The pattern so far was late-spring a live DVD, and in late-fall a video compilation DVD. May 2002 was the Freddie Tribute, followed by GVH1 in October. June last year brought Wembley, followed by GVH2 in November. So word is that GVH3 will be released this Christmas season, but is there another live DVD in the works for the next few months? It doesn't look good if we haven't heard anything firm yet (unlike GVH3 which has been mentioned fleetingly). Perhaps the upcoming convention will yield a couple rumors? |

There are people on QOL who claim to know... and their clues point to Hammersmith...but since they are all escaped lunatics the veracity of their opinions is somewhat suspect! Nicki |

LOL Nicki :) there were rumors about it being Milton Keynes aswell |
Brian_Mays_Wig 14.04.2004 09:42 |
Hope its Milton Keynes :) |

I can confirm it will be Milton Keynes. |

How? |
Mr.Jingles 14.04.2004 11:36 |
Hate to burst people's bubble (for those who want to see a concert that have never been released before). But to me it would most likely be Budapest '86. Excellent concert, though. Milton Keynes '82, Houston '77, Hammersmith Odeon '75 are excellent choices, but chances are that they might not be released because they're not filmed on its entirely or because the sound a video quality of the original films in the vault is not good enough to consider a DVD release. To me, Queen should release a DVD with clips of different performances through their career. If I'm not wrong, a similar video has already been released, which I belive is 'Rare Live'. It'd be great if they could release a collection of live performances. |
iGSM 14.04.2004 11:47 |
How good is Budapest? Better than my solo at Hammersmith? |
Fenderek 14.04.2004 12:06 |
"If I'm not wrong, a similar video has already been released, which I belive is 'Rare Live." You're not wrong- but "Rare Live" is one of the biggest pieces of crap ever released... |
Daz85 14.04.2004 12:12 |
Nothing has been set-in-stone yet, though there is one main contender which will likely be the final choice. This time next month we shall know for sure. |

True William and I hope it's Milton Keynes |
rhapsody__87 14.04.2004 16:19 |
I want it to be Milton Keynes, too! It's getting annoying downloading it... and it's taking up space on my computer. I'd rather it take up space in my DVD cabinet (which is disgustingly organized, I might add!) :-) |

Definitely not the sound being a problem. I remember having an EXCELLENT sounding copy of the above mentioned concerts. They had a quality I could easily have mistaken for an official release. So, needless to say that it's possible that the video is the culprit. However, the only clips I've seen, seemed fine. Peace, Adam. |

Sunbury Working mens Club 1972 would be my guess. |
Penetration_Guru 14.04.2004 17:59 |
It's not that we believe MK will be next because it's unreleased, it's that most people can't beleive QP would be so dumb as to release a second Magic Tour show. On the other hand, they did release Rare Live.... |
Nickipee 14.04.2004 18:10 |
lmao at bob the shrek |
thanks freddie 15.04.2004 07:24 |
I still think that milton keyness will be released, look at the video clip on GVH II it's cleaned up both sound and video. Budapest is a great concert, don't think that they released an another concert from the magic tour (but who am i, i hope they don't. A concert from an another tour like the hotspace tour or concerts from the early days would be great. But still i think it will be Milton keyness. michel |
Lord Blackadder 15.04.2004 07:50 |
i assume milton keynes too. What other concerts do they have, how many, does anybody know? |
Polar Bear 15.04.2004 08:29 |
I'd imagine it will be Milton keynes. They're going to have to do well to top Wembly which i was very impressed with, good concert, excellent extras. Well woth the asking price in my opinion. I can see down the way a seventies complilation type job being released (hopefully keeping songs in their entirety this time..) silmilar to LEd Zep et al. |
Fenderek 15.04.2004 09:03 |
"They're going to have to do well to top Wembly" All they need to do is release sth- releasing Milton Keynes without any extras would top Wembley easily... |
The Real Wizard 16.04.2004 01:01 |
"But to me it would most likely be Budapest '86" Being as Queen doesn't own this footage, I don't think it will be the next release from QP. If that other company who released the VHS wants to release a more complete DVD, that's a different issue. "I still think that milton keyness will be released, look at the video clip on GVH II it's cleaned up both sound and video." It was mono sound. This makes me wonder whether or not they even have a stereo soundboard. But they must, as I've got the first 15 minutes of the show in perfect stereo soundboard sound quality. |
Michael Allred 16.04.2004 02:33 |
The "Staying Power" clip was in PCM stereo if I'm not mistaken. I'm willing to bet Milton Keynes will be the next concert DVD. They had to go through the footage to clean up "SP" for the GVH2 DVD so that would seem to have been a good opportunity to do the whole shebang. What kind of bonus material they could come up with is another story entirely.... |
deleted user 18.04.2004 11:50 |
Hey, why does everybody want the Milton Keynes concert as the next live Dvd release? I mean, there's so many other concerts in the vaults that have never seen the light of day. For example: all the european hot space concerts were filmed, so why not release one or two of them? |

