Being a big Guns N' Roses fan, I was just browsing one of their message boards and found this: "Queen plan on releasing the complete uncut show on dvd & cd sometime next year! This will include all openings by Metallica, Extreme, Def Leppard & of course GNR!" Then someone asked where they got the info... "Jim Jenkins the co president of the offical international Queen fan club i asked him last Saturday at the convention! they are working on trying to get this sorted for a 2005 release due to the massive disapointment of the previous dvd release!" Any other word? |
Daburcor? 11.05.2004 13:42 |
Now THAT would be cool! |
Michael Allred 11.05.2004 13:45 |
A 'complete' show? Even if Robert Plant insists that "Innuendo" never see the light of day? |
Daz85 11.05.2004 13:53 |
I always though Innuendo was "ok" - never as bad as soe people will let on at least. |
Penis - Vagina 11.05.2004 13:56 |
That's good news. I kinda miss the other stuff. And I'll gladly buy any new Queen product of interest. I love it when they re-release stuff. Life would be boring with no new Queen product to buy. |

Either put it out right the first time or don't put it out at all until you can get it right. Include ALL extras, commentaries, songs, features, etc... Don't string us along with "Ultimate edition", "Extreme edition", "Collector's edition", "Director's Cut", "TV Version", etc... |
David Jones 11.05.2004 14:07 |
Plus Spinal Tap are also on there too! |
Shane Jazz 11.05.2004 14:09 |
I would much, much prefer a concert release from the 70's than either the Tribute Concert released yet again, or the overrated GVH3. |
Lord Blackadder 11.05.2004 14:25 |
yes, i want it, i want it, i want it, i want it... |
FriedChicken 11.05.2004 15:01 |
Booooooooring. I've seen this show a million times, i really don't care if it has a few songs more or less. I'm sure many fans will agree with me |
FriedChicken 11.05.2004 15:02 |
new rumour: There will be a re-release of Wembley, which will be totally live, so no overdubs |
Mr.Jingles 11.05.2004 16:08 |
Queen Productions is staring to work in the same way that most Hollywood Studios do. They come up with a version of a film that lacks a lot in features, which everybody eventually buys because it's the only available version. Later on they release a much better version with tons of extras, expecting people to buy the same movie twice. |

Kuku 11.05.2004 19:45 |
So wait for a few more years until the complete version is out. |
rhapsody__87 11.05.2004 20:03 |
OOOH I'll go buy it anyway just because I like watching my DVD collection grow. >:] I'm so greedy. |
Adam Baboolal 11.05.2004 20:53 |
"Expect that to happen when Blu-Ray DVD's come out" Somehow, I feel that only the obvious ones will feature on blu-ray, e.g. GVHits dvds. And of course, any original titles made afterwards (but what?!). However, blu-ray discs shouldn't replace dvds etc. I believe it should be like minidisc, cdr and tape. All still widely used for different applications, but they aren't dead. That's what I believe will happen to dvd. It will still be utilised and films etc. will still be released. But obviously lesser and lesser as time goes by and prices drop on BR. It'll still be a great technology for the consumers, though. Peace, Adam. |

"They come up with a version of a film that lacks a lot in features, which everybody eventually buys because it's the only available version. Later on they release a much better version with tons of extras, expecting people to buy the same movie twice." That's a bit of a stretch. If that were truly the case, then GVH1, GVH2, and Wembley would not have been 2 disc sets full of extras. Odds on (assuming this rumor is true, which I'm not convinced it is) they learned after the Tribute Concert what fans really wanted. The Tribute Concert was, after all, Queen's first foray into DVD. It was probably a miscalculation on QP's part and now they want to fix it. |
Mr. Scully 12.05.2004 03:57 |
"Jim Jenkins the co president of the offical international Queen fan club" Last time I spoke to Jim he didn't seem to have anything in common with the fan club. In fact I think Queen are a closed chapter for him for a long time, he certainly has different interests these days. |
Oberon 12.05.2004 05:34 |
I doubt they'll do this, but the best compromise would be to release a disc of the first half with some extras which weren't on the first disc. It won't solve the missing Innuendo issue (I also thought that, except for the unfortunate loss of vocal at the start, this was a good - not to mention only - live version), but that can't be helped. I don't think there were any other songs missed out from the second half were there? Taking this approach means that if you want the first half on DVD, you can get it without having to pay for the second half again. Like I said, this would be an ideal solution, but it's the money men who seem to make the decisions rather than Brian or Roger (or maybe they are the money men?!?!?! I don't think so, but you never know!) |

About time too, I was gutted when I brought the last DVD. And Innuendo isnt that bad. |
Fenderek 12.05.2004 08:27 |
Boooooring... MAYBE IF I could bring back the old one and get the new one for free- that would make sense... Otherwise- exploiting the fans... |
Lord Blackadder 13.05.2004 11:47 |
I know this is silly, but can someone please post the complete concert listing. (All people who performed and what they performed)? I really wanna know... |
The Real Wizard 13.05.2004 13:24 |
Fuck this. I've seen the tribute concert a hundred times. Agreed with FriedChicken and Grim Reaper. Bring on something we haven't seen yet. |

Sorry to bring this back to life. I was searching to see if anyone had a recording of the whole show uncut which I guess by the sound of it, just doesn't exist. Interesting reading about this show though. I still have it recorded from MTV somewhere on tape but was pretty erked that someone decided to hit record and I lost most of The Great Pretender music video durring a break. Has there been anymore news on the 2005 release of this DVD and will it remain uncut with all the fun stuff (like Innuendo? ;)) |

I thought the tribute consert was pretty interesting. IMO, Extreme did a great job with the medley of Queen tunes. I think it would be worth having the whole concert, good and bad, esp. if they include all the interviews going on during the show. I have the whole thing on video and some of the interviews were a trip!! Esp. when Kirk Hammett (Metallica) said "fuck" and then got all embarrassed instantly and him and Hetfield busted up. I'd buy it. |

willem-jan wrote:LoL!David Jones wrote: Plus Spinal Tap are also on there too!Lets just hope they don't edit their 10 minute technical problems part. Btw Greg Brooks said on QOL in Q&A they're not releasing the full tribute concert. Maybe this rumour is true. I hope they do a new 5.1 mix if they will release it again, but I rather see Earls Court on DVD for example. Maybe they'll just entirely release it in the download shop? |
