Listening to Isle Of Wight Radio this morning and afternoon, Alex Dyke was hosting the official Top 50 Albums Of All Times in the UK.
Queen's 'Greatest Hits II' entered at number 25 and 'Greatest Hits' went in at number 9. I tried to write down all 50 but I'd missed about 20. :( So I have transcripted the top 20 albums.
20 Simon and Garfunkel - Greatest Hits
19 Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water
18 David Gray - White Ladder
17 Elton John - The Very Best Of
16 Corrs - Talk On Corners
15 Robbie Williams - I've Been Expecting you
14 Dido - No Angel
13 Spice Girls - Spice
12 Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
11 Shania Twain - Come On Over
10 Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill
9 QUEEN - GREATEST HITS
8 Michael Jackson - Thriller
7 Simply Red - Stars
6 Abba - Gold
5 Madonna - Immaculate Collection
4 Michael Jackson - Bad
3 Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms
2 Oasis - What's The Story Morning Glory
1 Beatles - Sergeant Pepper
For Greatest Hits II they played 'One Vision' and 'Greatest Hits' they played 'Another One Bites The Dust'
I just thought I'd share this :)
I'm glad they were included, but it's a shame that Greatest Hits compilations were chosen.
Queen II, A Night At The Opera or A Day At The Races might be better representative of what a truly great album can be.
