I've only heard so far from two schools of seven that I applied to, and I got into both of them -- my "realistic" first choice, and my "I'd like to go here but won't get in" choice. (Although I applied to the film program at that school and am still waiting for that letter.)
I'm so happy!
My guidance counselor had no faith in me and basically told me to only apply to art schools cos I wasn't smart enough to get into "hard" schools, and that I had "no chance" at the school I got into.
:)
Let that be a lesson, my friend. Don't depend on a guidance counselor to set the course of your life. You had faith in yourself and it worked. I was in a similar situation at your age. I didn't fit any mold including jock, prep, or hood. This must have confused my counselor, so nothing was offered to me. I had to seek my future on my own. Good luck in all you do!
"But remember.. you don't really need to go to college to be successful. Look at all the people who never went to college.. Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, and Frank... the dude who pumps my gas."
LMAO! Where did that show go?! I saw a couple of episodes of it a year or two back and it was really good!
