Hey, now that the board's working again I wanna tell you a bit about my London trip. (I had tried before but the board was down)
Well, we had an awesome time in London! 3 days and a half isn't that much so it was really tiring and stressing but we saw everything in just 2 days!
Did a bit of sightseeing (mainly because it was my friend's first time in London, I had already seen the sights at least 3 times before). Did a bit of Oxford Street shopping, A LOT of Camden Town shopping (my favourite part of London), bit of "pubbing" in SoHo, Leicester Square and Covent Garden, bit of walking around Picadilly Circus and Notting Hill and even Brixton (the "Bronx" of London - I had to see it because The Clash came from there).
And we saw We Will Rock You. It was my 3rd time, first time without Tony though but I must say: I was stunned - again! I don't know why some people don't like the musical, I can't see a bad thing about it. The new Galileo is at least as good as Tony, their voices are very similar, Jenna was on as Scaramouche and she rocked, too! Although I prefer Hannah Jane Fox. But Jenna was brilliant! Unfortunately Kerry Ellis had the night off and Gemma McLean (I think that's her name) was on as Meat. I don't think she's bad but Kerry is so much better! She just brings tears in your eyes when she sings No One But You. I missed that with Gemma.
Thank God, Sharon D. Clarke was on as Killer Queen! I love her voice and her performance! She's just about perfect!
It was a great evening, the show is just massive and brilliant!
We also visited Garden Lodge. I hadn't been there before. I was quite surprised that there are some higher buildings around the house. I mean, there's this huge wall surrounding it but it's really in between a lot of other "normal" houses and hotels.
A neighbour was out on the street when I took a photo. He smiled. I suppose he's used to it....
And there are still writings on the door.
Why do people still do that? I mean, being a fan, it does make you want to write a little tribute but the house belongs to Mary. She lives there with her family. I'd be really annoyed if people kept writing stuff on my door and wall.
I mean, people can leave flowers and letters but why damage the door with writings?
Anyway, all in all we had a great time and I wish I could go back right now! I love London!
Hope everybody's having a good start of 2004.
"I think that was Gemma's first time playing "Meat"."
Yes, according to Brian's soapbox I suppose it was her first time. She wasn't bad but I think Kerry's voice is much better for that song. And Gemma has a strange accent.
"Did you like Brixton? Did you see Brixton Academy?"
No, we didn't spend much time in Brixton. There were real gangs hanging around staring at us. We took the next bus back to the city... lol
Glad you had a great time! I'm really wondering about people still writing on the door at Garden Lodge though. Isn't there a sign posted prohibiting that (now that Mary Austin is the owner)? All Queen fans should respect that and her privacy as well.
Too bad you didn't see any of the cats -- the ones that are still alive, that is!
No, I didn't see a sign anywhere. I agree, they should respect her privacy. I mean to go there, to take photos, etc is ok but they should really stop writing things on that door.
(Speculating) The two youngest would be about 12 or 13 and probably living the high life in Garden Lodge, I'd think. Those cats had it made. Freddie was such a good provider for them and loved them dearly. (My cat is 16 years young and still healthy and happy, and yes quite the contented and spoiled housecat!)
They died when some blokes did some work on the electricity in that area. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think all of them died. God, imagine you had some fish worth a fortune and they would die because of a stupid thing like that!!
"Better yet, any pictures of yourself Sonja? ; )"
Dear Mex, take a look at my profile! JUST for you I ran upstairs, got this photo and scanned it for you immediately.
Although it is a shite picture and I was freezing my ass off that day and I was a bit sick because I still had the flu that's why I look so pale on it.
xxx for you Mex!!!
