Saw this topic on the Led Zeppelin's Electric Magic Message board and thought I'd post it over here. What is everyone's favorite Bootleg audience chatter? |
Maz 14.02.2004 01:32 |
Well, the horrible chatter during Freddie's last performance of In My Defence makes me laugh. Not quite what you're looking for, but the best I could come up with. I never could figure out what those guys are saying during the Rivers of Blood speech during Wembley, but it sounds funny. |
Saint Jiub 14.02.2004 01:50 |
Paraphrased: "Yeah man, I told you they would play that song" one freak to another at Philly 1977 show at beginning of Melancholy Blues. |
Pim Derks 14.02.2004 02:14 |
"Hij wordt oud!" (he's getting old) during Headlong (I think) in Utrecht 1998 (BM) |
goinback 14.02.2004 05:35 |
Then there's "Get it a lot louder!" (as it sounds to me) at the beginning of "Love Of My Life" on Live Killers. |
AC 14.02.2004 07:32 |
"Where's David Bowie?" said by an Italian girl at the beginning of Under Pressure (Milano '84). |
Whatinthewhatthe? 14.02.2004 07:39 |
The Mannheim '86 chatter is very amusing, mostly in German and a lot of drunken Germans singing offkey in the audience (near the mixing board perhaps?) -- I would have liked to have been at that concert, sounded like it was a big party! |
Wayne Gretzky 14.02.2004 10:36 |
"It's Queen isn't it?" (Gothenburg '77) |
Liquid Scream 14.02.2004 11:30 |
I believe the exact words are "He's better than f#@%ing Page!" from Philly 11/23/77. During Love of My Life from one of the 1980 Wembley Arena shows, 12/8/80 I think? There is somebody loudly blowing there nose. |
Penetration_Guru 16.02.2004 06:05 |
Forgive me if my memory is incorrect, but isn't there an argument in the acoustic bit (poss LOML) at Paris 86? |
goinback 16.02.2004 06:37 |
Lisa which Mannheim show is that? I see more than one from '86 on the hub. |
deleted user 16.02.2004 10:18 |
nice topic! there are a lot of chatters who made me laugh, during the years... I can remember a crazy man shouting "LIAAAAAARRRR!!!" the whole concert Queen held in Cologne in 1974... he really drove me mad!! And then I remember about a chat between some italian fans who attended the concert in Lyon 82; they were talking about which train did they take, what time did they get to the concert place and so on, just while the best live band in the world was rocking the crowd. Oh well.. cheers! |
Queenland 16.02.2004 12:56 |
Morumbi Stadium, São Paulo, 20/03/1981: Brian May (before Love of My Life): "Esta canção..." ("This song...") One girl in the audience (LOUD!): "É PRA MIM!!!!" ("IS FOR ME!!!!") |
Mr. Scully 17.02.2004 02:20 |
By far the best chatter was in Waterbury 1974. Some guy was shouting "sit down!" the whole concert, obviously somebody tall was standing in front of him. |
Queenland 17.02.2004 06:54 |
I called my CDR of that concert "Sit Down!" because of him :-D |
iGSM 17.02.2004 08:24 |
heh, I'll have to get access to those concerts someday..perhaps B&E? |
MercuryArts 17.02.2004 09:42 |
In the opening seconds of the tape at the Stadium in Chicago, Sept. 19, 1980 you hear all the whistles & cheers all around and some guy sums it all up in one word: Madness! |
goinback 17.02.2004 20:58 |
That's what it was like seeing them during their US peak those few weeks in 1980...crazy! They should have actually been booked in bigger venues...I don't the tour people were ready for the response to the latest album. Most people seemed to know they were seeing rock history. |
Megamike The GREAT 17.02.2004 22:06 |
I have to agree, They really blew me away.. I lost my voice that night I saw them and I didn't know hardly any of their stuff at that time... Freddie RULED.. I really think they should put out a live Vid of the Game Tour... |
Mr. Scully 18.02.2004 02:50 |
"They should have actually been booked in bigger venues..." I don't know... I have photos from Dallas 1980 and half of the seats seem to be empty... |
goinback 18.02.2004 03:15 |
Seriously??? Are those on your site somewhere? It was general admission at ours, so I wonder if maybe too many people were on the main floor instead of in the seats (I'm surprised people weren't smashed and killed actually). Or maybe something went wrong with the Dallas promotion/tickets.... |
Mr. Scully 18.02.2004 04:27 |
If I don't forget, I will later post some photos. |
Smitty 05.11.2005 11:29 |
milwaukee 1975. Before Big Spender a guy near the microphone says "Awww, Stripper!" Same concert, freddie introduces Son & Daughter and the SAME guy goes "oh...no" |

Penetration_Guru wrote: Forgive me if my memory is incorrect, but isn't there an argument in the acoustic bit (poss LOML) at Paris 86?Yeah that's right: Brian: "I know some of you have been coming from far away, we appreciate it!" Somebody in the audience: "Fucking right there! Play '39 or I'll kill ya!" No that's no joke! :-) |
Jjeroen 06.11.2005 06:06 |
ROGER AAAAAHHHH!!! ...on numerous bootlegs... :-P |
icmrocha (The Man From Planet Marzipan) 06.11.2005 21:16 |
the best one.. from Chicago '78 right at the beggining of Freddie speech after "somebody to love".. the guy says: "Alright motherf**ker!!!" And then through the whole concert u can hear him saying "this is great" several times.. |
luthorn 06.11.2005 22:11 |
"Fred why did you cut your hair off", or something like that, from Live at Wembley 86 |
Fenderek 07.11.2005 07:31 |
I love Waterbury's guy shouting "sit down". Actually- later on few others join him :) |
Wilki Amieva 07.11.2005 09:04 |
I do not remember the exact words, but I do remember a crazy man shouting his life out during Brian's performance of Love Of My Life at the Imperator Club, 1992. |
Lisser 07.11.2005 10:53 |
Actually, I like the Brixton 2005 guy that says during the Eminem intro, "Get on with it!" The way he says it is hilarious. You also have to understand that Americans love to laugh at the British accent. Not that we are "making fun" of it. We just love the way it sounds, it's very comical to us, well to me at least. |

