I live in Norway and with 56k modem I cannot watch the web broadcast :-( Somebody know what TV Stations that will bradcast it live?? |
Penetration_Guru 29.11.2003 11:49 |
Have you tried Norwegian TV websites? Failing that, try MTV or VH1. Good luck, but not confident anyone's showing it live. |
Kenneth E. Sandvær 29.11.2003 12:02 |
From BrianMay.com: TV COVERAGE: NETHERLANDS, POLAND, NEW ZEALAND NETHERLANDS – covered by MTV Netherlands. POLAND – again covered by MTV Polska NEW ZEALAND – covered by TV3 which is still to be confirmed whether it is live or the edit that they take. Also TV3 in New Zealand shows the Oprah Winfrey show which will be featuring the 46664 campaign as part of their Aids special. I don't think it will be on MTV Nordic or VH1(Viasat) nor any norwegian TV stations :-( Very good, no-one is broadcasting it here :-((( Maybe a little clip in the news, but I guess that "Queen" won't steal the show so they will show some other artist in the clip :-( |
NoOneButYou1975 29.11.2003 12:02 |
Failing that, try MTV or VH1. and MTV2 all on monday Dec 1st |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 12:17 |
I'm watching it right now from the 46664 site, regular streaming, no technical f**k up (yet!) |
L-Jay 29.11.2003 12:19 |
ok, this might be me being dumb, but what time does this start on the internet. it says on the 46664 website 17:00 GMT is this right? |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 12:24 |
it started 20 minutes ago, Beyonce sang 3 tracks, now it's bob Geldof time |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 12:25 |
Still can't watch- I just get a Stream of the 46664 Trailer :-( |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 12:25 |
It's already begun. Byonce has done her set. Bob Geldof is second, and his set is on. Good luck on watching it. wlink works for me. Cheers, Ogre- |
Hank H. 29.11.2003 12:27 |
Wow. Go Roger go. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 12:27 |
Roger is on now ! Listening to the Audio. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 12:28 |
Rog + Brian + Dave Stewart, a new song! nice unplugged, I guess title is "Say it's not true" |
NoOneButYou1975 29.11.2003 12:30 |
everyone must be on the site cause i cant get in |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 12:31 |
Roger's song was great- caught all the audio of it. I assume that it was the 1st song featuring Bri and Rog. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 12:31 |
a rap act is now on |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 12:31 |
the trailer is followed by the webcast. They have just sung "Say it's not true". Lovelly ballad by Roger. Accoustic, with Brian on acoustic guitar, as well as Dave Stewart. |
L-Jay 29.11.2003 12:32 |
I cant get it either vry annoyed |
Mr.Jingles 29.11.2003 12:33 |
Damn, Roger was great on that song!! Just saw it. I missed a bit of it though, but saw most of it. |
Mr. Teatime 29.11.2003 12:33 |
if you go to link they have their own stream linked on that page. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 12:36 |
< Until 17:30 GMT the trailer just played for me then stopped. I had the link open for the Webcast since 1400GMT, so I'm not sure why it didn't work. After clicking on the audio, I caught Roger/Brian/Dave, and now I'm able to watch the webcast- just get this crappy Oakenfold act off now. They are surely preventing people giving money to the charity !!! |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 12:37 |
great intro by Bob Geldof, stating he and Brian. Rog and Dave are true friends, making holidays and piss together :) Also very funny statement about Beyoncè tits |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 12:38 |
Glad it worked for you now! :) you are surelly getting a lot of Queen yet! :) *Excited* |
Mr.Jingles 29.11.2003 12:40 |
LOL, what did they say about Beyonce's nice tities? |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 12:43 |
Bob Geldof said he didn't have her tits or her dancers, songs or anything. The rest I had noticed, but he called my attention to the fact that he has no tits. Must be a scarce from the scene in the film "The Wall", when he shaved this chest. His breast was never the same again. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 12:44 |
an african act is now on. We're waiting for more queen |
L-Jay 29.11.2003 12:46 |

Q-Nick 29.11.2003 12:48 |
I think this African likes Nelson Mandela. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 12:51 |
Looks like more African acts are coming soon. I really cannot wait for Brian and Roger to come back on ! |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 12:53 |
Youssou N'Dour on stage now..I also eagerly wait for Peter Gabriel, beside queen! |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 12:55 |
