Only thirty thousand people were at the concert in South Africa? I thought some of you were saying there were something like eighty thousand? MTV here in the U.S. says thirty thousand. Sounds like just a small show in some collusem?
Sometimes the people at the actual show are secondary to the event. I think the real intended audience were the thousands, if not millions, who could take in the show via the web or other means. For lack of a better example, at Elvis Presley's "Aloha From Hawaii" concert there were only 5,000 people in the actual arena, but the concert was broadcast via satellite (a big deal at the time) to millions of people in 38 countries.
