Which songs/demos are closest to completion and thus would be most feasible for Bri & Rog to finish off? From what I've heard, Feelings Feelings and Face it Alone might be the logical candidates, while songs such as I Guess We're Falling Out and My Secret Fantasy would require some major work and retooling. Is the early Freddie version of Polar Bear an option, or does it sound too dated for a modern release? Thanks for any info!
¡SELF MADE MAN! I've always dreamed of that song being 'made'!! I think that if the guys decided to relase it, they'd use the vocal sectin of Freddie with the original vocal inputs.
Oh, the demos available for Brian and Roger to complete themselves have already been released. On an album called "Made In Heaven". No one knew better than Brian and Roger what was the best of the lot of unfinished songs and they made their choices. Any unused gems from previous albums would have been reworked by the group and put out on subsequent albums if they warranted release, as was the case with "Sheer Heart Attack", the song. Anything left now obviously did not stimulate anyone in a position to flesh them out and they are better off left alone. I would hope that Brian and Roger would have enough integrity to avoid the temptation to try and resurrect Queen as a glorified duo. If Brian was tempted to do so, I would think that Roger would be the voice of cynicism and reason.
D, I think you misunderstand the thread. It's a big "IF" and of course it's almost guaranteed that there will be something coming. But probably around a boxset kind of time. The whole album of new tracks was blown out of proportion by that last thread that appeared.
And to be honest, this thread is just continuing that and mere speculation. Take with a pinch of salt. lol
Peace,
Adam.
I believe there are lots of good unfinished songs in their vaults just waiting to be released. Just look at Freddie box - he alone had so much good material for solo projects. The reason why these unfinished Queen tracks weren't on MIH is simple. MIH was an album with a message 'Good bye Freddie, we love you'. You just can't put a hard rocker with nasty lyrics on an album like that.
Now, I don't know what they're gonna do with the material. Finish them off or release them as they are. JUST RELEASE THEM, PLEASE! I think some of Freddie demos were great but then again well-produced stuff would be great, too. Just remember what that Smash guy did with New York.
A new album is a nice idea as long as they steer clear of any more collaborations...no more
Queen + ...
They could easily make an album like this;
- Rework 3 Previously Unreleased demos (Face It Alone, Guess We're Falling Out etc.)
- Rework 2 Freddie solo tracks (Love me Like there's no tomorrow, New York or Foolin' Around etc.)
- There Must Be More To Life Than This (John Deacon remix)
- 4 New Tracks recorded by Brian and Roger (and John if he wanted to)
- New take on familiar song (for example a new studio recording of the slow version of 'Hammer To Fall')
- 1 remix of old track with Freddie on vocals
(Was It All Worth It, or B-side like See What A Fool I've Been or I Go Crazy)
That Album would be 12 tracks and would be great...i'd buy it.