Say it's not trueeeee... the tune doesn't leave my mind. :) I'm so glad I liked instantly at least one of the new Queen songs. The others were disappointing. Maybe with time. Maybe live. Yeah, LIVE :D |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 13:01 |

Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 13:37 |
The lights went out here because of the thunderstorm! I was lucky enough to see Roger and Brian's interview and their incredible rendition of Say It's not True. Did I miss anything? :/ |
Ian R 29.11.2003 13:37 |
What was Roger pointing at??! |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 13:39 |
Who has been on since Cat Stevens/Peter Gabriel ? |
Ian R 29.11.2003 13:40 |
Brian and Roger (interview). |

The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:12 |
Awesome, now it's the good ol' Queen stuff! |
deleted user 29.11.2003 14:12 |
Who are the singers? I don't recognize them. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:13 |
Noooo dont let Roger sing for the love of GOD! Pah! Cant be arsed to watch the thing anyways. I have work to do. Also that my pc is shitty lol |
Mr. Teatime 29.11.2003 14:14 |
All those people jumping and screming.... it's like wembley 86.... |
Red_Special 29.11.2003 14:15 |
My God that was great! : ))))) |
Mr. Scully 29.11.2003 14:15 |
Chris Thompson sang SMGO, even I could recognize it on this shitty low quality realplayer :) |
deleted user 29.11.2003 14:15 |
That was too short! I want more!! |
Mr. Teatime 29.11.2003 14:16 |
I wanted Invincible Hope to carry on.... sounded great live |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:16 |
fantastic sequence: Invincible hope/The Call/Show must go on more to come! |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 14:16 |
Chris was good, but the females were quite bland. Musically Roger and Brian were fantastic. |
Borhap80 29.11.2003 14:17 |
Chris Thompson, (One of the Fabba girls..), and maybe Treanna Morris I think performed The Show Must Go On... |
Mr.Jingles 29.11.2003 14:17 |
Was that Annie Lennox singing 'The Show Must Go On'? There was another girl along with Chris Thompson, who was that? |
pouria 29.11.2003 14:17 |
oh my god , it was so great to hear and see queen performing live again. "the shoe must go on" was so great the best song that could remind me of Freddie. did you see that , three people were singing different parts of a song that freddie sang himself alone. oh my god, Freddie you are the greatest and the best. we all miss you. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 14:18 |
Wasn't one of the girls Treana Morris? The girl in black? I liked her part. |
Ian R 29.11.2003 14:18 |
Treana Morris was one of them. 'The Call' sounded good - Brian on good form vocally. 'Invincible Hope' - good song, poor rendition. The choir didn't sound very good. They should've double-tracked Treana instead. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:19 |
Yeah, it was Suzzie Webb, from the Fabba girls. Meh, I liked the girls from the BTTL tour better. I liked the new songs. It's the first time I heard them in good quality. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:21 |
T.Morris was fab. The Call live rocked! |
pouria 29.11.2003 14:22 |
guys did you see that? there was another drummer playing alomost all the bits that needed a young man with roger. I 'm afraid to say this but guys; Roger is getting old and he can't handle the Queen songs any more. *right now i'm hiding under my shelter to save my life from roger fans who are ready to cut my head off. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 14:22 |
The new songs were brilliant- highly emotional, politcal, relevant, and also very ROCKING ! |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:23 |
Nah, Roger sounded great on the drums. The quality isn't perfect, but I think he sounded better than at Party At The Palace last year, for sure! He was totally unrehearsed at that show. |
Mr. Scully 29.11.2003 14:24 |
Was that Susie Webb for sure? Susie is pregnant for several months already, she must be in her 7th month at least. Agree with Ian, Invincible Hope is a great track but the choir didn't work. I also prefer SMGO with Roger or Brian on vocals. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:25 |
Or maybe it was Zoe... I always forget which one the blonde is... :P I don't think Brian or Roger could have sang it as well as Chris Thompson, no matter how much we love them. |
Mr. Teatime 29.11.2003 14:25 |
Yeah I noticed the other drummer doing the big drum rolls and stuff too. However I also saw Roger singing whilst playing the drums, so that's a positive sign. It's difficult to tell whether Roger was struggling or would struggle, or not. Every song performed here has more than one percussionist. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:26 |
