Hi,i think that there should be a Freddie Mercury Day which would be held on the 5th of September of every year. It would be an international holiday and everyday throughout the world wouldn't go to work or school for the day. On radio stations they would play most if not all of Queen's singles and in cinemas they would play Flash Gordon and Highlander twice. On TV they would show all of Queen's videos, documentarys, concerts etc.
In music shops they would sell only Queen albums absolutely free. And in Zanzibar,Kensington,Montreux and Munich they would stage a huge carnival with rides and attractions. And Queen tribute bands throughout the world would stage a concert in their hometown. And there would be a special edition of Top Of The Pops where current artists would sing Queen singles. I think that's it. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!
Sounds great, but with only one exception:)) I don't think other musicians shlould sing queen songs, because anyway they can't do it right:)) Noone can come even close to Freddie's vocals, as we saw on Tribute concert:)) But generally the idea is great:)
I was going to say that Lisa lol
Well you can get some local Queen fans, and just round them up in your house or where ever and celebrate.
Or pull a meet up in Montreux or London.
thats a stupid idea
we want a Freddie day, elvis fans want an Elvis day, beatles fans want a Lennon day, u2 fans a Bono day, and so on.
Maybe if we have enough holidays like this we don't have to go to work/school at all!
Well the Swiss Queen Fan Club is planning a second Freddie Mercury Memorial Day on September 5th. That's on a Saturday so "everyone" (...) will have the day off! Just fly in to Montreux and party!
