Nickipee 29.03.2004 01:27 |
How does this work then? Being a newbie I've generally stayed away from these threads, because whenever I looked at them they seemed either to be a big argument, or a complete out and out war... Nicki |
Kuku 29.03.2004 02:03 |
I want them so much too... but how does this "tree" work? |
Josuè 29.03.2004 02:36 |
I'd like to know what is exactly a Bootleg Tree. I know there's been a Bootleg Tree some time ago, but I don't exactly know what it is. If it something like sharing bootlegs, if I haven't got any bootleg, am I able to get that bootlegs? Someone explain please! |
Hitman 29.03.2004 05:09 |
i'm interested in this bootleg tree.i wait for details :) |
CHERRY 29.03.2004 08:23 |
I in. Just post the details. Mike GO LEAFS GO!! |
Del Pietro 29.03.2004 09:24 |
Count me in as well!!! For the ones who don't know how a bootleg-tree works: 1 person sends out some bootlegs (3 cd's in this case I thought). He or she sends them to a number of people. When those people receive their cd's they make a copy of them, and send these copies to 2 (or maybe 3) other persons that participate in the tree. And so on....... That's the whole idea! |
Nickipee 29.03.2004 09:52 |
In that case, if the cost is simply the postage onto the next person, count me in! DO I email the person my snail mail addy or what? Sorry to be so dense. Nicki |
Big Black 29.03.2004 09:55 |
Cherry, are you there? I want to get you my e-mail. |
Daragon 29.03.2004 10:18 |
If possible, count me in too :)! (I live in Belgium) |
CHERRY 29.03.2004 11:32 |
Hey BB, E mail me. mmcgucki@toronto.ca Thanks mike GO LEAFS GO!!! |
Josuè 29.03.2004 11:35 |
What must I do to participate in the Tree? |
Maz 29.03.2004 12:09 |
Del Pietro has the right idea. Basically a bootleg tree only costs postage and copying costs, so usually no more then $5. Someone sends you the discs, you make copies, then send them on to another person. In the past it really doesn't matter where you are located in the world, as the trees have reached every continent. Bullwinkle will probably tell you later today how to contact him. I'm sure he'll post what information he needs from everyone then. |
leftal lobe 29.03.2004 14:11 |
Not wanting to be rude but I feel the best way to work a vine is to only do it is as follows: 1) first very kind person makes dics of the bootleg 2) first very kind person sends the discs on to first person who has signed up 3) First person who signed up gets the discs in the post 4) First person who signed up copies the discs (to hard drive, on to cd - its their choice) 5) First person who signed up send the original discs on to the second person who signed up 6) Repeat steps 3 onwards for as many people who have signed up. This process is slower but is far cheaper (there's no multiple sending out costs or discs costs) and if there is need for speed then more than one vine can be run seperately. |

I have prepared three 3 CD packages to strategically send (probably tomorrow) to various parts of the world: Canada (Cherry), England (Bob the Shrek) and New Zealand (Polar Bear). Guys, please let me know when you get the CD's. |

Saint Jiub 30.03.2004 18:48 |
I am from the Chicago metro area, Cherry ... and the disks went out this afternoon. |
Saint Jiub 30.03.2004 22:12 |
Derek and Pieter: I got your e-mails but I still need your Queenzone nickname (for peer accountability purposes – to assure that the disks are sent to other tree participants). Otherwise, I will need to make you last to receive the disks, to help make sure that the tree has the best chance of success. I know you guys will probably be honest, but other trees have had rare problems (once?), and I want to minimize the risk of possible broke tree links. I hope you understand. CHERRY, Bob the Shrek and Polar Bear were sent disks today. Josuè, Daragon, and Nickipee are signed up for the tree. … and as a reminder, Kuku, Hitman, Del Pietro, Fat Bottomed Girl, MexQueenFM and iGSM have expressed interest in the tree, but have not yet e-mailed me their info yet. |
Saint Jiub 30.03.2004 22:53 |
leftal lobe is also signed up for the tree. |

Saint Jiub 03.04.2004 00:42 |
Kuku & Fat Bottomed Girl - You can still sign up for this bootleg tree - Just e-mail your name and address to sign up if you are still intested in the tree. There have been 21 people signed up so far with 14 (two thirds) being from Europe. There is still plenty of time to sign up for the tree if anyone else is interested. Mike VanMaldegiam aka Bullwinkle |
Kuku 03.04.2004 01:14 |
I just sent an email to Bullwinkle too. It'd be nice if he could sort the addresses according to nearest countries. (ie Canadians with other Canadians) |
Bob The Shrek 03.04.2004 02:46 |
Mike - received the disks this morning. I will be ready to send out copies on Monday morning - just need some addresses :-) |

