Good LORD, how do tickets sell out SO QUICKLY?! I even got up early this morning to be on ticketmaster.com and call up PNC Bank Arts Center (where I'm going to the concert) and I still couldn't get orchestra seats. So after relentlessly trying for a half hour, I got seats in section 403 which is in the back, but center. I hope Aerosmith put up screens because I'm just very angry and I wanted to be close up.
I should be fortunate that I GOT tickets but come on... it's not as if I had any other opportunity previously to see them. I know they toured last year but I didn't exactly KNOW it last year.
Ew, sorry. I'm ranting. I'm mad. I want to be front row one day, I really do.

It is a Clear Channel event... er, is that a bad thing?
And I want to go to a concert! The only time I've been to a concert were, ah, let's count them... twice. First one was Chicago with Hall and Oates which I got dragged to by the parents. The second was 2 summers ago to see Santana, which I actually liked.
I saw Hall & Oates in '83. They rocked! The sax player came out into the audience, it was wild. Oxo opened for them. Who can forget Oxo? Whirly Girl! wooohoo!
I know exactly how you feel, Erica.
Unless you're a fan club member, it's almost impossible to get orchestra seats. From all the concerts I've been to (almost 20) the only one I was able to get orchestra seats from was 'The Offspring' in 1999.
I'm one of those who always checks exactly what day and what time tickets go on sale, and I'd go and make the line before the box office 2 hours before they ticket location opens, or go online and constantly refresh the page so I can get good seats. It's very dissapointing that despite all your efforts, you have no choice but to take the seats on the upper level, or even worse getting tickets all the way in the back of the arena where you can hardly see the band members.
I went to see Aerosmith twice, and I can assure you that despite not getting great seats you'll still have a good time. Enjoy!
Thanks, Mr. Jingles! :-)
I got up very early to go online and yes, I even constantly refreshed the page! It's crazy. I don't want to join for $30 a month just to get great seats... I'd rather get the great seats on my own. I hear they put on a very mean show, so regardless, I'm excited.
This is a very left field question, but how would you compare their performances with Queen's?
Clear Channel is corporate evil.
The luck I've had buying tickets came when I went to venue to buy and not online at Ticketmaster.com. Online maybe be easier, but it's been a pain.

Sorry you didn't get the seats you wanted, but at least you're going to get to see them! Concerts are the best. :^)
I used to be a member of Aero Force One, but outside of the US, most of the benefits didn't apply, particularly as UK venues are generally standing near the stage.
If you've got reasonable tickets you'll have a good time regardless. Having said that, they seem to have forgotten where Europe is since 1999 and they might have lost it a little bit now that Steven is hurtling towards 60!!
I've seen them 19 times (took me 10 years, as they only passed by Europe every 4 years) and have loved every show - except Donington '94 which I don't remember very well because we were extremely drunk, having been on vodka all day to keep warm, cos it was freezing!!
Glad you got tickets anyway and enjoy the show.
They're not nicknamed 'Ticketbastard' for nothing are they?
Thanks you guys :)
Ticketbastard... that's a good one!!! Seriously. And we can't even bring cameras which is absolute garbage. How am I supposed to take pictures now? It's too far away with my camera phone and what would that help? Any solutions? haha
I think I saw a Tshirt somewhere online that said that. Just do a search and it must come up somewhere.
I think you can take cameras in now in the UK as long as it's not professional quality.
All I'd suggest is a very small camera hidden in the trousers (ouch) and don't use flash, and you might get away with it.
Over here they'll take it off you and you have to get it back at the end. Over in the states they may take your film too. If it's a digital camera, take the card out!!! Or take a disposable one. It sucks really, but just enjoy the show.
It's hell to get tickets that way.
The answer? E-bay.
Most people who buy tickets that early get them to resell them. Usually you can get the same tickets for relatively the same price there.
Clear Channel, Ticketmaster, and all those corporations are the antichrist itself.
They're money hungry machines who know how faithful and dedicated some music fans are, and therefore they take advantage of their devotion to a popular band and squeeze every single penny out of their pockets.
Sometimes buying tickets at the box office is not even worth it. Ticketmaster arranges things to make sure that their tickets go on sale first than they do at the box office. Either they have a special online sale that goes for a couple of hours before the tickets go officially on sale, or then they allow sales only through tickemaster 1 or 2 hours before the box office opens. Chances are that by the time you get tickets will go on sale at the box office, you'll get bad seats or worse than that... YOUR CONCERT WILL BE SOLD OUT.
Notice how ticketmaster uses every single possible strategy to make you pay a lot more than what you're supossed to pay to see your favorite band.
