Hi, Has anyone ever dressed up as Freddie Mercury? I have a few times like. My favourite is to do it on a friday night at home, I dress like him in the "I want to break free" video with a tight little black pvc skirt and black stockings. I prance around the house listening to Queen with a feather duster in my hand. Sometimes I shout "Eeeeeee ooooo" down the street, like Freddie did at live aid. The police were called once though. Sometimes I get real horny when I see myself in the mirror and I must admit that I have cracked one off on several occasions.
One time I wore tight leather trousers and jacket along with a leather hat like he wears in "Dont stop me now". I stuffed a banana down the trousers and wore the outfit to work. They were all calling me "gayo" and saying such things as "ooo get her" "go and bum Freddie you gay twat" "look at the size of his dick". Again, I'm not ashamed to add that I got rather turned on by this and visited the toilets where I cracked one off.
Anyone else done this?
2 years ago i won a playback show with imitating Freddie, Really cool :)
My clothing was: a sort of leotard and a Black 'magic tour' jacket, just the same clothes as i wear at home.
Do convention costume parades count? :-)
At the 2002 US convention, I was The Mediterranean Prawn (wig, feathers, et al) and at the 2003 US convention, I was Great Pretender Freddie in the red wig and dress (click on the My Profile button to see it on the runway!). I won second place for my efforts -- dress as a slut and you win every time! *snicker*
I think that people who dress up like others, even though they are fans of that person, are insane, or at least have some sort of brain damage. ok, I can understand people who act like somebody sometimes, but totally copying him / her by dressing up...?

Hey, if it wins someone a signed certificate from Brian and Roger, I'd do it every day!! Mine is framed and hanging alongside all of my Queen stuff and I am VERY proud of it!!

I seem to have a problem viewing your profile pic, what form is it saved in?
Click on the little picture icon that's featured on each thread/response with my name on it (the first icon) and my profile is there along with the pic on the bottom of the page. The pic's in .jpeg format also!
I don't see anything offencive about Dudley's question. A lot of us have dressed like Freddie and are proud to say so. Freddie was a pioneer in fashion. His glam look was unique and much-copied by later artists. The 80s look was also his and his alone. (I especially loved the white jeans and tank top look that showed off that fab physique!)
Think of Freddie's humble beginnings and what superhuman effort he undertook to become the legend he is!
I didn't dress as Freddie though, but I took some influences for my outfit (see profile pic) from the Radio GaGa vid when we were performing with our dance class on the same stage that Queen played in Helsinki in 1974.. and I do like to wear a white vest top, light blue jeans and adidas boxing shoes quite regularly ;)
