What a band these guys kick ass! Anyone going to see them in london? |
Mr Coolest Cat 11.03.2004 06:48 |
There is already a large number of bands dedicated to Queen that have been on the UK & European circuit for a while now. |
The Mir@cle 11.03.2004 06:53 |
But this time I agree with Steve. The Miracle is really one of the bests. I don't come to London cause I'm Dutch, so I can see them in my own country. |
Mr Coolest Cat 11.03.2004 06:58 |
Looking at their web-site and speaking on here with their lead singer, i would say amatuers like Miracle should stay in the Netherlands, we already have numerous professional bands in the UK, bands who spend more than 3 hours a week in rehearsal, and listening to Miracle's sound files my god, i felt sorry for the cat they were strangling. |

Awww... Poor kitty! :'( |
Maz 11.03.2004 11:49 |
You'll have to excuse Harvey. He's not used to playing well with others. |
Mr Coolest Cat 11.03.2004 12:15 |
You'll have to excuse Zeni, she thinks she knows everything about everybody, the new improved version is no better either. |
Maz 11.03.2004 12:23 |
Touche, dear Harv. Your stinging comment has left me speechless. At least now, you have the nerve to attack me openly and not hide behind some newly-created persona. Cheers |
PieterMC 11.03.2004 12:29 |
I think that Harvey has some sort of major chip on his shoulder. Do you think that people in Mercury are the only people that are allowed to have a Queen tribute band? From the sound clips I have heard of Miracle, they sound very good. For some reason you are on a crusade to bash other tribute bands. |
Mr Coolest Cat 11.03.2004 12:40 |
New improved Zeni, same old crap |

I'll say, Zeni... I have heard Miracle even before they were known as Miracle. One example of Miracle outside of Holland is, for example, the Queen convention in 2002. I have never heard The prophets song performed live before this (Queen didn't even do that!). I've been told that Jacky even left her beer to watch this, and I think that says something... They may practice for just three hours a week, but that's just the practice they have together, that's not counting the practice they do themselves at home. Besides... every Miracle-member is a Queen-fan. They know the music by heart! They also don;t have to study an 'act', since Miracle are Queen-sound-alikes, not look-alikes... |

I went to see 'Magic' in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago and they restored my faith in tribute bands. They don't go out of their way to sound or even look like Queen yet still manage to put on a great show. I sincerely hope that 'Miracle plays a few dates in Scotland as I have heard nothing but great things about them. The worst tribute band I have ever seen has to be 'Mercury'. I saw them in Ayr in February and they were so bad that not only did I walk out, I felt like hanging around the stage door afterwards and kicking the shit out of them. Mark my words, if they ever set foot in Scotland again I will break every bone in their talentless bodies and boot them back down the A1. Fucking tossers. fatty. |
RMT 11.03.2004 16:14 |
I've seen Magic and wasn't particularly struck on them. I quite like Killer Queen, plus there a few that I have seen and thought positive things about. My favourite though has to be Queen Rocks as basically there is no pretence, they just play the music (and play it damn well!). |
Kuku 12.03.2004 02:00 |
"The worst tribute band I have ever seen has to be 'Mercury'." Hahaha... Hails to Fatty! Miracle is DAMN IMPRESSIVE! I don't know that many tribute bands... I shouldn't be the judge... but so far from what I heard they are gorgeous. |
AyreonQ 12.03.2004 02:05 |
Well I like Miracle very much, cause you can see although they might not rehearse together a lot (I know they want more), the sound is perfect. When you go to a gig than you are sure to have a good time. They are very good musicians and good friends. They don't back out for a challenge like the Prophet's Song. What I don't like at all is pretenders (like Mercury or Queenmania or any other so called coverband) that prance around on stage and learn the Magic show out of there heads or copy any other live performance and BE Freddie. If I want to see Freddie Mercury I'll watch a video!! Miracle plays real music. The rest(Mercury, Queenmania, JSS, others...)is all an act. |
Pim Derks 12.03.2004 02:20 |
"I have never heard The prophets song performed live before this (Queen didn't even do that!)."" They did - from 1975 to 1977 I think. Miracle live kicks ass - their live-albums aren't that good IMO. I've got the first one and heard snippets from the new one , but somehow it doesn't get me - while their live shows are great. By far the best coverband I've seen, though Nilsson @ the DQM in 2000 was also great, but they weren't a real coverband, they just did a Queen set. |
Black-Rose 12.03.2004 06:29 |
When and where are Miracle playing in London, I can't see any mention of it on the future gigs listing on their website. Miracle are the best tribute band I have ever seen or heard and after 15 conventions I have heard a few. |
ilizarov 12.03.2004 07:02 |
Theres a Nortern-Irish tribute band called Flash Harry that are meant to be very good; I have never had the pleasure of seeing them live though. |
agneepath9 12.03.2004 07:29 |
I've only ever seen one tribute band..." Magic - a kind of queen" and they were great... super harmonies! and a decent setlist too! |
wstüssyb 12.03.2004 09:07 |
I have never heard The prophets song performed live before this (Queen didn't even do that!). Ummmm yea they did here you go, sitting here thinking you know it all, and yet you cant get a simple fact correct =-) |
S@turn 12.03.2004 10:42 |
Queen cover bands are okay, they bring back the memories of QUeen.... As long as people enjoy singing the songs of others, and as long as others enjoy to listen to them then it is fine I think Songs sang alive or not, no group shall ever come close to the original THere are good bands, sure Miracle is the best Dutch cover band, they are doing a good deal, but that counts as well for some other bands from other countries And yes, there is crap too, and yes, I am looking forward to hear the best german coverband mayqueen playing in March at the queenparty in waalre |
ApollyonQ 12.03.2004 12:28 |

