Hi, i've found out something peculiar about I Want It All. On the Miracle album it says that all the songs are written by Queen as a group.
On the GVH2 DVD it says that it was written by Brian May. Did anyone realise that? LET ME KNOW
I think Brian wants his credit now. I can imagine this whole scenario when 'The Miracle' album was about to be released:
Brian: "Pretty please, can we credit all of us as writers? I haven't had a top 10 hit since 1981 and you've all been doing great. Hell, even Roger's had a couple of big ones. I need the extra income from a top 10 single! Please?"
The guys: "Okay, I guess we can all spare some royalties for our buddy Brian"
Brian: "Thanks guys!"
Couple months later, Brian's song "I Want It All" hits UK #3 and suddenly Brian feels like a fool. Now he has to share what would have been only his royalties. Poor Bri.
Yeah, I Want it All was written by Brian, Breakthru - Roger, Miracle - Freddie, and I think that I read somewhere that John did My Baby Does Me, but I might be wrong on that one. Happy New Year by the way :D
John and Freddie both did My Baby Does Me, according to an interview with the entire band in 1989,But they didn't know who wrote the bassline. John said Freddie wrote it, and Freddie said John wrote it. As for myself, I think John wrote it.
Thats probably why they decided to share all the credits. Because they all have been working (as a team) on the songs in the studio, And maybe they decided that Brian should get credited for I Want It All on GVH2, because he had the song before they got back to the studios to record The Miracle
