i will always remember the Capt...may you RIP...remebers watching it on the local CBS station in dallas when i was little before goin to school...sighs
He was a BIG part of my childhood (maybe that's why I'm so screwed up in the head...LOL!), It's a shame they don't play him for the kids of this generation to see.
I watched his show every morning too. Mr. Green Jeans was awesome. I think the Cap'n is where the U.S. got their taste of the wonderful Simon cartoon drawing segments too. I loved those!
"Oh you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true. Oh my pictures take me, take me, something, something, yadda yadda, blah."

OMG Deacon Fan, that was the Ist thing to come to mind is that song.
I also grew up watching Captain Kangaroo remember the Dancing Bear? And the grandfather clock that was always napping? And the annimated cartoon called Crystal? One of my older brothers used to call me Crystal b/c my hair is thick and curly and those days quite frizzy b/c it was before leavein conditioner.
I always thought he was the sweetest man.
rip my dear childhood friendly mentor