I have this one bootleg from 73/74/75 cant remember which one, and right after the pause in now im here (down in the jungle/city just hoople and me) one of the audience members says the lyrics, but he says it wrong, so freddie hears him and goes "noooo, down in the city with hoople and me). |

"yeah, play that guitar" during Chicago 1980 (Love Of My Life) |
Ayreon 10.11.2005 10:20 |
Roger AAAAHHH! is a classic...can be heard on noumerous Roger solo - Brian solo - Queen + PR bootlegs. My most annoying one is a certain person shouting 'You're standing on my bag' all the time in Cologne at the Roger concert in '94... |
Ayreon 10.11.2005 10:21 |

"Hou je bek, Marion" (free translation: "You're standing on Sil's bag" "Wha?" "YOU'RE STANDING ON SIL'S BAG!" "Shut the fuck up, Marion, I'm trying to record this shit!" ;-))) And since we're talking RT in Cologne: the 'en nou die handjes de lucht in en kek me lachend oan' during the fade-in is pretty memorable too! ;-))) |
Jjeroen 10.11.2005 11:03 |

One from the latest tour. In Milano, there's this guy cheering "Freddie!, Freddie!" several times. Then this other guy screams "Paul!" and a third one starts cheering "Pasquale! Pasquale!" and then laughs. That has to be one of the funniest of them all, hehe :) JCW |
YourValentine 10.11.2005 17:35 |
Very cool topic. In Cologne 2005 Paul Rodgers greets the audience and shouts "Hey , you are looking good" A taper answers: "Thanks, you are looking good, too" :) |
Erin 10.11.2005 17:57 |
On one of the AW tour bootlegs I can be heard yelling "WOOOOOOOOO!!!", and Brian says..."Wanna get up here and do that?" *blush* |

> In Cologne 2005 Paul Rodgers greets the > audience and shouts "Hey , you are looking > good" A taper answers: "Thanks, you are > looking good, too" :) I remember that guy! :-) He is the one that in all the italian shows (and in the Cologne one, too) shouts: "fuck off the press Brian, you're great!" :-) He is a son of my mather and my father... and he's not my sister! :-P By the way, I remember in the Winterhur soundcheck (Brian, 1993) there was an italian guy (or a Swiss guy that speak italian) saying "bella figa vieni qua!!!" that means "ehi sexy girl (in fact more vulgar than just "sexy") come here!" And in Chicago 1980 there is one guy when Freddie says "you don't like my mustache? Fuck off" or something like this there is one guy saying "fuck off mustache!" and in the same concert there is one guy saying (during the pathetic part by Brian annoyed by the scructure of the forum, when he says "ok, better stop to talk") "yeah, play that guitar!" But there will be hundreds of funny things like this! :-) Leo'82 B.R. |

> That's not pathetic! Nothing's worse than > playing in a venue with a lot of echo. yes, you're right! :-) Pathetic is not the right word... :-/ Btw, I was so disappointed when I get the Queen live updated book. The first thing that I did was reading the Live Killers part, thinking "ok, let's see if the beautiful Bob's Live Killers analysis is used" and... NOTHING! Ok, the version is updated but it's not that better... expecially in the Live Killers part... :-/ Leo'82 B.R. |

Cologne '79: some girl obviously chewing a gum and sounding pretty silly shouts: Ey... is was ??? (something like: hey... what's wrong with you ?) Sounds as if someone got a bit too close... ;-) |
Brianmay1975 24.11.2005 17:49 |
During the Brixton 2005 show, after playing the acosutic bit (39/LOML), Brian wants to get his Red Special back. He says: " I seem to be missing something...". And some guy from the audience shouts: "Roger!". Then Brian laughs and says: "Roger? Yeah, him too." :) |

Q+PR, Frankfurt 2005: RT: "remember - very important at all times: wear a condom. i'm wearing one right now, i hope you are..." Guy 1: "Der braucht das doch gar nicht mehr!" ("He doesn't need that anymore!") Guy 2: "Was dann?!" ("What?!") Guy 1: "Ich sach der braucht das doch gar nicht mehr! Hörst wieder net zu?" ("I said he doesn't need that anymore! Aren't you listening?" Guy 2 is then answering something, that even I can't understand. Sounds like "Die spiele da!" ("They're playing there!")... These guys are talking very heavy "frankfurtian" dialect - hilarious!!! |
Fenderek 31.01.2006 10:27 |
I think it's Seattle 1977- the guys near the taper are really excited about the heavier songs in the set- and heavy set that was!!! |

As every song in the medley starts, the guy shouts "shit!!" Paris 3-1-79... at the beginning of Fat Bottomed Girls, after "are you gonna take me home tonight", someone in the audience shouts "tomorrow!", and again after the next two lines as well. Hilarious. |

@Lisser: 124(P1 - Reserved) row 3 - seat 9 Right next to the stage left. From Brøndby Hallen in Denmark, 78 Freddie "Here's a song from our latest album A day at the races, it's called somebody to..." A guy at this point in a very girly voice right next to the recording device screams "yuhuuu!" :-D Same concert, maybe only funny if you speak danish 3 people are discussing what the next song will be in a VERY thick Copenhagen accent (I find it funny :-) ) |