Cant...resist...saying...that...Brian...Roger...aren't...Queen... Ah! Said it! I feel better now! :D |
pouria 29.11.2003 14:26 |
oh definitely. call was great, for a second the whole stadium was frozen by Brian. I love it, and it's also so beautiful. just imagine if freddie was there and he could rock the stadium with his unique movements and runnings around the stage. It could be another Live Aid. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 14:27 |
I think Roger was good on the Drums- he was handling the songs brilliantly. Was Nico McBrain the other drummer ? |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:29 |
If Freddie hadn't died, I don't think these rock stars would have been as determined to make the difference they are making. On second thought, this concert definitely wouldn't have even happened if Freddie didn't die of AIDS. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 14:29 |
I wish they had a small version of The Call and the whole Invincible Hope. The riff could be explored live. On the whole, The Call was not as bad as it could've been. |
Mr. Scully 29.11.2003 14:30 |
Zoe is blonde with really big tits, Susie has a baby inside. It's easy to recognize them. I'd say it was neither of them but again, I didn't pay attention to the picture much as I have like 1 frame per 5 seconds on this modem connection. |
pouria 29.11.2003 14:30 |
oh my god, the same old Queen or Bri/Rog discussion. come on peopel roger and brian are the fouders of Queen. This is right that Freddie and John are not there any more, but there are many other bands that have lost one of their members but still keep writing songs under the same old name. |
NoViolins 29.11.2003 14:30 |
I hate to sound stupid, but Brian and Roger are performing more songs, right? |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:31 |
Roger looked a bit tired, he it mainly cymbals during the first 2 numbers, but played SMGO all alone. Guys, it's not easy to drum at that age. Brian and Rog are definitely not Queen but they can still rock a stadium live! The start was IMPRESSING! |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:32 |
they are expected to play Radio Gaga, Rock you, Champions, Is this the world, with more guests |
pouria 29.11.2003 14:32 |
i believe they will. I don't think Brin would leave the stage without playing his child( I mean WWRY) and i thing roger wouldn't leave unless he sing radio ga ga. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:32 |
Agreed, Queensite. "Zoe is blonde with really big tits, Susie has a baby inside. It's easy to recognize them." Hehe way to put it bluntly. :) It was definitely Zoe then. Roger said there would be a medley of old hits. Let's see what happens. We always hope for something obscure, and we're getting it... ITTWWC. That's enough for me. The more the better though, of course! |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 14:34 |
< Couldn't agree more. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 14:34 |
Nevermind, Noviolins. Everybody hates to sound stupid! LOL And you don't. :) We're all kind of blind here. I saw Brian rehearsing "Is this the world we created" with the singer of the Corrs today. I guess that will be on. Also, they said they'll perform Amandla with Anastacia. They have also said they'll perform with Zucchero. (blargh) I think I read somewhere that they had rehearsed "I want to break free" with some lady on vocals. Also, I'd LOVE to see them playing Under Pressure either with Treana or Annie Lenox. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:35 |
"I saw Brian rehearsing "Is this the world we created" with the singer of the Corrs today." Where?? |
NoViolins 29.11.2003 14:35 |
Ok, thanks!! |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:36 |
"If Freddie hadn't died, I don't think these rock stars would have been as determined to make the difference they are making. On second thought, this concert definitely wouldn't have even happened if Freddie didn't die of AIDS." Guitar Hero, even if Freddie didnt die of AIDS this kind of concert would've happened anyways. Remember this isnt a TRIBUTE to Freddie. This is a campaign to bring AIDS awareness, and to raise money for the HUGE problem of AIDS in Africa. A continent so Third World due to tons of political, and social conflicts that the economy couldn't still had not been flourished. Due to misinformation, and lack of medicine (AIDS/HIV treatment drugs are not cheap) Africa is one of the leading continent in the world with the highest death count due to AIDS. Whether or not Freddie was alive or still had or never had AIDS is completetly null. This concert still would've happened. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:36 |
