Gay = Freddie

How did they find out that freddie was gay |

How did they find out that freddie was gayThat depends who you mean by 'they'... the other members of the band or what? Well, whoever you're referring to, my guess would be that he just told them... if it wasn't bloody obvious in the first place. |
| wstüssyb 23.04.2004 21:38 |
I'm sure there are better things in life to worry about. ^^ |
| deleted user 23.04.2004 23:09 |
Well, back in the late 70's, Freddie, against the better judgment of the band, rented an airplane, and had a 3000 foot banner made saying just that. 'I, Freddie Mercury am GAY'. The plane flew around the world several times so all the people could see. He even enlisted the help of Santa Claus. What possesed you to ask such an assinine question? |
| Lester Burnham 23.04.2004 23:35 |
I guess he wanted to make his first post something spectacular. |
| Banquo 23.04.2004 23:49 |
Freddie gay? You are joking? Nuno tell me its not true. I like all my bands to be hetro. Next you'll be telling me that George Michael has turned. What. Fuck. |
| NunoGomes 24.04.2004 03:10 |
What the hell's wrong with u im just askin a god damn question asking why everyone says hes gay so im saying how the public found out he was gay jesus christ people |
| Banquo 24.04.2004 03:28 |
You're new so I'll be kind. Its just that this question comes up every month or so. It just pisses regulars off we are all fans of Queen and it matters not one jot that Freddie was gay/bi whatever. Welcome anyway! |
| Daburcor? 24.04.2004 03:45 |
Exactly. Welcome! :D |
| Whisperer 24.04.2004 03:59 |
I have understood that Freddie never admitted that he was gay. Of course you could guess, but not many knew for sure. |
| Into La Ment 24.04.2004 06:04 |
so im saying how the public found out he was gay jesus christ people*giggles* I never remember Freddie being 'gay jesus christ' :op I really should learn to stop misreading things... |
| Big Black 24.04.2004 12:43 |
"They" found out on the Jazz tour. On Live Killers, there are three infamous beeps during Freddie's intro to Death on Two Legs where he says "this is a song about", then you hear the beeps. What he said that had to beeped out was "this is a song about deepthroating massive cocks. We call it Death on Two Legs (as the cocks in question where so big they were like legs, two legs in fact.) Of course the band couldn't let the general public know this so only them and the audience at the concert knew Freddie was gay as there was no internet to pass his comments along to the rest of the world. Glad to be of service. |
| NunoGomes 24.04.2004 16:03 |

"How did they find out that freddie was gay" - I couldnt pinpoint the exact time, but it probably aroused their suspicions when he started having sex with guys. Hope this helps. |
| Kuku 24.04.2004 17:16 |
LOL! Big Black and DeaconJohn |

Hey Nuno, I live in Vancouver, too. Nice to have met another teen fan in my area! (You know Queen hardly gets any attention in Vancouver) Well, sorry if you feel people are treating you like a kid, but you are acting like one. (And seeing your age, perhaps it is indeed the case.) People here didn't become Queen fans because Freddie was gay - they became Queen fans because they liked the music. The particular topic of homosexuality, therefore, gives an impression that the person who started the topic cares more about whether Freddie had sex with men than Queen's music career. Also, Freddie would have been very displeased to hear questions like that. He was a very private person and did not want to divulge personal life to more than a few people. Maybe you should respect his wish and refrain from questions that nobody knows the answer to. |
| NunoGomes 25.04.2004 02:05 |
Wow i wanted to ask this fuckin question because i was talking to my friends about it if people knew for a 100% fact that he was gay so i wanted to find out how people found out and if they were certain about it so we could finish our fuckin conversation and get an answer to our question these people dont gotta start makin new fuckin threads dissin me cuz u got notin better to do cuz you'z a stupid muh fayckew so jus fuck off and dont act like a bitch. |
| wow 25.04.2004 02:30 |
First off, all u guys are fuckin retards! Where in "How did they find out that freddie was gay" does it say that he dislikes queen because if it or that he cares about the fact at all? He just asking a simple question and u fuckers are going all out calling hima gay basher and shit. Maybe if u removed the massive blow up doll from ur baby wieners and took 2 seconds the read the question you would actually know what hes tryin to say. You might not be able to answer cuz ur to busy jizzin in ur plastic blow up betty dolls but at least u will understand what hes asking. And whats this shit about oh im gonna go easy on him cuz its his first post, who gives a flying fuck if its his 1st or his 92nd. Just because u crack whores cant come up with a half decent comeback doesnt mean you need to blame it on the fact that its his first post. |
| iGSM 25.04.2004 02:35 |
Indeed. I'm agreeing based on the fact I couldn't possess myself to read that. Freddie was as gay as a daffodil. Apparently. |
| wow 25.04.2004 02:40 |
How bout you agree upon the fact of agreeing instead of makin up some reasonably clever comment that would have made me laugh if i was a giant nerd with 888 posts. |
| iGSM 25.04.2004 02:43 |
I'd rather you used paragraphs than anything else. |