My discs are now copied and will be in the post tomorrow. |
Kuku 04.04.2004 16:23 |
^________________^ Oh, since I haven't done this before, are there any rules as to (1) the type of CD (2) Any specific program I have to use to copy the CD (I just burn them on XP usually) (3) Any labels, covers etc? Thanks again!! |
Saint Jiub 04.04.2004 17:01 |
They need to be 700 mb / 80 minute CD's (too long for 74 minute CD's). No rules really - just use CD's from a reputable manufacturer, and make sure the songs are copied in MP3 format and accessable by Billy Gates operating system. Anyone disagree? Hold breath. |
Saint Jiub 04.04.2004 17:02 |
Fat Bottomed Girl is now signed up for the tree. |
Bob The Shrek 04.04.2004 18:24 |
I can confirm that my 3 sets are going to Nickypee, Josue & someone in Scotland whose screen name I don't know! |
Nickipee 04.04.2004 18:39 |
looking forward to receiving them Bob. Thanks |
Polar Bear 04.04.2004 19:59 |
Yes I disagree bullwinkle, if they don't work on a mac then my branch of the tree is going to be a very short one :-S. I've got a mac and if the discs are formatted for PC then they won't start up. Funnily enough! |
Saint Jiub 04.04.2004 21:19 |
Krowa003 is signed up for the tree. Bob the Shrek has copied the disks and will be sending them to Josue, Nickipee and leftal lobe tomorrow (I asked him to send out to one extra person because of the number of European participants). |
Saint Jiub 04.04.2004 22:41 |
Polar Bear - the songs are in MP3 format - like the earlier bootleg trees. How did things work for you in the earlier trees? |
NoOneButMe 05.04.2004 03:56 |
Hi everybody, I have been reading your posts and surfing the QueenZone.com since a long time ago, and now I finally enter as an official user. I really want to be part of these new bootleg tree. Can I share something with you to be involved with it or shoul I only send my address to Bullwinckle; I am writing from Mexico. Thanks a lot for your answer. |
Polar Bear 05.04.2004 05:58 |
No probs with the Mp3s before, but the video tree wouldn't play cause it had been formatted for PC. Will let you know what hapens when it gets here. I will sort something if it doesn't work on my computer. |
radio_what's_new 05.04.2004 06:51 |
hey I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE BOOTLEG TREE |
CHERRY 05.04.2004 09:03 |
Still haven't received them yet, but probably today!!! Mike GO LEAFSG GO!!!! |
Maz 06.04.2004 00:28 |
From past experience, getting goods across the US/Canadian border takes awhile. I think it takes a least a week, though probably closer to 10 days. |
Saint Jiub 06.04.2004 00:30 |
For those interested in the bootleg tree (including NoOneButMe and radio_what's_new), please e-mail me at vantricers@comcast.net your Queenzone user name and also include your name and address in the e-mail to sign up for the tree. As the tree progresses, someone will send you the 3 CD's. When you receive the CD's, e-mail me and I will give you up to two addresses to which you will send copies of the CD's. Mike VanMaldegiam |
iGSM 06.04.2004 05:50 |
Excellent. Everything is going accordion to play! *plays God Save the Queen* |
Saint Jiub 07.04.2004 02:43 |
MRACNI and daria k. are signed up for the tree. Things are going 99% according to plan ... As a courtesy, I was informed that Save Me and Now I'm Here from the Sao Paulo concert have unpredictable intermittent screeches. Last night, I looked at my "original" CD-R copy of Sao Paulo concert and found a small 1/4" long scratch where those songs appear. Evidently this scratch caused the screeching problem when I converted the concert to MP3. I will looking into seeing if I can put these songs (minus the screeches) on my web page for download. Hopefully, there are no other glaring errors in these 30 hours of music. Please let me know of any other problems the disks might have. |
thornbird34 07.04.2004 19:39 |
count me in to please |
Saint Jiub 07.04.2004 21:27 |
Thornbird34 - Please provide your address and you will be the 30th person signed up for the tree. |
CHERRY 07.04.2004 21:31 |
Still haven't come yet. I'm sure they will be here soon. Damn Canadian/USA border!!!! mike GO LEAFS GO!!! |
Polar Bear 07.04.2004 21:38 |
Mine also haven't reached me. whihc is odd because normally they would have. It normally only takes like three days for stuf to get here from the US, if it's airmail that is. |
Saint Jiub 07.04.2004 22:09 |
Polar Bear - I presume the disks went by air as Bob the Shrek in England received the disks in 4 days (and the postage costs to England or New Zealand were both similarly high). Cherry - As I recall in one of Zeni's trees, I sent you the disks and they took well over a week to get to you. It has been 8 days since I sent the disks. I am concerned, but not yet worried. If they don't arrive by next Monday, then I'll start to worry. |
Polar Bear 08.04.2004 00:17 |
They jsut arrived now. They all light up and seem to be there! Excellent! |
Nickipee 08.04.2004 02:48 |
I get 'em from Bob the Shrek. Thanks mate. Burning them now. Will be contacting both Bullwinkle and Bob later today. Nickipee |
CHERRY 08.04.2004 08:55 |
They came!!!!!!!! I checked the mail before work this momrning and there they were!!! Give me a email bullwinkle and I can start copying the disc's this weekend. Thanks Mike GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!!! |

Saint Jiub 08.04.2004 23:55 |
I found more errors on disk 3... The '78 Montreal show has screeches on 7 seven songs (an 8 song stretch of If you can't Beat them through Now I'm Here, but Killer Queen is OK)again apparently because light scratches on my original disk corrupted the conversion to MP3. Also, in Hammersmith '75, In the Lap of the Gods revisited is repeated (the second time combined consecutively with See What a Fool I've Been) due to my error in splitting tracks from a tape source. If I had known that making MP3's out of original CD's was not idiot proof, I would not have started this tree without listening 100% to these CD's. However, the vast majority of these concerts (at least 2/3 and hopefully more than 3/4) will be good quality. I am tentatively planning on correcting these errors by creating a website with links to these files (I need to check the feasibility and logistics for creating another website on Comcast, my cable ISP). I apologize for the inconvenience. |
Saint Jiub 09.04.2004 00:00 |
For those of you that have the CD's already, please inform me in this forum topic and/or by e-mail if any more defective songs are found and tell me the nature of the problem. |
Saint Jiub 09.04.2004 00:34 |
I have just successfully reconverted Save Me and Now I'm Here (both Sao Paulo) from my scratched CD to MP3 without screeches. Why did it work now? A few weeks ago, I bought a new CD burner, because CD's created on my old burner skipped in my car. Again, I want emphasize that the majority (at least two thirds) of these concerts will be ok. Less than 1/3 of these concerts were converted to MP3 from CD using my old burner (Most were converted from tape, or were originally downloaded to MP3). I believe that many of the concerts I converted to MP3 using my old CD drive will be OK. I have listened to Santa Monica (created using my old drive) and there are no screeches. I apologize again for any inconvenience. |
Saint Jiub 09.04.2004 00:43 |
For those of you that have the CD's already, please inform me in this forum topic and/or by e-mail which concerts are free of screeches (or other problems) I need some good news ... |
Bob The Shrek 09.04.2004 10:18 |
As I said in my email, Mike, I am happy with the amount of material I have received on cd's 1 & 2 and won't bother with downloading replacements. Thanks again for starting this tree. :-) |
CHERRY 09.04.2004 13:58 |
Hey Kuku and MexQueenFM, I shall have your cd's in the mail by middle of next week. due to the Easter Weekend, I don't have much time. But by Tuesday or Wednesday, they will be on their way. Thanks Mike GO LEAFS GO!!!! (only 16 wins to the cup!!) |

