On Amazon.uk.co it's listed the release date as of April 5th. Will the DVD and CD be released worldwide on that date, or is it just for the UK? |
Kickforce 30.01.2004 12:05 |
I'll buy it anyway |
sully5059 30.01.2004 12:06 |
I wonder when they're going to release the studio album. |
Maz 30.01.2004 12:20 |
I wonder if there are any overdubs or edits, or if we will still be subjected to the original version of IWTBF? |
Adam Baboolal 30.01.2004 12:29 |
Damn. I really wanted that Zucherro track. I love Brian's guitar on that. Nice laid back song too. Adam. |
Adam Baboolal 30.01.2004 12:30 |
Woops! It is on the dvd after-all. Thank goodness. |
Daz85 30.01.2004 13:13 |
3 CDs!!!! Blood and sand!!! I better start saving :-P But what about the studio album??? I thought that was for February? |
Maz 30.01.2004 15:47 |
The studio album(s) were not due out until the summer (June, I think), at least according to the news article released at the end of November. I had a link, but it's out-dated now and won't work. |
Pim Derks 30.01.2004 16:01 |
So... FOUR cd-albums @ probably 18/20 euros ONE DVD @ probably around 25/30 euros 4 x 20 = 80 + 30 = 110... I doubt a lot of people will buy it.... If they had a cheap 3 cd-set it might have been a success, but I doubt three seperate volumes will attract to the masses.... They should've released a 3-cd set (and a single cd with highlights for the masses maybe) IMO. |
Daz85 31.01.2004 05:11 |
Yeah, the general public won't buy everything. At most the DVD and the 3rd CD, well, in this country anyway. |
Brian_Mays_Wig 31.01.2004 05:44 |
Yep, I totally agree with Pim. This is a scam. Ive got nothing bad to say about raising money for AIDS, as soon as a cure is found, the better, but 3 CDS???? Half of what I saw was utter shit. Surely it could be edited! Another scam im afraid. |
Maz 31.01.2004 12:21 |
How in the world is this a scam? A bit of an overreaction, I'd say. It's 3 CDs of the entire concert, if they only released parts, someone would have bitched about it (keep in mind that this concert does appeal to non-Queen fans as well). This is an international release, so what you consider "utter shit," someone else might like. Besides, at no point are you forced to buy them. I'll buy the CDs, but then, I liked most of the concert. |
Pim Derks 31.01.2004 16:53 |
I'm not saying that they should've edited the concert - I just think it's very strange to release a concert divided in three pieces. |
Adam Baboolal 31.01.2004 18:20 |
Of course if this was the entire FM tribute concert, people would feel exactly the same, wouldn't they? Wouldn't they? But it's nothing special, just a charity gig. Who cares, right? Oh, wait a minute..! Peace, Adam. |
sully5059 31.01.2004 18:51 |
Think of all the complaints there were when MTV showed a heavily edited version of the concert... They couldn't cut stuff out of the release and avoid annoying people at the same time. For example, including the Queen medley at the end would please us but would be at the expense of songs that others would want released. The Party At The Palace concert was edited to fit onto 1 CD and Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't included, but I thought it was better than the other Queen songs that were included. Releasing it in 3 separate sections does seem a bit odd but I guess it's to appeal to people who wouldn't want to pay for the whole concert when all they want is what can be found on one of the CDs. Shame that the Queen stuff is spread out over the 3 CDs though :) It would be good if there's a discount if you buy all 3 as a set. We'll just have to wait and see. |
[StArMaN] 31.01.2004 19:41 |
"Shame that the Queen stuff is spread out over the 3 CDs though" QueenProd Knows that Queen fans will buy the 3 cd's ;) |
Penetration_Guru 01.02.2004 20:46 |
We're getting into dangerous territory here, folks... 1. There's no proof it ISN'T a 3 CD set. 2. We'd bitch like hell if it was heavily edited 3. We'd bitch even more if any Queen stuff got cut out. 4. If it's played in order, the Queen material automatically falls onto 3 CDs 5. I don't think Queen Prod can be blamed for this one. |
sully5059 01.03.2004 20:34 |
Amazon is now taking pre-orders for the CDs. They're £11.99 each. I think I'll just get the DVD. Edit: The DVD is listed on play.com now. |
David Jones 02.03.2004 14:38 |
I still haven't heard absolutly anything from this gig yet! I'm not sure whether I'm keen on all these guest appearances with various artists. PATP was pretty good, but I tink they might be pushing it now. Anywho, being a casual customer to this release, I would not buy all three CDs, infact, I'd buy none and I'd plug for the DVD instead. If a best of of the concert was released on one or maybe a double CD, I would consider that (and if that was any good, get the DVD too). Definately selling out, only with a good course involved... |
sully5059 19.03.2004 15:29 |
Amazon have now reduced the CD prices to £9.99 each, but CD-Wow are selling them for £8.99 each. There's also a 3 CD-R promo available at link but it's £50! (Edit: Just found out someone bought it because it's not in stock now) And for the DVD... link - £17.99 link - £17.99 link - £18.74 |
Michael Allred 25.03.2004 22:59 |
A friend of mine told me today that the CDs *will* be released in the US afterall on April 13 by Rhino Records. I haven't checked myself but the Rhino site apparently is listing them. |
The Mir@cle 26.03.2004 06:01 |
I think the CD's/DVD will generally be released at 5 April. Does anyone have a idea when the Live Aid DVD will be released?? |
Michael Allred 26.03.2004 17:19 |
That April 5th date is for the rest of the world I think, the 13th is for America. As for Live Aid...it might be a while. They haven't even auctioned the rights off yet. |
