I eat there quite often. If it is bad service, I have never had bad service there, and I have eaten at probably 7-8 different Bob Evans. If you ask around, there is probably someone who complains about the service at Sardi's or the Four Seasons. As far as bad food, I have had none. My philosophy is that any restaurant that has had a code violation is the BEST place to eat afterward because they are really watching their p's and q's as far as food safety. Maybe not some fly-by-night restaurant, but the national chains do because they have a reputation and a bottom line to protect.
I got very sick from a local Italian place once and felt the very least I deserved was a refund for my misery, but the asshole manager refused to accept the fact that his food made me sick. So he ended up losing a customer permanently over something like $15 plus I reported them to the health department.
Prior to that I've found a fly in the bottom of a container of Horsey Sauce from Arby's which I stole (how's that for instant karma!)
Some sort of little worm in the bottom of a drink from KFC.
And I just happened to stop eating a hamburger long enough to notice the little legs of a bug sticking out from a local chain called 'Spangles'.
Also, Burger King ripped me off for $2 years ago after I gave them $5.18 for my $3.18 value meal and they claimed I gave them exactly $3.18. I made the mistake of pulling up from the drive-thru while they counted the money rather than sitting there until I got my money so of course I didn't get it.
God damn those fuckers anyway! Thanks for reminding me!
Edit: I used to steal the little brown ashtrays from McDonald's too.
Are you sure we weren't friends in High School, DF. You speak, act, and get pissed off at the same stuff as someone I knew back then.
I feel 17, misunderstood, and angst-ridden all over again whenever I read your posts like that.
I've explained before that I'm actually two people, each 16.5 years old. One is very depressed, the other very hyper and 'manic'. I'm not claiming multiple personality disorder or anything, but my mood swings feel like this.
You all wouldn't believe how fucked up I am. :) Me too.
You know what place is just absolutely the most disgusting restaurant never to go to?
Boston Market.
Oh my GOD... sure, the food may seem great on the outside, but once you eat it... that's it, you're done. My whole family and I got sick from it like years ago and I was afraid to eat for months.
Probably that stupid undercooked chicken. >:[
Oh -- and I don't like McDonald's either. When I was little, I found a bone in my chicken nugget and that did it for me. Ugh.