Belvedere is signed up for the tree. That makes 33 signed up so far ... |
Polar Bear 09.04.2004 22:44 |
Ok Montreal is full of scratches, I've listened as far as Get Down Make love and I can take no more! |
Polar Bear 09.04.2004 23:00 |
Somebody t love at Sao Paulo is buggered too. |
Polar Bear 09.04.2004 23:04 |
Ok I got as foar as Get down make love on Sao Paulo and theres screeches on STL, IILWMC GDML. |
Saint Jiub 09.04.2004 23:47 |
Here is a web site I created with three corrected songs so far ... (copy the whole link into your browser) link I am allowed 25 MB for each user name for file storage. My primary user name has 5 MB left. Fortunately I can have 6 more users of 25 MB each. I have not done this yet, but it should work ... I hope to try it tomorrow. Montreal is ok after Now I'm Here (7 buggered songs). I still have yet to listen completely through Sao Paulo (and its unfortunate electroshock treatment sound effects) to find out which songs are screwed up. I apologize again for the problems. I had no idea that my old CD reader/writer was a problem. |
Saint Jiub 10.04.2004 00:24 |
I set up two more internet accounts (25 MB each)with my ISP. I have to wait up to 24 hours to have my new accounts approved and to allot the two 25 MB slots to me. |
Nickipee 10.04.2004 05:48 |
Is it me or is most of Sao Paolo "scratched"? Haven't listened to much else, but what I have has been okay. Nicki |
Saint Jiub 10.04.2004 10:36 |
I am not sure what is scratched in Sao Paulo as I have not had the chance to listen to it all the way through. The concert came from two disks. I am hoping that only the first original disk (before Love of my Life) had scratches. As I indicated earlier, I am setting up 25 MB web pages containing the corrected songs. Using a downloadable product like NetVampire, getting the corrected files could be an overnight project while one is sleeping. Again, I apologize for the errors. Please continue to provide me with feedback regarding these disks. |
Saint Jiub 10.04.2004 15:49 |
I just listened to Sao Paulo, and all but 5 songs are scratched (01 Opening through 04 Play the Game plus 14 Love of My Life). |
Nickipee 10.04.2004 16:57 |
Can I just say Mike that I actually don't care about the "broken" bits on the CDs you sent out. I have been a Queen fan for many many years now, but have never had the money or the technology to amass much of a live collection. I was completely gobsmacked to discover that there were other Queen fans who loved the music so much that they wanted to share it - essentially for free. And although I only have the stuff you shared, and some very dodgy sound quality cassette tapes, it is my intention to share to others one day - again for free. The only thing is most of the people here at the moment have been collecting for much longer and don't need the stuff I have! So thankyou for sharing what you have, I can get Sao Paolo another time, for now I'll enjoy what I have. So don't feel bad (maybe you don't anyway!) Love and good sharing vibes Nickipee |
NoOneButMe 10.04.2004 23:09 |
Hi everybody, I agree with what Niki says, I have been collecting Queen bootlegs over the years, swaping and even paying for them from other fans around the world (Moscow, Argentina, Brazil, USA, England, etc...), sometimes a little expensive, but this time with what Bullwinkle have just started is great for all the fans that are still looking for more Queen material. Thanks for that, and maybe we can all together fix those scratches.... Nicki,I think that every fan has something strange and differente to offer to the rest of us. Who knows, probably each one of us can list their material so everybody can look at it and perhaps start some other kind of tree.... Thanks again and see you!!! |
Saint Jiub 11.04.2004 02:36 |
The following links (copy the whole of each link into your browser - clicking on the link does not work) have corrected songs without screeches (one song from Hammersmith '75 and seven songs from Montreal '78). These corrected songs will complete the Hammersmith '75 and Montreal '78 concerts and make them listenable. I am planning to correct 20 songs from Sao Paulo if I have enough web space (after any additional screechy songs are found, corrected, and placed on these web pages). link link |
Saint Jiub 11.04.2004 02:43 |
Bob the Shrek, Nickipee, and NoOne But Me: Thanks for your kind words and understanding. I am bothered by these mistakes (I wanted this tree to run smoothly). Hopefully, most people will eventually be happy with the tree (and any corrected downloaded songs), and will feel the tree was worth the unfortunate inconveniences. |
Maz 11.04.2004 09:53 |
Just keep in mind, it's not a bootleg tree without some sort of foul up. I'm sure they all appreciate your effort, Bull. |
Saint Jiub 11.04.2004 11:05 |
Thanks Zeni |
Saint Jiub 11.04.2004 23:30 |

I certainly do! Sorry if I came across the wrong way. Cheers Michael. |

Zeni - what strange brand of magic did you do to make your post an ANTI-sticky! Nicki |
Maz 13.04.2004 11:57 |
Apparently, I thought Bull needed constant encouragement. If only my magic extended to other threads. EDIT- I knew it wouldn't last. As soon as I talk about the magic, it's gone. |
Nickipee 13.04.2004 12:00 |
Shame - I quite like the idea of an anti-sticky |

