I had a funny feeling about those random backup vocals in the middle of an instrumental, though.... :) |
agneepath! 11994 19.05.2004 17:12 |
underated by fans or the general public? i think most songs on ADATR deserve mass recognition esp. Millionaire Waltz and the terrific You and I. Prophets Song too rarely gets a mention. |
rhapsody__87 19.05.2004 17:49 |
Probably the epic songs like Prophet's Song and The March of the Black Queen... I love both of them so much but I rarely play them. I guess I don't want to tire of them the way I have of Bo Rhap. |

These were the top twenty five songs in Eggy and my poll. BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY SOMEBODY TO LOVE THE MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN -------------------- THE SHOW MUST GO ON LOVE OF MY LIFE THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES KILLER QUEEN LIAR WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER SPREAD YOUR WINGS ------------------------------- GOOD OLD-FASHIONED LOVER BOY ONE VISION PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS THE PROPHETS SONG ------------------------------- WE WILL ROCK YOU UNDER PRESSURE DEATH ON TWO LEGS ITS LATE ---------------------------------------- I WANT IT ALL KEEP YOURSELF ALIVE ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST BREAKTHRU TEO TORRIATTE ----------------------------------- The five marked songs fared pretty well in poll, so they are not too underrated. Dreamers Ball, for some inexplicable reason ranked 92 out of 188 songs. :( |
Maz 19.05.2004 23:08 |
Dead on Time, you troglodytes "Dreamers Ball, for some inexplicable reason ranked 92 out of 188 songs." Oh, I'm sure there's a reason. The bigger question is how it ranked so high. |
Daburcor? 19.05.2004 23:12 |
"Dead on Time, you troglodytes" It has been a LONG time since I was called a troglodyte. Thank you Zeni... I now feel I have been put back 'in my place'. ;D |
Saint Jiub 19.05.2004 23:13 |
Zeni - are you sure you are a woman? Aren't women supposed to like that sentimental crap? |
jorge 19.05.2004 23:15 |
I just think in one song: Body Language (WOW greatest queen's song) PS I hate it! |
Maz 19.05.2004 23:16 |
But Dreamer's Ball is such a snoozefest. Perhaps if I could stay awake through it, then I might enjoy the song. |
Fenderek 20.05.2004 08:25 |
White Man It's Late The Prophet's Song Stone Cold Crazy All of them should be classics like Smoke On The Water or Whole Lotta Love... Unfortunatelly, except Queen fans (and Metallica fans when it gets to SCC) those track aren't very famous... Pitty, they're freaking awesome... Also such a gems like "The night Comes Down", "Flick Of The Wrist", "Dead On Time" or "You And I" are IMHO underrated... Actually- what about "Spread Your Wings"? Fans love it but generally- this song doesn't exist for general public... Pitty, better example of what Queen was really all about than- let's say- overrated IWTBF... |
mr bad guy 5656 20.05.2004 08:30 |
You and I => defintely underrated Seaside Rendez-vous => Even Queen haters cannot deny only a genius could have written this song. Misfire => catchy, should get more respect. Kisses |

Spread Your Wings; Sail Away Sweet Sister; Life Is Real; Dreamers Ball; Doin Alright; ...and infact most Queen singles except the first ones from each album. Things like Slightly Mad, Save Me, Hard Life, WWTLF? and most of all... THE SHOW MUST GO ON |

BornToBeKings 20.05.2004 16:21 |
Yeah, we get it Dan (I like DB too). :) I'm not so sure that IWTBF is really overrated. IMO, it's one of Queen's most emotive synth-based songs, less cold and mechanical despite the computerized sounds. And some love for Staying Power, please! |
rendezvous 20.05.2004 19:47 |
Definitely My Fairy King, The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke, Flick of The Wrist and Bring Back That Leroy Brown. IMHO... |
Shane Jazz 21.05.2004 01:47 |
I totally forgot about Flick of the Wrist.... See, it's so underrated that it slipped through my radar! Devastatingly great solo by Brian, wonderful vocals. Just a great, great song. |
iGSM 21.05.2004 02:43 |
More of that Jazz, Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll, Mustapha, Bring back that Leroy Brown.. |
Fenderek 21.05.2004 03:41 |
One more- underrated even by fans- Get Down Make Love... I love it... |
Sebastian 21.05.2004 04:58 |
Keep Yourself Alive - in the matter that, as Roger said, it was more "hit material" than Seven Seas but it didn't even chart |
Freddie-B 21.05.2004 05:10 |
Leroy Brown, Leroy Brown!!! It's a work of unadulterated genius! |
Shun It 21.05.2004 07:48 |
Staying Power Dancer Back Chat Body Language Action This Day ... now that's a entire side of underrated songs from their most underrated album. Especially Staying Power, Back Chat and Action This Day... and Body Language... and Dancer... what the hell, guess I'm not that funny! ... I'm dead serious about Side-A though! |
Daburcor? 21.05.2004 12:11 |
"Yeah, we get it Dan (I like DB too). :)" Kay, I'll stop. :P |
Virtuoso 21.05.2004 14:54 |
Agree with Sebastien and Flick Of The Wrist is also underrated. |
Kuku 22.05.2004 01:54 |
Hot Space album All the songs in Queen I and II (I mean ALL and they are SOHORRIBLYUNDERRATEDBYSTUPIDPUBLIC) Jazz (neglected by most nonfans and many fans) Three FM masterpieces (March of the Black Queen, Flick of the Wrist, Millionaire Waltz) Countless Brian songs (Surely he composed songs that are many times better than We Will Rock You) Most Deacon ballads I want to say ALL SONGS but I'm a hopeless addict so ;) (and at least WWRY is NOT UNDERrated.) |
BornToBeKings 22.05.2004 15:32 |
"Jazz (neglected by most nonfans and many fans)" So very true...mostly gets attention for the Bicycle Race/Fat-Bottomed Girls phenomenon and, to a lesser extent, Don't Stop Me Now. Those 3 are great Queen songs, but I love the entire Jazz album (it's my personal favorite). IMO, there's not a dud among the 13 tracks, and it clocks in at a brisk 45 minutes--it just feels so diverse, rollicking, and emotional without being drawn out. |
