to ban Gay Marriage. Sheesh. This whole issue about Gay Marriage is not about morals anymore. It doesn't have to do with religious right wing family values fanatacism! When will Bush learn to accept the fact that the thousands of gay and lesbians couples are getting married not only as a form of commitment and everlasting love, but as a form of protest for equal rights as any heterosexual couple?! I hope this amendment gets turned down by Congress, and Bush ejected from the presidential seat. Now, discuss :D |
Saffron Caribou 24.02.2004 23:23 |
Wait wait, perhaps I'm wrong. Bush has no conception of the word "understanding", right? Hmmmm. Makes me wonder. ;) Still this decision is violating the right for each state to be an autonomy, and decide their own laws. A question. Hawaii is the only state that grants marriage liscenses to same sex couples, right? Or is it labeled as civil unions? |
Saint Jiub 25.02.2004 00:31 |
Gee ... and all this time I thought it was about practical things like death, taxes and health issues. |
Penis - Vagina 25.02.2004 00:39 |
I don't have the strength for any sort of debate on this. To me, it's quite simple. Adults of any sex have the right to make their relationships legal and binding. People who view it as some sort of threat to their own marriages, or society, or religion, are narrow-minded idiots living in the past. And Bush is an asshole. |
Fenderek 25.02.2004 08:34 |
< 100 % AGREED! Those who are against gey marriages are stupid twats living still in middle ages... |
Fenderek 25.02.2004 08:35 |

< Bush, learn and accept- how those three words can be used in one sentence...?:) it cant be LOL |
*the Time Guardian* 25.02.2004 08:45 |
Every time I see his name I want to scream. Bush is a bastard |
Mr.Jingles 25.02.2004 08:48 |
Let's see the good side of this situation... this is another good reason for Bush to not be re-elected. Whether you're in pro or against gay marriages, the truth is that the president of the United States has far more important things to worry about. Perhaps because nowdays the rumors started to spread that the CIA might have any knowledge that 9/11 was going to happen. So I guess that now the Bush administration wants the media to focus on other issues. |
Hank H. 25.02.2004 08:51 |
Bush is an amazingly stupid president. His opinion will soon be completely outdated, like the human rights issues from the 50s and 60s are today self-evident. By the way, Dick Cheney's daughter is a lesbian... she should have some influence there, shouldn't she? |
Mr.Jingles 25.02.2004 08:52 |
Another one who pisses me off is Arnold Schwarzenneger. The guy thinks that gay marriages are immoral, yet he has a history of abuse towards women. Now he wants to pass a whole bunch of anti-immigration laws, yet he wants immigrants (like himself) to have the right to run for president. Shame on the people from California who voted for him. |
MexQueenFM 25.02.2004 12:24 |
Dubya won't get relected, the mayor of San Fran called him a shame, good on him |
Catgoddess 25.02.2004 12:43 |
So are there any Americans here who voted for him? |
MexQueenFM 25.02.2004 12:45 |
for Dubya? my family voted for Gore, but Dubya bought the votes, it was all done by his brother in Florida |
Catgoddess 25.02.2004 12:54 |
It;s just that no-one says anything good about him yet some ppl must hav voted for him. |
MexQueenFM 25.02.2004 13:00 |
yeah, who knows? , he might get reelected, i wouldn't doubt it |
Mr Coolest Cat 25.02.2004 13:02 |
Well done George, keep up the good work for another 4 years. |
geeksandgeeks 25.02.2004 14:58 |
You'd think Bush would have more important things to focus on, but apparently not. After all, he wants to send men to Mars. To bring back photos of more rocks. You'd think we have enough photos of rocks on Mars, but the President wants us to photograph every single rock on the planet and will stop at nothing. Great going, Mr. President! Even more important than photographs of red rocks, he MUST eliminate the threat once and for all of two people loving each other and wanting to act upon that. This heinous crime against humanity must be stamped out IMMEDIATELY!!!! Come on. Give me a break. Bush is the one committing the crime against humanity. |
NoOneButYou1975 25.02.2004 15:13 |
yeah, who knows? , he might get reelected, i wouldn't doubt it he wasnt elected the first time :P |
MexQueenFM 25.02.2004 15:33 |
"he wasnt elected the first time :P " Exactly, so he will do it again me thinks |

