I was reading the VH1 message boards, and I came across this topic called 'Rap Demolition. link
In that thread, the posters are very keen to demolish and burn rap albums to comemorate what happened in Chicago back in 1979, the 25th anniversary of the 'Disco Sucks' movement. Some of them think that this might end Rap as a genre of music, like what happened to Disco 25 yrs ago.
Now? Do you think, if this happens, would it be a good thing to do or just one step too far?
IMO this is 'idea' is stupid. If it happens, the race card might turn up, and the shit will really hit the fan.
popularity and demolitions of musical genre is done by those who are focused to do so..... and these people seems like they got nothing better to do lol! like may be learning an instrument instead and just make a number one hit song about their disgusted rap.
this is only another work of a lame critic that has a very catchy allergic reaction to a musical taste that doesnt suite them.. and when one makes the stand all the underdogs joins!!
I just say break the barriers or atleast except it ....
god I have alot to say to the Vh1 crew!
The 'DISCO SUCKS' plan was considered by some back in 1979 as anti-gay.
I don't agree with destroying all rap, but some of it, at least everything published by Bad Boy Records should definitely be destroyed.
There's also an anti-country request.