the rehearsal was showed by bbc |
Lester Burnham 29.11.2003 14:37 |
Oh goodie, let's all argue about the Queen / Brian + Roger thing again and ruin the good vibes of the concert. While we all respect John's declination from joining Brian and Roger (and certainly respect Freddie's decision to not partake in any of the events of the past twelve years), why don't we respect Brian and Roger for refusing to give up and playing the music they want to play, the way they want to play it? Respect is a double-edged sword, but people are only willing to look at it one way - and their way is the correct way, according to them. Sad to say, but certain Queen fans have to be some of the most narrow-minded ever. |
Ian R 29.11.2003 14:38 |
link The one on the left, then. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:38 |
we're not narrow-minded, we just say it's, well, something different, but it's still good, SO GOOD! Enjoy the show Brian and Roger from Queen (as the announcer called them) are on stage for us1 |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 14:39 |
"the rehearsal was showed by bbc" Right, Queensite. It was just a snippet, Guitar Hero. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:39 |
Oy vey...my comment was toungue and cheek. Please people, get a sense of humour! I just find it funny that people still see Bri and Rog as Queen. I don't think they are Queen, just Bri and Rog, period. |
Mr. Scully 29.11.2003 14:39 |
Now I don't want to offend anybody but does anybody of you like the African songs (like the one which was on 5 minutes ago)? They all sound total crap to me, I'm really looking forward to some real rock. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:40 |
What was the name that Bob Geldof gave Brian, Roger and Stewart? The (something) trio?? |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:41 |
Brian and Roger are connected to AIDS because of Freddie's death, right? I honestly think they wouldn't have been so compelled to organize the concert if Freddie had lived. I'm sure the show itself would've happened at some point, though. That's what I meant. :) |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 14:41 |
Good question, Guitar Hero! And the three of them laughed, as if it was a private joke. Anybody? |
Ian R 29.11.2003 14:41 |
Well said Mr. Burnham. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:42 |
If you didnt like the African music Scully well you didn't. That isnt offensive, you just didnt like it lol |
Rob Taylor Maniac 29.11.2003 14:42 |
Well, I really liked those african songs, it was moving...:-) |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:44 |
Damn, if only I could've seen Jimmy Cliff. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:44 |
I like it Scully, it's good quality world music, and many of these songs, as Johnny Clegg's one, were released when Mandela was in prison, so they have a high meaning for South Africans |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 14:45 |
Nobody remembers what Geldof said? Oh well... we'll find out on the DVD in a couple months. :) |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 14:45 |
while watching..what about going to link to sing the petition or make a donation? C'mon guys, Freddie would love this from US ALL.... |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:46 |
NOOOOOOOOOO! If this pc wasnt bad I would be seeing Jimmy Cliff atm! |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 14:47 |
Maybe I have it on tape, Guitar Hero. I'm not sure when exactly did I press the record button. But I won't check now, I hope you understand :) |
Rien 29.11.2003 14:47 |
The show is great. I really like african music (just wonder why Paul Simon isn't there!). And perhaps one might say that African music is the root of our music? The trio one mentioned above is as I recall Elton John, Rod Stewart and Freddie Mercury, as Hair, Nose & Teeth. |
Rien 29.11.2003 14:49 |

oh my god mama mia Zoe is Sooooooooooooooo HOT I just want to grab those tits and squeeze them. she is so fucking hot, just tell you that. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:53 |
Lester, It isnt about being narrow-minded it is just stating the fact that Queen doesn't exist anymore. Rog and Bri can do whatever they want with it. They are rich, and they own the name. However, they aren't Queen to me. They are just Brian and Roger from Queen. It isn't sad, just reality. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 14:55 |
"just reality" Or maybe, as I would say: just an opinion? The word "reality" seems a little strong to me. Anyhow, that's just my opinion! :) |