inu-liger 12.03.2004 12:33 |
Just out of curiosity, are there any Canadian Queen tribute bands that are still playing? |
Johnnie 12.03.2004 13:50 |
Fact: Queen never >recorded< the Prophet's Song >live |
Black-Rose 13.03.2004 06:11 |
So Johnnie, Are you playing in London soon ? Luv Julie XX |
Mr Coolest Cat 13.03.2004 06:12 |
Hey Fatty, had your ears shringed lately?, they must be full of haggis, or it could be all those droning bagpipes, stick to listening to the Krankies mate, and the A1 is the best thing to come out of Scotland. |
Sir Archie 'Tiffany' Leach 13.03.2004 06:40 |
Sorry Fatty old bean I must question your wisdom on the demeaning of the band 'Mercury'. I may have been well sloshed but I have a hazy rememberance of them being quite good. In fact a cringeworthy memory was dancing at the front of the venue with Flashman and touching 'Brian May's' foot, which thrilled me no end. I also remember tapping off with a bird with hair like Sideshow Bob and Flashy got a right stunner (so he tells me). Infact unless a tribute band starts off well with there first three songs I'm oblivious to it all. Mind you that said Killer Queen were awesome (for three songs anyway). The rest is a blur of Brian May wig, vodka and a crown green bowling green. Oh how we laughed in the cells. |
-fatty- 2850 13.03.2004 07:53 |
Your absoloutely right Mr Goldsmith. I am one of those stereotypical Scotsmen you read about in comics. A typical day for me would start at 6.00am and after donning my kilt and 'see you Jimmy hat' I would enjoy a breakfast of porridge washed down with a half bottle of whisky. Then with my haggis sandwiches packed in my sporran, it's off to the highland games I go. After a busy morning of tossing cabers I go roamin in the gloamin and shout 'OCH AYE THE NOO' at the top of my voice. I return home each evening and after eating more haggis washed down with 6 bottles of whisky I put on my Krankies cd and do the highland fling. I settle down to watch the fitba on telly and enjoy watching Scotland get beat 12-0 by the Patagonian paperboy eleven. Then I wink suggestively at my sheep and we have an early night. I am all those things and more. What puzzles me is what part of my stereotypical Scottish image prohibits me from liking one particular Queen tribute band. The reason I thought Mercury were shite has nothing to do with being Scottish. The reason I thought Mercury were shite was because they were shite. Just like the reason you are a half witted waste of skin has nothing to do with the fact you are English. It's because you have no redeeming features to speak of. Now if you would like to debate this any further might I suggest that you back up your argument with something a little more credible than tired old racist bullshit. fatty. |
Sir Archie 'Tiffany' Leach 13.03.2004 08:17 |
'after donning my kilt and 'see you Jimmy hat' Please let that be the title of your autobiography Fatty. Absolutely priceless. |
Mr Coolest Cat 13.03.2004 09:21 |
A funny Scotsman, now there's a novelty. |
