First of all, Savannah, how did your team do this year? Might we see each other at state this year? :D
My team - my new team, as I was dragged to Hicksville and forced to leave my old one - did extremely well. We actually had to play the tougher teams in the district - and we swept. (For those who don't know what I'm talking about, this is a competition for nerds.)
So my team got first in the quick recall section, and I got first in two written tests - language arts and arts/humanities - which is better than I've ever done.
Very happy about that. I had a lot of things working for me. Next step, regionals!

*dances* (poorly if i may add)
go mandy! go mandy! :-P
i think language arts and arts and humanities are the 2 best tests of them all. :-D (even though i haven't taken the middle school's tests, obviously)
wow, first of all, big congrats to you Mandy! :) Best of luck in regionals.
Our district tournament is on Valentine's Day (how ironic I have to study Romantic poets for my language arts test as well :S lol).
We've been doing quite well, we're in 2nd place overall, have 4 people placing in points (one is me in arts and humanities :O lol) and our coach really feels we have a chance to get to regionals. :)) If by some chance we get anybody to state and he comes with us, mandy be on the look out for a talk gray haired guy that we call King Patton lol.
You know- I had to study the romantic poets too. And hated doing so. What a coincidence.... (ok fine- we're both in the same compitition. stop looking at me like I'm stupid). Im not going to state this year as I am only JV and therefore too stupid to even try out for the varsity written assessment... *grumbles* oh well, good luck all.
Then help me out and teach me about Wordsworth, Shelley and Keats's work! :P lol
and yeah, lucky you all with your O. Henry, I like his stories and the elem. grades are extra lucky cause the book they have to know is one of my faves. :S gosh! lol
Congrats Mandy! You kick arse!
Shelley, oh Percy Bysshe Shelley. Read the poems: To a Skylark, and Ode to the West Wind, one of his best works.
Wordsworth was one of the pioneers of the English Romantic movement with his book Lyrical Ballads. One of his famous poems is "I Wondered as a Cloud".
Keats. Wow, he one of my faves from the Romantic era. Esp. with the poems: La Belle Sans Merci, and To Sleep.
Honestly I'm more into the novel of the Romantic era than the poems. Like Pride and Prejudice for example.
I like Romanticism, but my favorite is Victorian. I'm currently getting into Edwardian like the novel Maurice by EM Forster.