pouria 29.11.2003 14:56 |
Rien, I absolutely agree with you. this concert is definately missing some great artists who can give a lot more value and another word that I forgot(?). artists such as Elton John, Paul Simon, McCartney( i know he composed a song but he is not performing in the concert) |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:56 |
I'll be honest here for a second now, I think that there should've been more African musicians in this concert, rather than the well known ones. This concert is for Africa, so I kind of find it disrespectful that more African artists aren't on the bill. |
Ian R 29.11.2003 14:57 |
The Corrs are going to have Roger Taylor?? That will be worth watching! |
L-Jay 29.11.2003 14:58 |
anyone know what time this goes on til. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 14:59 |
Arnaldo of course! Reality is filled with opinions, and mine is there whether is sad to some or not. It's just a POV. :D |
Ian R 29.11.2003 15:00 |
Hey pouria, I think a cold shower might be a good idea... |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:00 |
Great, Shoujo! :D |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 15:01 |
"I might have taped it, Guitar Hero. I'm not quite sure of when did I press the record button. I won't check it now, I hope you understand :)" No problem... :) "This concert is for Africa, so I kind of find it disrespectful that more African artists aren't on the bill." But it's the English musicians who made the concert possible. They get to play just as much as they want. |
Ian R 29.11.2003 15:03 |
Shoujo, they are looking to attain global awareness of the AIDS problems in Africa. That is not going to be achieved by limiting the concert to African artists only. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 15:03 |
the reason is simple: Uk/Us artists have more appeal, have a larger market and audience , and the aim of the show is to attract attention |
Ian R 29.11.2003 15:05 |
Yeah. Wot he said. |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:07 |
Hey people by the way MTV 2 is gonna have 22 Greatests voices today Nov 29 at 4:00 in US Freddie is number 2 . |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 15:09 |
Why on earth are the Corrs in this show? Was Britney busy? :) |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 15:09 |
Ummmm right, k. I don't have a problem with who is on or not. I'm glad that this concert was possible. However, I think that more reputable people should've been on the bill. As far as I know Beyonce doesn't fit. Her new album is out, and I figure that she needs promotion. As far as I know she has never been a relevant cause in the fight against AIDS. About African artists, I think there should've been more about exposing the world to their music and culture, along with the message to educate people about AIDS. I think there should've been more African artists. People over there should have more voices than the few on that bill. |
Mr. Scully 29.11.2003 15:11 |
"This concert is for Africa, so I kind of find it disrespectful that more African artists aren't on the bill" No, I don't agree. This concert is for the rest of the world who will donate money to help fight against AIDS. So they need as many well known artists as possible. If Brian or Roger weren't there, I wouldn't even know about this concert, that's reality. I don't watch MTV and our newspaper mentioned this concert yesterday for the first time. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 15:13 |
wow! drum duet!!! |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 15:13 |
Oh right I forgot, this concert is about attracting attention, not to raise money for less unfortunate people who are dying by the hundreds every day. Silly me. |
Guy 29.11.2003 15:13 |
Yeah, but it's basically nothing... Not like you can hear the drumming and say "That's Roger!" :/ |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:14 |
hey Ian R, cold shower doesn't work for me, i need a woman to make me cold. BTW,who the fuck is britney spears? thank god she is not here.and do you really think she would come allthis way from Hills to south africa to fight AIDS. she's just a fucking comercial pop shit . |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:14 |
Irish Music is, in my opinion, rather crapy- but this, along with a bit of Electric Guitars, is great ! Just bring on the Full Out Rock Music ! |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 15:14 |
attract attention=to raise funds. would you be watching it right now if there were not Queen in it? |
Lester Burnham 29.11.2003 15:15 |
