True Story... Doh...
Our local (Inverness) ILR radio station "Moray Firth Radio" has been
slapped on the wrist by the IBA for allowing the news to catch up with its
"3-in-a-row" quiz.
The quiz simply plays three records back to back - and the first caller to
reply with the correct connection wins (usually) a crappy prize. For
example, what do the tracks "Oh Yeah", "Get The Party Started" and "One
Love" have in common. (The correct answer is that they are all sung by
colours - Yello, Pink and Blue respectively).
On Tuesday (honestly) they played the tracks "Pulling Muscles From A Shell"
by Squeeze, "The Tide Is High" by Blondie, and (I Like To Be Under The Sea)
"Octopus' Garden" by the Beatles. (Ofcourse the correct answer is that they
have all been covered and re-released by individual "Pop Idol" stars) but
the common answer from callers was a reference to the recent Morcombe Bay
tragedy.
The radio station has appologised by saying that the quiz is "prepared in
advance" and that no connection or offence was intended"