For those that have the disks already ... How are disks one and two and Brian May's concert on disk 3? Free of screeches and other defects I hope? I generally only listen to Queen in my car to and from work (20 minutes each way), so it will take me about two months to listen to all the concerts/ |
Saint Jiub 14.04.2004 00:50 |
Kuku - e-mail me when you get them, and I will send you two addresses. |

I've e-mailed Nickipee about this, but just to let you all know, I've got at least one version of every live track Queen performed (excluding covers, e.g. Tutti Frutti, Jailhouse Rock etc.) apart from three songs - Great King Rat, Machines (intro) & It's A Hard Life. If anyone by any chance has a live version of these, I'd be interested in negotiating a deal where you'd let me have a copy of said tracks in exchange for any live tracks that you don't have. If you can help, e-mail me at : perry02@globalnet.co.uk |
Josuè 14.04.2004 13:31 |
Bob! I got the postmail! I received the 3 CDs! Wow, it's funny! hehehe What must I do now? To whom should I send the copys? |
Saint Jiub 14.04.2004 15:40 |
I will send out addresses to Josue and bitesthedust within the next 10 hours when I am at home. |
Saint Jiub 14.04.2004 15:52 |
Can anyone who already has the disks confirm if disks 1 and 2 are free from screeches? If there are any any problems, I would like to put the corrections on my web pages before I put the massive corrections of Sao Paulo concert on my web pages. |
Nickipee 14.04.2004 16:30 |
Have listened all through to Chicago and to Osaka 82 and have had no problems. Nicki |

Lawyeris 16.04.2004 05:25 |
So, what is the situation now - are CD's still keep going with those screeched songs, or those who have received CD's first, replaced these rejected songs with good ones and thus recovered this tree. Some problems could be for those, who have internet not at home, but at work without CD-RW device, so it would be hard to get those recovered mp3 to home. |

As far as I know, only Montreal '78 (7 songs) and Sao Paulo '81 (20 songs) have the screeches. The corrected Montreal songs are already on my mini-web pages (see beginning of page 5 for links) I have uploaded 17 of the 20 corrected Sao Paulo songs to my mini-web pages, plus I want to upload the 5 good songs as well in case anyone wants to download the whole concert. I should complete the uploads and mini web pages this weekend (perhaps tonight). Lawyeris - Perhaps someone in the tree can send you the disks later with the corrected songs (after I upload all the corrected songs). Any future European volunteers (Who have not gotten the disks yet) to send the corrected disks to Lawyeris? Has anyone downloaded any of the corrected songs from my web pages? Any problems? |

The above links (you must copy and paste the links into the browser as the hyperlinks are inoperable) are for the corrected songs for this tree: See What a Fool Ive Been (from Hammersmith '75) corrected a song splitting error by removing In the Lap of the Gods (which is already included earlier in the concert) from the beginning of See What a Fool Ive Been (see Treefix web page). Seven songs with screeches from Montreal '78 were corrected and are on the Treefix and vantricers1 web pages. Twenty songs with screeches from Sao Paulo '81 were corrected and are on the vantricers1, vantricers2, vantricers3, vantricers4, and vantricers5 web pages. Five songs from Sao Paulo did not need correction, but are included on the vantricers6 web page for anyone who might want to down load the entire concert without participating in the tree. |

hi all. i am peter, a 28 year old queenfan returning to collecting...have collected all there is to collect from my 12th untill my 18th (with focusing on liverecordings; sending boxes full of tapes over the world and visiting all recordfairs queenconventions and shops etc), then put it in a box and haven't opened that one untill about half a year ago. now i am converting all my bootleg lp's and tapes to digital versions....i can tell you, working with over 200 tapes of shows and tens of bootlegs on lp this is quite a tire-ing task... so, if i can save some time by subscribing to the tree i would be stupid not to... hereby...could you please add me to the list? peter, utrecht, the netherlands...also interested to meet other collectors in the netherlands! peter |
Saint Jiub 24.04.2004 00:29 |
thornbird34 will be sending the disks to Petboer (who just joined the tree). Yes, the European branch is moving along pretty well. Spaceboy has also joined the tree. |
Saint Jiub 24.04.2004 00:48 |
41 signed up so far ... Participants are from USA (7), Canada (2), Mexico, Australia (3), New Zealand (2), the UK (13), The Netherlands (4), Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Lithuania (2), Sweden, Austria and Serbia. |

