ok i love this bee gees song...in fact all bee gees stuff...but do any of you rocky horror fans here the opening to i've gotta get a message to you and science fiction/double feature almost identical! they're the same but in a diff key it sounds! just a few alterations here and there....anyways just wondering if anybody else had noticed this....btw i also just love i started a joke, words and holiday, and well...all of them!
I do not know about the "Rocky Horror" thing, but I do like the Bee Gees. I like the early songs you mentioned and I also like their later material such as "Still Waters" and "This Is Where I Came In".
early bee gees music always struck a chord with me...it's so melancholic...yes i'm a fan of the later stuff as well...they're geniuses...but for some reason always been drawn to more depressive material :D
I love the Bee Gees! Robin Gibb's voice is so pure and fraught with emotion. He can make me cry ,even on a happy song.
I once wrote a poem about one of their concerts( in an open air pavillion after a violent rainstorm) and sent it to him, at the urging of other Gibb fans. Never heard back, though(sigh).
One of my favorites is "World" where barry and Robin trade off vocals, then unite for a soaring finish!
Susan,with silly grin on face
..and of course it rains every day..
Ahh, yes, No One But You, thank you for posting those sweetly sad lyrics. How perfect to consider, the ever present rain, when you are blue and lonely and broken hearted.
So simple, yet eloquent.
Robin takes suffering to a higher level, as in his accusing line
You don't know what its like to love soembody the way i love you.
I gotta get off this topic because i will just ramble on and on....
