Posted in another topic but deserved its own place... link The lateset news: 25/04/2004 Brian May, Roger Taylor and Jim Beach were in Moscow again. I've talked with all of them and got many exclusive (and sometime sensational) news! So here we go: Today I'll write 5 news, I've got from Jim - he was so kind to answer my questions, so these news are unique - never heard before. Other news and pics are coming very-very soon! Check this page every day for updates! 1. I've asked Jim about 46664 studio tracks (they didn't release them on 46664 DVDs and CDs). Jim said, that Queen is working now on 5(!) tracks for upcoming 46664 studio album! (it means, that we haven't heard some 46664 tracks yet) 2. Then I've asked Jim, if there any work on new Queen album. Jim said, that there won't be any new album, till they don't finish all the works with musical. But he said that Brian and Roger definitely WILL record new album (the only question is - when:) Also Jim mentioned three new tracks with Freddie's vocals, taken from the middle 80's, that we have never heard before!!! He said, that Brian and Roger are making instrumental part of these tracks now, and these tracks will be released too. 3. The next question was about new DVD. Jim said, that the next DVD will be Milton Keynes (Yezzzzz!!). It will be a complete recording of this great concert (YEEEEZZZZZZ) This DVD will be released in October. 4. Now, some sad news. I've asked Jim about Houston 77. He said that this concert will never be released, due to problems with sound, especially with piano microphone. 5. Then I've asked, if there any concerts from 70's that they gonna release on DVD. Jim mentioned only Hammersmith. I've asked - if there is any concert from 76-79 era. The answer was NO. There is no concert from this era, that could ever be released on DVD. Said, but true. |
Ron 02.05.2004 05:45 |
looking at the guy's English, I think he misunderstood Jim many times or asked Jim questions in a way that he didn't understand so he simply made up an answer if it's true... well that would be great |
The Mir@cle 02.05.2004 05:53 |
Yes, It would be great news, if it's true. |
bleeding heart show 02.05.2004 08:08 |
Great news especially the news on the new Queen album !!! but OCTOBER !?!? DAMN ...... |
FriedChicken 02.05.2004 08:40 |
sounds very promising |
Mayboy 02.05.2004 09:49 |
hmmm interesting Milton Keynes it is then :D |
Maz 02.05.2004 12:26 |
It needs to be confirmed via another source before we take it to heart. |
Michael Allred 02.05.2004 15:10 |
Definitely interesting news if true. I just shot off e-mails to the official fan club and Brian's site asking for confirmation. I certainly don't mean to question the source's honesty but I'm sure we all would like an official confirmation on what has been said. |

i'm really looking forward to the unheard freddie songs and a decent bootleg copy of the houston concert. italian fans already knew about milton keynes bowl being the next official dvd, i just didnt know when. october? nice, i will start my autumn at home by watching that spectacular concert, i have many hopes about the bonuses too. i dont care much about the other subjects, especially about the musical: i prefer to spend my money on better (and older things). something with that...what's his name...he's a man with moustache... doesn't matter. cheers! |

I only hope that as we delve into the more obscure Queen video items, and Milton Keynes is far from "BoRhap" in terms of familiarity in the States, the official Queen Productions dvds do not become region 2 only releases. I only have a region 1 player and do not relish the thought of needing a region free player to enjoy any upcoming dvd releases. |
Michael Allred 03.05.2004 02:27 |
"Video Hits 2" didn't contain many well known songs in the US and that came out here so I wouldn't worry about a MK concert NOT being released either. |
Daz85 03.05.2004 05:18 |
The Queen DVDs arn't region encoded anyway - they are either PAL or NTSC format. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 03.05.2004 08:53 |
Grrreat news!!! I also don't question the quality of the source, but a confirmation would be very nice. I'm not as skeptic as Ron, though. I'm sure Jim was not talking about barbecues or B-Movies. The guy must have gotten the core of the story. By the way, Ron, your new site looks are great!!! Cheers, Ogre- |