For some reason Cyberbarn (1st CD) tracks 4 (People on street) to the end are messed up. They contain either 8kb or 0kb. I already burned the CDs... sorry guys. Any idea, Bullwinkle? |
Saint Jiub 24.04.2004 23:19 |
Well ... The Cyberbarn songs are ok for me ... How have the Cyberbarn songs been for everyone else? I presently do not have enough web space for these songs for download (even if I delete the extra already good Sao Paulo songs). Perhaps when everyone has downloaded the other corrected songs, I can upload the Cyberbarn songs? Or maybe there is another solution? |
Saint Jiub 25.04.2004 13:13 |
Hiljan has signed up for the tree. |
Shun It 25.04.2004 15:03 |
Dear all, Received the cd's yesterday!!! HOWEVER, CD2 is broken and CD3 has a scratch that makes most of the Vienna-gig unreadable... seems like there's a temporary halt in the tree! I already e-mailed Bullwinkle and Hitman what to do now. I thank Hitman for the rapid posting anyway 'cause I don't blame him whatsoever for the broken cd's, maybe the mailman got overexited, right? Anyway, those Roger vocals on Somebody To Love (every single on of them) are absolutely brilliant!!! Can't get enough of Fat Bottomed Girls either (both the song and... duh), Cheerz, Shun It PS. Sorry for not posting on the board regularly but I had trouble logging in for a few weeks... |
Saint Jiub 25.04.2004 22:02 |
Shun It, I will have the next European tree recipient send you the disks. Apparrently, some heavy package must have crushed and bent yours and daria k.'s packages enroute from Italy. |
NoOneButMe 25.04.2004 22:48 |
Hi !!! We know that the European leg is going okey, but what about the leg in the Americas??? Thanks!!! |
Saint Jiub 25.04.2004 23:00 |
Very slow - for some reason (twilight zone?), Kuku received a disk with incomplete Cyberbarn songs (my disks are ok). I am presently trying to sort that out, and come up with some sort of a solution (I have run out of web space for corrected songs). |
Saint Jiub 27.04.2004 01:14 |
The Twilight Zone has been particularly active, and/or Murphy's Law has been working overtime ... I am planning on making Kuku, Egret, and Smiley the final addressees in the North American tree to provide the Cyberbarn songs. I am having JAMIELEE (in Europe) send the disks to No One But Me to jumpstart the North American tree, as well as for insurance in case MexQueenFM's disks are crushed by the postal service or are missing Cyberbarn songs. JAMIELEE will also be sending the disks to Shun It to replace his broken and scratched disks. |
Kuku 27.04.2004 02:39 |
Cds sent today. Enjoy! |
Saint Jiub 27.04.2004 10:52 |
Polar Bear, sent the disks to iGSM yesterday. He had some inexplicable problems with copying each entire disk (insufficient disk capacity???), but he solved that issue. Kuku sent the disks (as mentioned above) to Egret and Smiley. |
iGSM 27.04.2004 10:59 |
Hooray! I didn't know the New Zealand post worked on ANZAC Day holiday? Or is that only in Australia? Anywho, hooray! |
Polar Bear 27.04.2004 23:46 |
Yep, we didn't have a holliday on Monday cause ANZAC day was Sunday. |

iGSM 30.04.2004 04:46 |
Ok then, interesting that. I would've thought that New Zealand gets the Monday off too..damned lazy Aussies. Anyway I now have the CDs and am ready to copy them and send them out..if need be. |
Smiley 01.05.2004 19:39 |
Got the cd's today, thanks KuKu. Question for KuKu did you replace all the damaged songs on the disks you sent me? Thanks Bullwinkle for getting this tree started. |

Smiley will be send the disks to Krowa003 and rendezvous. iGSM will be send the disks to Spaceboy and Mala-kot. |
Saint Jiub 02.05.2004 00:38 |

Egret will be sending the disks to Jake171819 and Derek Selek. I have notified several participants who have had the disks for more than 7 days to ask if the disks have been sent or when they will be sent. I asked this realizing that postage / customs can delay the disks, and that some participants may not have had time to burn the disks, but I need to have an accurate idea as to how the tree is progressing. There are 43 participant in the tree thus far. |

I've got my CD's at last, thanx mogge:) I tried listening to every concert and found there are concerts (4-5, cant remember, I forgot my made list at home) with lots of interrupted (cut) songs, besides 1979-12-26 HOdeon has screeches (5-6 songs). As I said before, I made my list of such discovered problems, so I'll try write them asap |
mogge 10.05.2004 06:05 |
Sorry to hear that Law. I've just finished listening to Hammersmith -79, and could not hear any screeches. Please post a list of the erratic tracks, so i can check them. Rogut, do you have errors on your discs? |

More bad news ... JAMIELEE (to Shun It) and Fat Bottomed Girl (to Apoptosis and Beledere) have not replied to my repeated e-mails and have had the disks for over two weeks. So, here they are, the problems of my (and maybe others too) CD's: I. Fukuoka (CD_1) 1. Interrupted (cut, not full) songs 1) Now I’m here – 1:37 2) Get Down make love – 1:46 Not sure about a) Put out the fire – 1:51 b) Dragon attack – 2:50 2. Only 22 songs without WWRY/WATC??? II. Hammersmith Odeon ’79 (CD_1) 3. Screeched songs – 1) Scr's slightly start in Get Down Make love 2) You’re my best friend – a little bit 3) Save me – a little bit 4) Now I’m here 5) Don’t stop me now 6) Spread Your wings III. Osaka'79 (CD_2) 4. Interrupted (cut, not full) songs 1) Teo torriate – 1:08 2) Don’t stop me now – 3:09 3) Dreamer’s bal – 1:39 4) Love of my life – 0:43 5) 39 – 2:05 6) It’s late – 2:27 7) KYA – 1:21 8) BoRha – 2:45 IV. Chicago (CD_2) 5. Interrupted (cut, not full) songs 1) Death on two legs – 0:37 2) Save me – 3:35 3) Dragon Attack – 2:10 4) KYA – 3:34 (slightly interrupted the end) 5) Sheer heart attack – 1:45 6) God save the queen – 0:59 6. Besides, KYA ends in such way like there must be Drum solo, but suddenly starts only Guitar solo. So, does drum solo supposed to be? V. Osaka'82 (CD_2) 7. WATC - slightly interrupted the end (2:49) 8. God save the Queen is absent VI. Vienna (CD_3) 9. Interrupted (cut, not full) songs 1) CLTCL – interrupted the end – 3:36 2) BoRha – 1:13 3) AOBTD – 0:33 4) Sheer Heart Attack – 0:28 VII. Hammersmith Odeon (CD_3) 10. Medley is interrupted (I’d say in a very good way, it wasn’t easy to notice), ‘cause all medley songs last 3:46, instead of real 8:01 11. GSTQ is absent For me, I have Osaka'79, Hammersmith Odeon 75, 79 songs (II, III, VII), so I dont need them and will be able change them for other queenmadzoners, but what about other - dont know where to get. Of course, maybe those songs, that I stated they are absent, they really absent and there is nothing to do with this, but I believe interrupted songs weren't suppose to be, so something is wrong. |

