As some of you may or may not know, I am doing a Masters Degree in Computer Science at Queens University, Belfast.
As some of you may or may not know, my course involves a year of professional experience.
So basically we have to keep applying to companies and sitting interviews until we get accepted somewhere.
I sat my first ever interview yesterday. They said they would get back to me in 2 - 3 weeks. I received an email today (almost exactly 24 hours after the interview actually), offering me the job.
I am a very happy camper.
Well done, David! I can imagine you must feel quite relieved now, as you mentioned being nervous about the whole job interview in your last e-mail.
Big congratulations to you!
Thanks everyone, I appreciate each and every one of the messages :-)
I was very surprised, as it was my first serious job interview. I'm also relieved that I wont have to do any more of them for a while!

I suppose it depends on the Uni, but I dont see any reason why you should need a maths A-Level to study computer science. I was worried that I wouldnt do well because I dont have an A-Level in maths and I'm coping fine withoout it. Not having a level maths should not hold you back at all.
Congratulations David - glad to see all the hard work paying off now.
As a side note - my nephew has been accepted by Colchester Institute to study a BA(Hons)in Music. He also has an acceptance from Kingston University and on Monday I am taking him to Leeds Uni for his interview.
Not everyone in my family is stupid!
Cheers Fatty and Bob, and congrats to Bob's nephew! (he's the drummer isnt he Bob?)

I changed my name to 'John Deacon' to wind someone up and then changed it back to my 'normal' name...I had totally forgotten that I had been using 'DeaconGone' for the last few months! But I think I'll just stick with DeaconJohn now...if thats alright with you of course ;-)
