So I've been waiting about 3 months to get a larger satellite dish upgrade (for free) which would allow me to get local channels (they come from a different satellite)
Then just before my scheduled date, they call and tell me it'll be another month because they're out of dishes. LOL. So I find a local retailer who will do the upgrade for $24.95 which isn't bad. Today he shows up and tells me there's no way I can get a signal from the new satellite because of trees! Grr!
I'm not going through the whole tree-trimming nightmare again.. did that once. Very costly.
So all I've got is Fox because they apparently allow anyone to have a Fox channel if they want.. the other networks are not as nice. But locals from other areas are available on the regular satellites so I'm considering doing something slightly unethical..
For a year or so prior to going on the waiting list, I was getting locals from another town by giving them a fake address. I told them it was my ex-wife's place and I wish to keep the same billing address. Clever eh? Well, I had to end that when I found out I was eligible finally for locals here anyway... but now that's not going to happen.
Should I lie to them again? I'm not good at it but it worked before and all I want is to be able to watch ER on Thursday nights! Damn it!
Tell ya what, if you decide to go straight I'll give you the lowdown on ER every Friday at 4.00pm GMT
But my advice is to get that Ex of yours to send them a letter!
woooohoooo!
I did it! It feels so good to be bad. Not that I'm really doing anything wrong here.. I'm paying for the stations and they are commercial-driven and originate from so-called free airwaves anyway (I failed to mention that I'm right on the city limits, have a major tree problem and simply can't get decent reception via antenna, yet my waivers are always rejected)
Thanks for listening.
Well I get it at 9 pm Central.. same time as the national feed at 10 Eastern, so no delay here. It's delayed for the West Coast by 2 hours I think.. that stuff gets confusing.. they are 3 hours later than East, but 2 hours later than me.. well, my Fox channel is from L.A.- I chose that one on purpose so I'd have a 2nd chance to catch stuff particularly on Sunday nights plus when there's football, that West Coast feed isn't changed any which I like.
Last year there was a King of the Hill episode joined in progress thanks to football, yet I got to see the whole thing from the L.A. channel 3 hours later.
That's it.. it's actually 3 hours later but by their time they show it only 2 hours later than me. Or something.
Are you in the U.S. Togg?