mogge 14.05.2004 15:49 |
Ok, i have now listened to all tracks mentioned above on the source CD's that i got from whiteman. They all have the errors Lawyeris describes, plus the earlier reported screeches that i have corrected. The Hammersmith tracks on CD1 contains some static, but not what i would call screeches. So the conclusion is that the errors cannot deriver from me. Does this mean that i'm also entitled to a new set of (complete) CD's? Bullwinkle, you state in a mail to me that your sources does not contain the errors. Then we all must help out to find where in the tree this accident happened. |
Saint Jiub 15.05.2004 01:59 |
Mogge - you and anyone else who had problems with the cut songs will get the corrected songs - probably from North American Participants. |
Saint Jiub 15.05.2004 02:08 |
Today, Egret sent disks to Derek Selek and Jake171819 while iGSM sent the disks to Mala-kot and Spaceboy. At this time there are 50 people that signed up for the tree from 6 continents. |
Saint Jiub 16.05.2004 13:03 |
Monday MexQueenFM (from USA) will send the disks to Lawyeris, while Petboer from (the Netherlands) will be sending the disks to Mogge and Rogut on Moday as well. |
Saint Jiub 16.05.2004 13:12 |
Also, I do not know how to count. This tree has participants on 5 continents - not 6. There are no participants from Antarctica or Africa. |

I just copied the discs and will send them out to Agneepath and Gary Bremener tomorrow. Enjoy! |

Well I can speed it up in Goldwave but it won't appear on the hard drive/CD. However this was done afterwards so it doesn't matter now :) I just did it because it was annoying me but it's still great :) |
whiteman 18.05.2004 15:55 |
it seems that my discs are not as good as i thought hammersmith '79 has static on a few of the tracks as mentioned by earlier posts and a few of the tracks are shorter and in some cases very short on a couple of the other shows. disc three i have not even bothered burning as i cannot download the corrected tracks due to a fault on my pc. i am sorry to Mogge for not noticing this before copying and sending them on to you but i have still to sit and listen to them all |
rendezvous 18.05.2004 19:55 |
It's weird. I had mailed out the CDs about a week and half ago, and MexQueenFM got them last week. Hmm...I wonder if I misspelled your address since we are in the same state, it shouldn't have taken that long to reach you. |
Saint Jiub 18.05.2004 22:51 |
Seeing as Whiteman had received the disks with many of the problems reported by Lawyeris, I am requesting that all participants in the EUROPEAN LEG of this bootleg tree (who have already received the disks) please check their disks (preferably the original disks sent to them) for any or all of the errors listed below, and e-mail me snd/or post in this topic their findings. Saint Jiub 20.05.2004 01:07 |
Well - I sent defective disks to the European leg. I can only hope that the North American and Australian legs are ok. My own disks are ok, so I will hope. Even if I have to restart the tree, all 50+ participants will receive complete and screech-free disks. Seeing as Bob the Shrek had received the disks from me with many of the problems reported by Lawyeris, I am requesting that all participants in the NORTH AMERICAN and AUSTRALIAN branches of this bootleg tree (who have already received the disks) please check their disks (preferably the original disks sent to them) for any or all of the errors listed below, and e-mail me and/or post in this topic their findings. Bob The Shrek 20.05.2004 05:19 |
I must admit that I copied the discs without listening to them, just to make sure the tree kept going at a reasonable pace. I will apologise to the Europeans on my branch for all the hassle, which could have been avoided if I had checked the discs in the first place. |
Nickipee 20.05.2004 07:19 |
Bob I accept your apology, and apologise myself for also not listening before sending on (OOPS). But I have to say - as a newcomer to collecting all this stuff I was pretty grateful for what I got - kind of thought that was how they came - call me naive and all that. Nicki |
Lawyeris 20.05.2004 08:50 |
I see I was first person listened CD's before I was going sent them:):):):) Very nice, very nice... Where have gone all responsibility of yours???:):):) Of course, it's for lauhg, the main thing we noticed these problems and thanx to Bullwinkle and others all the branches of the tree will be recovereed soon. |
Lawyeris 20.05.2004 08:56 |
By the way, I made an update of the noticed problems (edited my post). It looks like that screeches in Hammer Odeon 1979 start a little bit earlier than I posted - actually they slightly start in Get Down Make Love. Of course this doesn't change anything, but So, I'm waiting for CD's sent by MexQueenFan to recover my branch of bootleg and I will be ready sent right discs then |
Polar Bear 20.05.2004 18:48 |
I haven't listened to ine the whole way through either, so I'll check those soon Michael, as I'e said before I'm jsut grateful that you have made the effort to get this going and basically getting anything for the price of postage is great. Cheers PB |
Saint Jiub 20.05.2004 23:04 |
I am still listening to the disks. I have finished listening to disks one and three and am almost halfway through disk two. If the North American and Australian legs of the tree are similarly adversely affected, I plan on using my own personally listened to disks to restart the tree (which thus far has no cut songs or high pitched screeches). If I were to insist that everyone completely listen to the disks before sending them on to the next person, the box set would be released for the umpteenth time as a platinum edition before this bootleg tree would even be half completed. |
Lawyeris 21.05.2004 00:59 |
There's no need of listening every song carefully, but fast rewind and checking the end of the each song would be welcomed |

New European participants will replace the missing Cyberbarn songs for North American participants, while new North American participants would replace the cut songs for the European participants. The new Australian participants will also help to repair this tree. My web pages contain fixes for songs that ALL participants had problems with. The above fix is an attempt to solve problems specific to the European and North American trees. I will be sending out e-mails to new participants who have received the disks, but have not yet had the opportunity to send out disks. |