Basics? That's advanced stuff! Also the nipple tickling incurs a charge. |
| wow 25.04.2004 02:56 |

Oh, good God! I haven't laughed this much at a topic for VERY long. Especially the "advanced for my age" had me crack up. Something at the far back of my mind tells me I shouldn't bash newbies... But honestly, this is just too good to be ignored! |

Calm down. (By the way, I could only read about one fourth of that.) "Newbie" isn't an insult, man. Listen. A lot of the people here are extremely antsy about these topics. After a time you'll learn that you cannot say the words "Freddie" and "gay" or "John" and "lap dancer" in the same sentence, or you'll get a hundred thousand people all having apoplexy and yelling "WE'VE HAD THIS TOPIC BEFORE!!!!!!!" Your question here was kind of ridiculous. Before you ask a question on here, please ask yourself if its worth getting cyber-raped to see it on the board. |
| hoopdiddydiddy 25.04.2004 15:51 |
I would just like to say that gay means happy damnit. The Flintstones "We'll have a gay old time". The Great Pretender "Laughing and gay like a clown". Gay Paris. I can't even say I had a gay day anymore without people looking at me stupid, or say that I'm gay, carefree and single. Couldn't they have made up their own little word rather than steal one that already means something else? Ok I'm done rambling now. Just thought I'd make that little point seeing as no-one else has |

Impressive. A few points (hopefully, I've translated and interpreted the txt rambling correctly): 1) You get pissed off that people have responded in what you feel is an inappropriate manner to your topic. Then you call them 'fuckin faggotz'... nice. I see you're going to be popular :o) 2) The line "im not at school"- And never have been, I presume. That'd explain a lot. and "As long as you understand it". You see, that's the problem. I reeally don't. 3) You're from Canada... and claim to talk like a gangster. Now, I'm interested to hear that accent. *sigh* all this topic is funny ^_^ |

But this here is just too much and apparantly it's not come to his mind that there are people from all over the world on this forum. so most people won't even bother to read what he says, cos it makes no sense what so ever to them, including me, I just can't stand that stupid scribbling and I won't even try to make sense of it. Is it too much trouble to write in normal english? |

3) You're from Canada... and claim to talk like a gangster. Now, I'm interested to hear that accent. *sigh* all this topic is funny ^_^Hey Poodle_permed, not everyone in Canada has accent... although, I can just imagine someone rapping with a Canadian accent, hahaha. And Nuno, you say as if a faggot is a bad thing (calling everyone distasteful to you in general faggotz). I can't see how you can like Freddie when you dislike faggots so much. Petition to Richard: as it has been pointed out several times, please either update the Q&A section or make a link to the Freddie's personal life section. By the way, I read "the Definitive Biography" (forgot the author's name... the woman starting with Leslie...). Quite insightful, I must say, into Freddie's personal life. Nuno, and all other newbies (including myself), might want to check out those books as they evidence his life way better than Queenzone.com does. If you need more reference, read Fatty's entries. |

NunoGomes... Go terrorize Britney Spear's notice board or something. Maybe if I try to give you an satisfying answer you’ll get the f*ck off. I don’t know when the public exactly became aware of the fact that Freddie was gay. But I think it was very obvious. He behave like a homosexual and it seems that he had sex with a lot of men. Especially the time he spent in New York, he was very sexual active. He enjoyed his time in New York because he was a little bit a unanimous person in this city. But I think in that time there was already a sort of gossip press. So that the story of Freddie being gay reached the public, wasn’t that weird at all. |