Don't forget that the Democrats are not for this gay marrige either. I'm not a Bush fan to say the least, but don't put it all on him. I think that marrige is reserved for a man and a woman. On the other hand I firmly believe that homosexuals have every right to have the same rights when it comes to a partner dying and recieving all the benifits that one would if married in the traditional sense. They should have all those rights. Even children if they desire. |
Wreckage 25.02.2004 16:55 |
What bothers me about this is that he (Bush) still hasn't explained how the 'institution of marriage' will be defended by denying the right to do so to homosexuals. I think proposing by attempting such a drastic measure against gay marriages, Bush is going to lose himself virtually all homosexual voters (of whom 30% voted for Bush in 2000) and a lot of moderate/centrist voters (not a smart move when the next presidential election looks like being fairly cloasely run), Anyway, it will be a good few years before this becomes law (and I doubt it will attract the required Congressional and state majorities anyway - and hurrah for that, I say). |

didja know that Cheney flunked out of Yale? twice? oh, I am SO full of useless trivia today.... the whole gay marrage ban is awful. and bad. and stupid. and useless. its really a shame that the presidential term is 4 years, id have liked to get rid of bush ages ago. |

Every American i have recently spoken to can't stand the sight of George Bush or anything he stands for, who the bloody hell voted him to office?. |
Mr.Jingles 26.02.2004 18:08 |
<< Every American i have recently spoken to can't stand the sight of George Bush or anything he stands for, who the bloody hell voted him to office? >> I can answer that... - Religious freaks - Racist people and other bigots. - Extreme right wing nuts - Narrow minded people who can't think outside the box. Perhaps the reason why you haven't spoken to them, is because they're so stupid that they don't even know how to use a computer. |
Maz 26.02.2004 18:16 |
"Perhaps the reason why you haven't spoken to them, is because they're so stupid that they don't even know how to use a computer." That's certainly one theory. Or, as I suspect, the average American Queen fan simply did not vote for him. Those that follow a "homosexual band" were not the targeted demographic of the Bush campaign. I suspect there are a few Queen fans that did, but after coming on QZ and reading posts like Danny's, they probably don't want to bring it up. |

I voted for Bush. I will vote for him again. I am not in agreement with him on a number of issues (like capital punishment), but I think he is the best choice out of anyone who actually has a chance of getting elected. I support making an official legal definition of marriage as existing only between one man and one woman. |
geeksandgeeks 27.02.2004 16:18 |
*heads alligators on to Washington* *strokes back of favorite alligator* You cute little killer, you... |
Saint Jiub 27.02.2004 22:01 |
I voted for Bush. I might vote for him again. I might vote for the special interest champion otherwise know as Sen Kerry. I might vote for Nader as a protest vote as neither major candidate is worthwhile. Is anyone really worried about an ill-conceived constitutional amendment being passed by 3/4 of states? The economy is improving. Why replace Bush when there is no decent replacement? Why jeopardize the recovery? |
deleted user 28.02.2004 10:07 |
'The economy is improving.' No it's not. The state where I live has a 7.5% unemployment rate as does Alaska. And growing. What is good about the economy? That Bush is allowing the companies to send factory after factory overseas or Mexico? Allowing 8 million illegals to work here under the guise of 'American workers won't take those jobs'. Bull. 'Why replace Bush when there is no decent replacement? Why jeopardize the recovery?' No decent replacement? What have you been watching/reading? I love being manipulated and lied to about a reason to go to war, about the hunt for Osama, about health care and taxes. He is a liar and a thief and I can't wait to see him fall in November. And for those of you thinking of voting for Nader, please think of this. Every vote he gets, is a vote for Bush. So please think twice. |
Mr.Jingles 28.02.2004 10:24 |
Whoever thinks of voting for Bush in Novemeber must have been watching FOX News way too much. |
iGSM 28.02.2004 11:15 |
I've nothing against homosexuals but I don't think they should begin to wed. Maybe some sort of crocodile wrestling would do. |
Erin 28.02.2004 12:02 |
It would be a dangerous move for any politician to come out and say they supported gay marriages. Even the democrats wouldn't go there, especially in an election year. I personally think it is ridiculous to deny gay people the right to marry. If anything, I would think gay people who want to marry are probably far more committed to it than most straight people...just think of the prejudices they have to deal with on a REGULAR basis. Marriage on the whole is becoming a joke anyway..especially with weekend weddings like Britney Spears' in the news. |

link Last quarter of last year had 4 % annual growth, and this quarter so far also has had 4 % annual growth. Unfortunately, job growth has not kept pace ... Where I work, sales have more than doubled (October and later) and shows no sign of abating. Merit raises will likely be reinstated, and bonuses will probably be likely in the summer. Most suppliers for our company are domestic for several reasons (better lead times, economically competitive, more technologically advanced, and work smarter - not harder). |