Damn... (crossing my fingers and hoping) |
Kuku 04.05.2004 03:10 |
How come Queen Production says they won't release some of the 70's gigs because they don't have the complete version or have sound problems in some parts, when they already released some crap edited versions of later concerts? This makes me curious... what things are still hidden in the shelves of that office, yet to see light? |
Fenderek 04.05.2004 04:51 |
How about Hammersmith'79- don't they have the entire thing...? |
The Mir@cle 04.05.2004 05:11 |
"How about Hammersmith'79- don't they have the entire thing...?" I think the Quality is not good enough to release it with DTS sound. |
Daz85 04.05.2004 06:05 |
I reckon that after Milton Keynes and GVH3, they'll do a 2-disc compilation of Queen live throughout the years. That way they don't have to worry about certain songs at gigs that wern't recorded properly, and pick out the good bits. |
Fenderek 04.05.2004 06:38 |
"I think the Quality is not good enough to release it with DTS sound. " How about... not giving a f**k about DTS and release it in stereo...? I know it's daydreaming, but....c'mon- it's bloody music that it's the most important thing, PERFORMANCE- and that's the best I know... I would love it even in bloody mono... |
FriedChicken 04.05.2004 12:10 |
a live compilation is boring, I bought Rare Live, and only watched it once. I rather see a complete less quality dvd then a dvd with 30 or so songs from different concerts all through the years |
Saint Jiub 04.05.2004 13:30 |
A butchered live compilation like Cyberbarn or Rare Live is pure unadulterated evil. A live compilation of COMPLETE songs with each song only from ONE concert (no alternating between concerts within a song) like the Opera Omina bootleg would be a good idea IMHO if whole concerts cannot be released. |
Adam Baboolal 04.05.2004 14:24 |
I remember trying to find Opera Omnia for that very reason. Full live versions of almost every track ever performed. Never did get it. So, it would be even greater an idea to transform that into the visual/audio concept of a live compilation. But done right, of course. It's the next best thing to a full concert release. Peace, Adam. |
YourValentine 04.05.2004 15:08 |
A DVD collection with a selection from various concerts from the 70s would be a good compromise between the artists' wishes to release a perfect product and the fans' wishes to get high quality video footage from the very popular shows from the 70s. Of course, it would not make any sense to choose the "usual suspects" such as WWRY, WATC etc.. |
David Jones 04.05.2004 15:46 |
I agree Your Valentine. Rare Live was an early attempt at this, but it was shite. Something ala Led Zep's DVD collection would be cool! |
7Innuendo7 04.05.2004 17:21 |
Yaaayy!!! |
The Real Wizard 04.05.2004 17:42 |
David Jones wrote: Something ala Led Zep's DVD collection would be cool!I've been saying this since the Zeppelin DVDs were released :) |
Adam Baboolal 04.05.2004 19:28 |
I still have an article where they discussed the details of how the LedZep set was put together. It was an incredulous process. Could be something for the boxsets and a sole release. Nice idea. Peace, Adam. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 04.05.2004 20:21 |
Great idea, Adam (Opera Omnia). That would be wonderful, but I'm affraid it'd be very difficult to put it all together. Cheers, Ogre- |
goinback 05.05.2004 04:20 |
I bet they could brighten up Earl's Court (like they did with WWRY) if they tried.... Or they could do a DVD with half of one concert and half of another.... |
Freddie May 05.05.2004 06:16 |
Good news from queenonline : "Further to online reports surrounding the latest Queen DVD release, QOL can officially confirm that Queen are currently in production on various DVD projects including the 1982 Milton Keynes concert. The final decision on what will be released for this Christmas 2004 will be made over the next month" |
Polar Bear 05.05.2004 22:10 |
Maybe a live in the 70s disk and a live in the eighties disk? |
Liquid Scream 05.05.2004 22:50 |
What is the deal with the piano mikes? First I hear they didn't work at Hyde Park, Earls Court and now Houston! Who did they hire to record these shows? They seem to be working during Melancholy Blues on Rare Live! So I basically have nothing to look forward. Maybe another garbage compilation cd with the three new Freddie tracks and Milton Keynes on DVD. God, it would be nice to see a concert DVD that included Freddie without a moustache!!!! |
Carlos 07.05.2004 19:52 |
Just in case anyone cares, I'm almost positive you can make a dts soundtrack out of almost any audio source these days. I've read DVD reviews of movies dating back to the 30's and 40's getting remastered dts and dolby digital 5.1 soundtracks. So I don't think its a case of the concert audio not being good enough. How good the dts track would sound is a different story. It probably wouldn't be as good as the We Will Rock You dts soundtrack, but it would probably be decent in its own right. |
Adam Baboolal 07.05.2004 19:59 |
Whether you can encode into DTS is not the question. It's a "what's the point?" question. If you have a crap recording, why use DTS? If there isn't much to preserve in the sound, there's no real point of using DTS. Peace, Adam. |