Since reassigning your address to Del Pietro (after you received broken disks in the mail), I found out that the European tree had many incomplete songs (cut off before the end of the song for some odd reason). I am having two North American participants (which have the complete songs) send the disks to four European participants to completely restart the European branch of the tree). I will have one of these four European participants send you the disks when they receive them (hopefully within a month). |

I've got CD's from MexQueenFan, THANX. I can say these CD's dont have those interrupted songs, mentioned before (except some, but those arent full on original bootleg too, as Bullwinkle reported to me). So I will be able replace bad songs with good ones and sent already recovered CD's. What more, these CD's of American branch also has those screeched (or scratched) songs in HammerOdeon'79, but this is no problem, 'cause I have my good copy of this concert, so I can fix it too. Besides I'll replace interrupted RockRoll Medley of HammerOdeon'75 with full one. Cheers |

Disc 2? I'm afraid it's not such a spectacular thing, really... it's just that I was fortunate enough to be quite an early recipient of the tree BUT disc 2 was broken and some of disc 3 was unplayble! Bullwinkle was kind enough to solve the problem like this (thanx once again!) Meaning, while I've been longing for disc 2 ever since, I'm already rather spoiled cause enjoying the entire disc 1 for instance for weeks already!!! Damn, those Roger Taylor backing vocals are absolutely thrilling! "You've got the cutest ass I've ever seen, knock me down for a six anytime!" Hilarious... cheerz, (Don't Fun It) Shun It |

Planned Disk 1 delivery (Cyberbarn fix) to North America: 4 sent from Europe. 2 assigned from Europe. Planned Delivery to Australia: 1 sent from within Australia. Planned Delivery to Asia 1 sent from Australia. |

I was thinking of replacing my SaoPaulo, and Montreal selected song downloads (fix screeches) with fixes for several abruptly cut songs (Europe only problem). Does any one still plan on downloading these ( I will keep Hammersmith '79 available)? If no one objects, I will likely be changing to download songs in the next few weeks when the tree regains its health (trading of complete and error free songs on all disks). |

For those in Europe (from early in the tree) that have the disks, but some songs are cut short - I am plannining to upload the correct length songs to my web page (replacing the songs corrected for screeches that have been available for download for over two months). I hope to do this by the end of this weekend ... hopefully. |

Saint Jiub 03.07.2004 14:53 |
Edit: I have now made songs available that were mysteriously cut short in the European leg of the tree months ago (all newer participants of the tree will be receiving corrected versions). The songs will replace the song corrections (high pitched screeches) from Sao Paulo 81 and Montreal 78 that have been available for 2-1/2 months. The four web pages of corrected songs are listed below: link link link link |
Saint Jiub 03.07.2004 18:02 |

I currently do not have room to upload the missing Cyberbarn songs that were missing on the North American leg of the tree. There are now 5 existing North American Participants (two of which I can not get a hold of) who have not recieved a replacement disk for Cyberbarn. When I find people no long need the above corrected songs from Hammersmith 79 (that had horrible static), I will upload the Cyberbarn songs if still necessary. |

The tree is slowly getting back on track: 21 people are complete and have all the songs (7 people from North America, 7 from Europe, and 7 from Australia, New Zealand and Asia). 1 person from Europe is content with what he has. 9 people from Europe were informed that they can complete their tree via download, but have not had a chance to respond to my e-mail (less than 1 week). 1 person from Europe indicated that he already had all the corrections and I asked him to double check to make sure as some were uploaded a week ago. 1 person from Europe stopped responding after receiving (corrupt) disks and now their e-mail address is cancelled. 1 person from Europe was sent (corrupt) disks but has never acknowledged receiving them and does not answer e-mail. 2 people from North America were sent (corrupt) disks but have never acknowledged receiving them and do not answer e-mail. 6 people from Europe have been sent disks (although 2 people have been waiting over a month since they were reportedly sent). 6 people from Europe have been assigned to receive disks but have not been sent them yet (two people were assigned to receive them over 3 weeks ago). 2 North Americans have been sent Disk 1 to replace the missing Cyberbarn song. 1 north american has been assigned to receive the disksbut have not been sent them yet. 6 North and South Americans are waiting to be assigned. 11 Europeans are waiting to be assigned. |

Hello, I’ve found yesterday this forum only by chance and being long years Queen fan I’d be very interested to join this tree. I think I catched all rules so question is: Is it still possible to join this tree for me ? It’d be perfect to find a new horizons of Queen music (as all I have from these old times is Rainbow ’74) and that’s why I’m asking just now. Thank you. Libor, Czech republic, Europe |

Today, I sent the disks to daria k. and MRACNI, who had worse luck with this tree than the average tree participant. In the previous shipment attempts, they had endured broken disks, blank disks, lost packages, and packages returned to sender. Hopefully this 3rd attempt will be successful. |
Roy ® 24.07.2004 04:53 |
Bullwinkle, what is at this moment the situation about the tree, i mean, how many people are at this moment active in the tree. And how many people are waiting at the cd's |
Saint Jiub 25.07.2004 00:23 |
72 people in the tree thus far ... 24 people are complete and have all the songs (8 people from North America, 9 from Europe, and 7 from Australia, New Zealand and Asia). 1 person from Europe is content with what he has. 7 people from Europe were informed that they can complete their tree via download, but have not responded to my e-mails (I consider them complete unless they inform me otherwise). 1 person from Europe stopped responding after receiving (corrupt) disks and now their e-mail address is cancelled. 1 person from Europe was sent (corrupt) disks but has never acknowledged receiving them and does not answer e-mail. 1 person from Europe was sent (corrupt) disks and acknowledged receiving them, but was not assigned addresses at the time because of corrupt CD issues. Since that time, I notified him about my available downloads to correct his disks, but he has not answered my e-mails. 2 people from North America were sent (corrupt) disks but have never acknowledged receiving them and do not answer e-mail. 5 people from Europe have been sent disks but the disks have not arrived yet. 11 people from Europe have been assigned to receive disks but have not been sent them yet (two people were assigned to receive them over 3 weeks ago). 1 North Americans have been sent Disk 1 to replace the missing Cyberbarn song. 1 North American has been assigned to receive the disks but have not been sent them yet. 7 North and South Americans are waiting to be assigned. 10 Europeans are waiting to be assigned. |
Saint Jiub 25.07.2004 23:28 |
Geoff from Australia sent the disks (about 10 days ago) to rezurected in the Ukraine and Caspar in the Netherlands. As there are seven packages enroute to European participants, and none enroute to North and South American participants, I have reassigned one of Brandon's addresses. Instead of sending to Apoptosis in the UK, Brandon will send to mickyparise in the USA (in addition to Brandon's current assignment of Richard in Virginia USA) I believe that this is best for the overall speed of the tree. I also promised Apoptosis that she will have here addy assigned to whichever European is next to receive the disks (there are 7 packages enroute to Europe). |

