I was watching an hour ago the 1995 airing of Live Aid concert that I taped from VH1.
I was watching the introduction to the Queen set by the British comedians Griff Jones and Mel Smith. Did Queen ask them to do the introduction? Just curious.
Also, is there any other comedians that are linked to Queen or perhaps fan of Queen? Or Queen's favourite comedians?
Just curious :P
Yesterday Jack Black (from "School of rock") was interviewed on Dutch radio and when he was asked which song he wanted to be played on the radio, he asked for It's late. And so they did. That was cool.
Mel Smith was also interviewed in UK's Channel 4 documentary 'Killer Queen' he was/is a friend of Roger. In the introduction he says 'Did Queen invent Thrash?, Heavy Metal..... etc - I tell what Queen DID invent 'Have a fucking good time!'
Harry Hill here in the UK is a huge fan.
So is George Dawes from Shooting Stars.
Then of course there is the infamous Bohemian Rhapsody performance by Lee Evans.Loads od comedians im sure love Queen.
Mind you, I tough Queen where comedians when they released 'Hot Space'
"Harry Hill here in the UK is a huge fan."
The poster said 'comedians' ;)
"So is George Dawes from Shooting Stars."
Yep, aka Matt Lucas from the hilarious Little Britain series is a HUGE Queen fan.
Does he go to any of the UK conventions?

Cool! I knew that there must've been some comedic link between Queen and comedians.
I know that Mel Smith said once that most rock stars would like to be comedians, and most comedians would like to be rock stars which is kind of true.
Carrot Top likes Queen?! :))
Rhys Thomas - comic actor, "The Fast Show", producer, "Queen Greatest Video Hits"
I don't recall seeing Mr Lucas at a convention - although having seen Little Britain I couldn't swear to it - he's got those characters from somewhere...