I wondered if a stereo recording exists. Unless your 15 minutes are fake stereo, perhaps one does :) Michael Allred wrote: The "Staying Power" clip was in PCM stereo if I'm not mistaken. It's 2 channel PCM but not stereo. The easist way to check is if you have some form of surround sound, switch it on and when everything goes to center channel only, and nothing in the rear channel, it's mono. |
Pasazer 18.04.2004 14:37 |
[to FredM] Yeah, why not? Tell that QP... |

Yay! New Queen DVD's!!!!!!! |
Harry_queenrecordings 18.04.2004 16:32 |
I'm still not sure which live DVD is next. Even if they cleaned up parts of Milton keynes like on the GH2 DVD it's still mono sound and i don't think a full concert release in mono sound will happen unless they still can make it stereo or so. I hope Milton keynes but Earls court would be great too or a concert that we never seen before but i think that's more for a collectors box. |
inu-liger 18.04.2004 16:41 |
I think that Queen would have to have a multitrack of that concert, as they've recorded all of their concerts since 1974 professionally, and so they should be multitracks |
Lord Blackadder 18.04.2004 17:06 |
wont the other hot space concerts be similar to milton keynes. id rather a complete diffo tour, rather than just a diffo hot space. i want keynes or earlier plz... |
Sieren 18.04.2004 19:53 |
I am really waiting for GVH3 to come out. I would love to see more DVDs coming out with Queen! Also, I wish I could find Freddie Mercury: The Solo Collection here in the USA. I heard that it could be found but I can't find it. Sieren |
Maz 18.04.2004 20:13 |
The Solo Collection used to be at the QOL shop. Haven't looked lately, but I'd bet it's still there, although it costs an arm and a leg and a spare child. |

Michael Allred 18.04.2004 23:07 |
My DVD player indicates "SP" is PCM stereo and that's what's coming from my speakers. Regardless if the concert was recorded stereo or not, you can always remix them for surround sound. It happens all the time with movies released on DVD. |
The Real Wizard 19.04.2004 00:00 |
"It certainly was. I asked about this before after hearing that. I wondered if a stereo recording exists. Unless your 15 minutes are fake stereo, perhaps one does :)" I assure you it's true stereo. The drum fills at the beginning of the fast WWRY clearly move from one channel to the other. "I think that Queen would have to have a multitrack of that concert, as they've recorded all of their concerts since 1974 professionally, and so they should be multitracks." I'd love to believe that, but considering how Staying Power on GVH2 was in mono sound, I really don't know anymore. It may be very possible that Queen only has access to the 72 minutes of the show from the MTV broadcast. In documentaries, you rarely see anything from the concerts that aren't on the bootleg copies. The only glaring exception I can think of at the moment is Paris 79, which has a multi-cam on The Magic Years, as opposed to the single-cam bootleg video. "I am really waiting for GVH3 to come out." Why? It'll be the same stuff that's already been released! Or do you have the video of the complete Vienna 82 concert? :) |
Fenderek 19.04.2004 08:37 |
About this "Staying Power" proving that Milton Keynes is supposed to be next... Maybe they did clean it, but IT WASN'T ANYTHING NEW!!! We already had this song on "Magic Years"- the whole one, without anyone talking over it... So inclusion of it on GVH doesn't mean a thing... Full Milton Keynes would be great; personally would rather to see Hammersmith'79... One more thing.. Someone mentioned that it's different company that ownes Budapest and THEY released the video... The same is with "we Will Rock You" and if I'm not mistaken- "Live In Rio". Now- maybe if it was only up to QP, we would have never seen even those, being left with miserible stuff like "Live Magic" or "Rare Live" (apart from Wembley and "Killers")... Doesn't that mean that B. and R. aren't really interested in realising live material AT ALL- and it didn't start yesterday... Greg Brooks is saying that sth WILL BE released, but... his opinion doesn't make too much difference, does it? All I know is that just by looking through some rock magazines I see adverts of new releases of many, many previously unpublished gigs- Jimmy Hendrix (Stockholm, Los Angeles), Thin Lizzy, etc.... God, I'm so jealous...!!!! |
The Real Wizard 19.04.2004 11:36 |
"We already had this song on "Magic Years"- the whole one, without anyone talking over it..." No, there's a big cut in the middle, leaving the song to be about 2:30. "personally would rather to see Hammersmith'79..." I don't think the whole show exists. It seems that Queen doesn't want to release another live DVD soon because they'll have to match the quality standard set by Wembley. I don't think anything in their archives will match that, both audio and video. But when the day comes that I'm proven wrong, I'll be a happy man. |
