Well, looking back at 2003...I've come to decide that my top 5 Albums of the year were:
1. Sam Roberts - We Were Born In A Flame
2. Barenaked Ladies - Everything To Everyone
3. Blur - Think Tank
4. Robbie Williams - Escapology
5. Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head
I was a little disappointed with Radiohead's "Hail To The Thief" and Travis' "12 Memories"..though they are both still 2 good records. Also did'nt really like "We Will Rock You" cast album either....
..and your favs?
Coldplay ~ A Rush Of Blood To The Head
Blue October ~ History For Sale
Dashboard Confessional ~ A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar
Brand New ~ Deja Entendu
The Jayhawks - Rainy Day Music
Kings of Leon - Youth & Young Manhood
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves
The Thorns - The Thorns
Bowie - Reality
all top drawer stuff. :-)
Well, my favorites of last year:
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits
The White Stripes - Elephant
The Rasmus - Dead Letters
But the best of 'em all:
Metallica - St. Anger
First I didn't like that one at all, but after listening to it for a while I came to the conclusion that last year no better album has been released than that one.
TRAIN OF THOUGHT - Dream Theater
ST. ANGER- Metallica
Not only best albums of 2003, but in last few years IMHO....
And to anryone who is saying that Metallica was so good on the begining and they're finished now and the last album is crap- c'mon- this album has got more to "Kill'em All" than anything since "....And Justice..."...
The production...? Well- I love it- suits the lyrics, makes the specific atmosphere....
Definitely Beatles-Let It Be
Robbie-Escapology (maybe)
Justin-Justified
The Darkness-Permission To Land
and Stripped by Christina Aguilera's certainly grown on me these last couple of weeks, so I'll shove that one on as well.
Evanescence - Fallen
Simply Red - Home
Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
Josh Groban - Closer
Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
MUST GET COMPILATIONS...
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits
No Doubt - The Singles 1992-2003
REM - The Best 1988-2003
Actually, I do think that best of albums should not be considered 2003. Most, if not all, songs are older.
By the way, I love Boom Box by No Doubt, because of the b-side thing. Allthough remixes suck
Fefe Dobson
Barenaked Ladies - Everything To Everyone
John Deacon - The Man In The Shadows (re-issue)
And also best speech of the year: Freddie's Rivers Of Blood speech (Wembley DVD)
