Well, yeah. He was gay. I think he said 'I'm as gay as a daffodil'. (I don't know exactly how gay a daffodil is) Yes, AIDS is transferred in the bodies liquids and sperm happens to be one of those liquids, so unless Freddie got a really bad blood nose and had to get a blood transfusion then it's a good guess that he got it in his gay ways. |

Hi Nazila I know you might have a hard time expressing your opinions, but as you are from Iran I can understand that it must be a little hard for you sometimes to speak English. Also I'm guessing that in Iran they don't talk about issues like homosexuality and AIDS as open as they do here. Out of curiosity, and don't feel offended... It seems to me like people in Iran and other middle eastern countries find homosexuality totally unacceptable, do you feel the same way? Here in the western side of the world, homosexuality is more acceptable, although there's still a lot of people who hate homosexuals just for who they are. Freddie was a homosexual (though some claim he was actually bisexual) but anyways he did have sex with men quite a lot. 2. AIDS is an uncurable disease discovered in the early 80s and started spreading largely among homosexuals on cities like New York and San Francisco. 3. Perhaps Freddie's only mistake was being promiscuous, and not having a steady sexual partner. In case you don't know what a promiscuous person is, it's someone who constantly has sex with a lot of people 4. Whoever infected Freddie with AIDS probably didn't know at then that he was carrying the AIDS virus in his body, and probably didn't infect Freddie with the AIDS virus on purpose. I believe part of the magic of Freddie was that he was, in fact, gay. He was different, did his own thing, and wasn't afraid of life. Although he hid his personal life to some extent, he lived his life to the fullest while he was here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay. Getting AIDS from unprotected sex is the most common way of getting this disease... whether you are gay, straight, or bi... you can get AIDS. I'm trying to ask a question about a real issue (or at least how here in the western world we see how things are in the middle east). All you have to say is... "yes it's true", or "no things are not like that in here". And about Iran being a poor third world country, let me remind you that I come from a country where there's a lot of poverty as well. If you watch the Freddie and Kenny Everett documentary on Rien's site link in the downloads/videos section (on Windows Media Video format), you'll get a concrete idea as to how Freddie got HIV (which later developed into AIDS) and who POSSIBLY may have given it to him (we still don't know, for the record, who really gave it to him - but there is no doubt the person is dead). So because that person that gave Freddie AIDS is dead, he got what they deserved for giving Freddie HIV/AIDS and so therefore there is no need to go out and kill him, and I apologize to everyone if what I said, about the person givnig Freddie AIDS, is offensive, but that is what I feel and that is my opinion. (But then again, of course, I'm (in)famous for my offensive posts, aren't I?) Someone can carry HIV for many years without any symptoms arising.