I sent out the following e-mail to ten participants" "To keep my e-mail mailbox less cluttered … Here is another mass mailing to (10 tree participants) … Due to several mix-ups, It has come to my attention that some participants may still be missing most Cyberbarn songs (8th concert of disk one - songs 4 to 10) and still has Hammersmith ’79 songs with bad static (6th concert on disk one - songs 11 to16 with 15-SYW and 16-DSMN especially bad). I will upload Cyberbarn corrections to my mini web pages – hopefully this weekend - for you to download if necessary. Hammersmith ’79 corrections are already available in the following links: link link Please check Hammersmith 79 and Cyberbarn on your disks one (if you have received it yet). Please let me know if you have a problem, and if you were able to correct it through downloading. Thanks Mike VanMaldegiam aka Bullwinkle" As far as I can tell these are the only tree participants that MIGHT be affected. Nevertheless, I recommend that other tree particpants check that Hammersmith '79 is without static (tracks 12 to 16 - 15 and 16 are the worst culprits) and all 10 songs of Cyberbarn play. |
Saint Jiub 01.08.2004 02:17 |

By my records, there are 10 packages in the mail currently, and 11 more packages that are assigned and still need to be sent. |

Saint Jiub 22.08.2004 23:17 |
Lisa - It is organized chaos ... and at least half of the problems originated with me ... If I had things running smoothly, you would have gotten the disks in less than a month (rather than the over six weeks you experienced). Some tree participants have been waiting up to 3 months (hopefully they will get their disks soon). Of course some of the problems were not under my direct control, and I do think I have made the best out of several unideal situations ... |
Saint Jiub 22.08.2004 23:20 |
The tree is now over 75% complete. By my records, there are now 9 packages in the mail currently, and 9 more packages that are assigned, but still need to be sent. |

Of course you do not need to send the disks again. Please let me know exactly what issues you have - either here or to my e-mail. I cannot fix the problem if I am not told exactly what the problem is. I am hoping that the corrected songs can be downloaded from my web pages for those that need them. |

Packages have been sent to the remaining 6 participants (in the second half of September): ThomasQuinn send the disks on 16th to mickyparise. Apoptosis sent the disks on the 17th to Craig_Aussie. John_59 sent the disks on the 17th to jericho04. Hiljan sent the disks on the 20th to Cheribino. Oberon sent the disks on the 27th to Gunpowder Gelatine and Libor2. Hopefully these packages will arrive safely and the disks will be ok. However, something might go wrong, and I maybe asking some participants who have not been previously requested to send disks to copy and send the disks to complete the tree. |

I sent out an e-mail to all those I believe might have screechy songs (6 songs in Montreal 78) or songs with static (7 songs in Hammersmith 79). These problems originated early in the tree which I thought were corrected, but evidently were not for a few people. Anyway - here are the links to the corrected songs: link link link If you did not receive an e-mail from me, your Montreal '78 and Hammersmith '79 concerts are probably OK. |

Craig_Aussie is the only one who has not received his disks yet. Barring the discovery of any additional problems (fingers crossed), this tree should be completed soon. |

For anyone who has not been assigned to send disks: Can I have a volunteer to send the disks (with the downloaded corrected songs) to Australia as the original package for Craig_Aussie appears to be lost in the mail? Thanks Mike |
Lawyeris 08.10.2004 03:24 |
I could sent them |
Libor2 08.10.2004 09:37 |
I could do it too, Mike. |

Thanks Libor2 - I will e-mail the Craig_Aussie address to you tonight. Lawyeris - thanks for the offer, but you have already send disks to two people (you've done your time). |

Libor2 sent the disks to Craig_Aussie on October 13. |

Guys, is it too late to take part in this bootleg tree? It seems I'm always too late :(... I feel very crappy to ask it now, after all this time, but I've never read this topic before, as I didn't have a PC of my own until last month and didn't use to search for Queen music online (since I had no PC to listen to). Now of course things have changed and I'm very interested in Queen concerts, I love to collect anything, I download every day rare and live tracks... but the blasted bittorrent just won't work on my PC. So I have to ask it in an apparently shameless manner (but I'm very ashamed, I can tell you): Is anyone so kind to send me the 3 cds PLEASE? Of course, if no one volunteers I won't get upset (obviously), since I'm sooo late, but... oh well, please just tell me if there's anything to do about it and what to do, whom to e-mail my adress to (if anyone volunteers)... I guess I want those bootlegs so badly, I could do anything to get them, PLEASE! |

I've just tried to take part. I've emailed him and am waiting for an answer. |

The tree has been done for over two months and has been closed to new entrants for almost 5 months. I recommend getting two gig of Queen stuff and joining the queen hub. I finally joined it a few weeks ago and it is excellent. |
