i agree show must go on and somebody to love....however he was amazing whatever and always sends a shiver of some kind down my spine (no pun intended!) ;D
We all know that LOML, STL, and TSMGO are among the best, so I'll choose some under-rated ones:
White Man
Save Me
Friends Will Be Friends
Scandal
There's also a part near the end of the 12" version of It's A Hard Life not on the album version. I just love that extra bit.
Mother Love
somebody to love
my melachony blues
spread your wings
its late
who wants to live forever
we're all gods people
i can't live with you
the show must go on
hammer to fall
etc
We also must keep in mind, it's not only the lead vocals we should be looking at here. There are so many Queen songs where the background vocals really make it, such as:
I'm In Love With My Car
The Prophet's Song
It's Late
The Miracle
I agree with Flashman about the "Flash" song... his voice is so high that I can barely understand what he's singing but it's just amazing.
How about You and I, as one of the songs? I LOVE Freddie's voice in this.
"his voice is so high that I can barely understand what he's singing but it's just amazing."
What's so amazing about it? It's falsetto, and just about anyone can hit it.
His chest voice, and the way he could sustain his upper range. Not to mention, songwriting. Few people have written pop-oriented tunes that last through the ages and still sound fresh like Fred's.
