I saw the photos this morning on the news. Horrifc stuff. I have also heard that this incident has not been reported in any of the major american newspapers. Can any american queenzoners confirm if this si true or not?
"CBS' 60 Minutes special claims this hooded prisoner was put on a box, wires attached to him and he was told that if he fell off the box he would be electrocuted." link

It was all over the TV news last night, but I haven't checked any newspapers recently.
I can tell you, based on the newspapers I've seen this morning, that Michael Jackson will be indicted today. It's all about priorities.
Ahhh, stooping as low as possible to prove a point...now those soldiers are no better than the people they're supposed to be fighting.
Makes me sick, I hope they get what's coming to them. All that shit Americans pride themselves on "liberty and justice for all" etc...it's a load of crap when you get people like that.
The world is shocked because of the pictures, people don't want to see the the truth in close-up view - that makes it impossible to ignore.
There are over 600 people held in Guantanamo base since January 2002 - they are all denied the basic rights
- they have no lawyer
- there is no charge
- nobody is allowed to visit them
- they are not held as POW and therefore not protected by the Geneva convention.
- 5 of nine British prisoners were recently released, the British government saw no reason to file any charges against them. They had been kept under inhuman conditions for over 2 years for no reason - by the so-called land of the free and there was no public outcry.
President Bush blamed the abusive soldiers and said this is not the way Americans do things - this is exactly how the Bush administration does things.
It is all over the news in my city in the USA. I know I am not happy at all with the way these people were treated. I hope the soldiers that are guilty of this get the punishment they deserve.
On the news here it was said that another American soldier who witnessed these acts was the one that turned the other soldiers in. I am glad he decided to do the right thing and stop this treatment.
I find it ecspecially alarming and disturbing these prisoners were tortured in a prison where Sadaam used to torture his own people. I would have liked to have thought that those soldiers were there to stop that inhuman treatment.
I hope that the rest of the world won't judge the American people or the rest of the American soldiers on the behavior of these soldiers. I know its easy to do that. I just hope it doesn't happen.
Great, just when we thought the Middle Eastern people could not hate us more, we come up with this shit. Abusing prisoners is flat wrong. If our prisoners were put through the same treatment in another country, we would scream bloody murder and bomb the hell out of the country. And who took the pictures? What a dumbass. So much for winning hearts and minds...
