Has anyone heard about this show that will be airing in a few weeks on VH1 where they ambush members of groups that have broken up in the past few decades to try and convince them to reunite?
I was so excited when I heard that one of the episodes is dedicated to my favorite band of my teen years, Extreme. I'd be amazed if they can convince them to reunite- its thanks to them I became a Queen fan in the first place!
Now if they could only convince John Deacon to come out of the woodwork, all will be right with the world.
Haven't heard about it, but I'd sure like to see an on-air confrontation between Tommy Shaw, James Young and Dennis DeYoung about the STYX situation.
Tommy & James are masquerading as 'STYX' after what I understand as an unwillingness to wait for Dennis to recover from an illness a few years back.. they just went on without him.. the man who gave them success in the first place and wrote & sang their biggest hits. It's very sad really.
I recently watched Dennis DeYoung for over 3 hours on a PBS pledge drive. He seems like the nicest guy.. and quite funny too. Not to mention his voice being better than ever. He's done a fantastic symphonic STYX material/solo concert which they were showing.
"Now if they could only convince John Deacon to come out of the woodwork, all will be right with the world."
Getting John back would be nice but the fact is that they would have to perform an operation of Frankenstein proportions to get Freddie back to truly re-unite Queen
I know, I was just kidding about the John thing.
The whole point of this show is that they are trying to convince members of these bands to get back together who have been rather unwilling in the past. From the show's description it seems to have brought up a lot of bitterness and anger from some of the ambushed band members. Interesting concept.
The ones who agree to do it will have the opportunity to put on a concert for their fans organized by VH1.
that whole situation was addressed already--think was a BTM show--
Dennis aired his side-- James and Tommy addressed theirs and why they continued on--- then ended with the wife giving her two cents about it also....
