Not really a nickname but I love when that guy refers to him as "The ugly one, what's his name? The one who sings" in the documentaries. I apologize for not remembering who it was that said this.

Rick Parfitt is the name of the guy in Status Quo who refers to Fred as "the ugly one".
Personally, if someone's name is more than one syllable long, I shorten it, and if it's only a syllable in length I lengthen it, so for me Freddie is Fred.
since all the people at my school have no clue who freddie is, i point him out and say "Freddie, the one with the buckteeth, short hair and the pretty eyes" lol... hehe :P god ppl in my school have terrible taste in music...
