We had a great success with that ancient topic of Queen misheard lyrics. So what odd declarations and Satanic messages have you found in songs be other artists?
I've got some good ones, mostly my own.
Meat Loaf - Paradise by the Dashboard Light
Real Lyric: "You got to do what you can, and let Mother nature do the rest."
Misheard: "You got to do what you can, and your brother makes you do the rest."
Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton - Islands in the Stream
Real Lyric: "Islands in the stream."
Misheard: "Eyelids in the street."
Pearl Jam - Black
Real Lyric: "Were laid spread out before me."
Misheard: "Her legs spread out before me." (!?)
REM - The Wake-Up Bomb
Real Lyric: "I had a neutron bomb."
Misheard: "I had a new trombone."
Pearl Jam - Lukin
Real Lyric: "Always got a spot at Lukin's."
Misheard: "Always got a spot at Lupin's." (This wasn't mine, and there's a long story behind it.)
Any other beauties to share?
Real Lyric: "Mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice"
Misheard Lyric: "Mirrors are deceiving like champagne on ice"
"Hotel California" by The Eagles
Not really a satanic message (well, depending on how you look at it) But...
I was listening to The White Stripes' most recent album 'Elephant' with my brother, when, suddenly, during the track 'Hypnotise' a shocked look appeared on his face. He quickly grabbed the album sleeve to read the lyrics then started to laugh.
I only found out afterwards the instead of hearing:
"I wanna spin my little watch right before your eyes"
He'd heard
"I wanna spin my little lingerie before your eyes"
I am now unable to listen to that song without the thought of Jack White's "little lingerie" creeping into my mind.
DURAN DURAN - NEW MOON ON MONDAY
Real lyrics: New Moon on Monday and the firedance thru the night
Misheard: New moon on Monday and five days thru the night