Poor little NunoGomes. Poor little thing. Poor little Portuguese-Canadian. I hardly ever make posts, but I couldn't resist this time (God knows I love a little controversy, and a whole lot of stupidity). For someone who talks about masturbation in almost every post, in addition to discussing other people’s sex lives... looks like someone isn't getting enough himself. I bet you are a loser at school... aren't you? No friends? No girlfriend? You make a lot of posts for someone who claims to "have a life". Trying to be hard core with your ghetto-speak... fuck, that makes me laugh. You aren’t hard core at all, you just sound really stupid. I'm sorry, there are no ghettos in Vancouver, unless you consider Gas Town a ghetto (do you know where that is little Nuno? Or does mommy not let you take the bus alone to the big bad city just yet?). Nothing is funnier than a pasty white-boy talking like he's from the Bronx. I always found the ones who, in high school, talked openly about their hated for gays, and cited Christian principles declaring homosexuality a sin... were the one's who, come university or college, joining all the gay clubs & associations. That is, if they ever made it beyond the 10th grade. You're gay Nuno, aren't you? You know what Shakespeare said about "those who protest too much" don't you? You're hatred for "them" is a reflection of how you look at your own gayness. Admit it. It’s okay. There there. Here's hanky child. Things will be okay. Now run along... go try to make some friends with other pimply-faced teenagers instead of spending your days masturbating, and coming to the Queen site. |

As for your spelling, Nuno, your arguments are pretty out-there. You see, this is written language. I honestly don't give a damn what accent you have when you do speak, but on here I'd like to be able to read what people have to say. People try to make themselves understood. That's why I write in English though I am Norwegian, and that is why I try to spell in a manner which will make others understand my post, and which will make others want to read my post. I had to skip most of yours, because I honestly don't get any sense out of it - it bothers my eyes and gives me a headache. If you were from another country and your spelling was poor for such obvious reasons, it's perfectly OK. But most people at least try. You even say that you can spell in a readable way when you're at "schoo", so why not on here? Purposefully making your posts hard to understand for non-English users as well as English/American ones, is something I just don't like. |

Awww.... poor little baby. Is someone making you upset to cause such profanity???... poor skinny little thing. Its funny that you didn't comment back about me saying that you are gay. Yes, NunoGomes, you are gay. Don't try to hide it... everyone here knows you are, and that you are in serious denial. But you know what? That's okay, no one picks their sexuality... that is given to us by (dare I say) God. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay... geesh, even Freddie was gay, and he was a superstar! You with that budding mustash... those hot looking glasses... and that gangster hat with the little horsey on it... ooooohhhhh baby. If I didn't know better, I would think you were Tupak or Biggie from that picture alone.... who needs you to speak in your ghetto slang when your picture says it all!!!! Gangster from B.C.... ooooh.... scary. (Are there any black people in BC aside from the guys from Swollen Members??). |

This is a joke, right? Everybody's waiting for someone like me to respond and then the actor who plays NunoGomes shows up at my door and gives me the limited Bo Rhap purple sleeve 7", right? Am I making any sense? Why o why o why are people replying to his messages? Calling him gay, slagging of his language... he loves it! People, people, people, we're feeding the monster here, doesn't anybody see that? We give him the fuel he longs for and show to all his friends. DO NOT REPLY IN THIS TOPIC EVER AGAIN, PLEASE!!! Ignore the kid! DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE ALSO!!! Please let this be the last post in this discusting topic!!! Ignore, ignore, ignore, don't say that you cannot let this pass, ignore the kid!! The best thing to get to NunoGomes' senses is never ever reply to a message he posts again.... NEVER! C'mon, I'm stunned that nobody mentioned the kid lists Insane Clown Posse as one of his favorite 'bands.' Could we have ever for one second considered this a serious member with a taste like that??? Cheerz, (Don't Fun It!) Shun It P.S. I seriously hope nobody will respond to these words. Let this be the last reply for ever and ever... and if our little clown responds? I hope you know what to do! |

You called yourself the nerd, not me. If you'd read my post, I was just negating the point you made, saying how you don't come every day... but in fact you do. I wasn't criticizing you. "maybe yer jus wishin that I would do it so u'd finnaly be happy for one time in yer life and havin a friend outside of this forum" Oh man, you hit me hard. Really hard. In fact, I'm going to run and cry to my invisible friends, because according to you, I don't have any. "PLUS icp fans treat me way more better then u bitches do" I'm sure that's because they're all at your intelligence level. "GH-- its a lovely site is in not?" Oh yeah! These people running this site has no intelligence of their own. At best, they have above par regurgitation skills, and can conveniently use passages that suit their needs. Nothing more. Anyone who believes in this kind of preaching I really, really feel sorry for. Everybody, just leave this Nuno guy alone. He's an immature kid. Well, if a couple more people want to have some fun, then go for it! But as Shun It said, the less people who provoke him, the less he'll feel compelled to reply. I probably won't do it again. |

How long its going to continue.. To gategorize people by their sexuality!?.. what the fuck it has to do with anything.. ok it does.. I can tell you.. if freddie would have been a dull hetero sexual.. you (the guy who started this post) wouldnt be enjoying all his multitude of different kind of music.. the basic shit we get from those current hetero sexual musicians.. and from the past.. Its utter shit.. since being a GAY, like U stated it.. it means a person who has much deeper emotional range.. |

Hey, I've been reading all this stupid discussion and it made me sick. Yeah, you're right, Nuno shouldn't heve been writing the way he did, but none of this would have ever happened if you answered his question in a decent way, without calling him names or accusing him of being gay. But this sounds like the new strategy on this forum, ain't it true? Every time a newcomer shows up, you just destroy him with your greeeaaat sense of humour which he doesn't seem to enjoy pretty much. You're not bound to answer to any question, right? We're definitely not a bunch of welcoming Queen fans and we don't act like a family and it's not good. And I just don't get it, why have you all got so angry because of his question? The last weeks, there was a discussion on this forum about the most homosexual song and no one seemed to protest against it. So if you'd have left him alone, he certainly wouldn't have written all the rubbish he did. In my opinion, it's your fault, you Queenzoners (if I'm allowed to talk like this), you enjoyed it, didn't you? If you stop, he'll stop too, but you don't stop, do you, cos you like it?! |

U know it Urself how ridiculous it sounds :) And my gategorizing had connection to the musician Freddie context. And what comes to the better/worse comparison between hetero/gay sexual oriented musicians.. I believe we cant really be sure of the sexual orientatios of the presentators of those genres in 400 yrs.. I cant recall how many of classical composers were openly gay and who closedly. My point once again was that generally gay people do "better" music in terms of putting their personalities, and emotions on stake.. FM, GM, Elton John and some others to name. but only IMHO!!!!! :) |

I think Nunoneedledick or whatever his name is should start respecting other people on this board, and stop typing in ebonics. Be who you are man. I assume you are a white kid, so act like one. It doesn't make you 'cool' to act like a gangster punk wanna be. Be proud of your INDIVIDUALITY. Don't conform to the ways of the bullshit inner city crap. It's not becoming. The only people who do that are either 'bros' from the hood, or people who don't have a life. Don't be one of those man. Be what and who you are. |

If being gay isn't any big deal, and no one cares about the fact that Freddie was gay, then I never understand why people get bent out of shape when someone asks about it (other than it being an old question, but lots of old questions get asked all the time). AFAIK Freddie said he was bisexual the day he announced he had AIDS, though I can't remember for sure so that might not be accurate. There was no other public statement though. In the documentary I think he told his ex-girlfriend in the mid-'70s, and she was very supportive. Also he was going to gay bars at least by the late-'70s. I've also always been curious about when the other band members figured it out, and what their thoughts on the whole thing were (especially since it was the '70s). I know they apparently just didn't talk about it much though. Thankfully it didn't bother them too much or who knows what would have become of the band :) |

" How did they find out that freddie was gay " Who gives a crap! Bottom line he was! :D !! But if youre wondering: (go to BM.com, search Freddie Gay in the whats new section, and its the first thing that pops up) "PART 3 MW: Did Freddie's sexuality and its impact ever become an issue for you? BM: The subject of Freddie's sexuality never came up because it wasn't even mentioned. None of us had any idea that he might be different from us. Is that saying it the right way? I mean, we shared lots of flats and stuff and I've seen Freddie disappear into rooms with girls and screams would emerge, so, you know, we assumed that everything was fairly much the same way as we knew it. It was only very much later that we realised there was anything else going on with Freddie. I mean, much, much later. We were on tour in the States and suddenly he's got boys following him into a hotel room instead of girls. We're thinking, Hmmm… [laughs] And that's about the extent of it. I always had plenty of gay friends, I just didn't realise that Freddie was one of them until later." |