Indeed. As I'm not watching it, I really don't have much room to comment, but think of it this way...if Live Aid hadn't had some of the biggest musicians on the planet, and instead had Ethiopian musicians (the concert was for Ethiopia, if I remember correctly, right?), who would have attended the shows? Would anybody have watched? Would they even had been broadcast? But because they got all those musicians, including such high-profile names as Queen, Led Zep, The Who, Phil Collins, Sting, Bowie, U2, Paul McCartney, etc., people tuned in to watch. And because Bono, Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Brian and Rog, and some more contemporary artists are showing up to help out today, people are watching and are helping to raise money. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:16 |
< No, I probably wouldn't be watching. MAKE THE CALL |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 15:17 |
I dont think it is about the attention, it is all about whats behind it, the cause. Still I think that African artists should've been featured more. It would take the thought out of peoples minds that there is more to Africa than AIDS, famine, and poverty. Now, that's reality. |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:18 |
oh my lord. i hate to say this , but roger is so old guys,he is not the magic tour rager or not even the tribute concert roger, i think he has to retire too. I feel so bad for the oldman when he tries to play drum like the old days. but he is still sexy, handsome roger taylor. |
Lester Burnham 29.11.2003 15:19 |
Think of it this way. Let's say I were to start my own charity concert in order to combat sandstorms plaguing downtown Philadelphia, and announced that I would be the only act for four hours straight. Would anybody really give a toss? People might agree that the sandstorms are a bad thing, and they might donate to help reconstruct our sandy city, but no one will really care if I get up on stage and recite, say, Shakespeare's unabridged works in Swahili. But if I got a whole legion of musicians, every band or artist who ever had a No. 1 hit record between 1955 and present, to perform live at a concert to raise awareness and funds for sandstorms, people will start paying attention and will open up their wallets - not only to help out, but also to see some of their favorite musicians perform. You gotta give a little to make a little. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:21 |
I'm sorry, but I disagree with you. I think Roger still has what it takes the play- his sound today and at Modena this year was great, and the same goes for Party In The Palace last year. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 15:21 |
QS you have a point. And, if Freddie didn't die of AIDS you guys wouldnt give a toss about AIDS. |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:21 |
does any of you guys know when is this concert gonna end? because i'm really getting tired of this african shitty music(i don't wanna be impolite). i just wanna see brian and roger sooing some Queen stuff then shut the computer and goin away. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 15:21 |
Roger in Modena last may was fab, maybe he's only a bit tired...or maybe too many scotches! |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:23 |
to be honest with , I still don't give a damn about AIDS, i'm just here to watch roger and brina, and if freddie hadn't die many thing could have been different. |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 15:24 |
"to be honest with , I still don't give a damn about AIDS" this is one of the WORSE things I've EVER read on this board |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:25 |
More people must think like that (not me). The guy was just honest enough to say so. |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:26 |
i agree with you, i can't believe i just said this. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:27 |
Miss Corr, do you not know about the Magic Tour setlists ? |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 15:27 |
I have a problem with people that use fame for a good cause. Are they really doing it for the cause, or just for the promotion. Of course, I cannot tap into their minds, and read what they are thinking. Of course, they are humans and full with good intentions (Brian and Roger), but there is also the capitalist vehicle of self promition use (i.e. Beyonce IMO). It all depends on your POV. Just a thought. But what can I do, other than just give my opinion on these things. I'm not rich, I'm not famous therefore my personal crusades aren't important :D |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:28 |
there they are, brian and somebody else performing "ITTWWC" |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 15:30 |

Ian R 29.11.2003 15:30 |
What are you talking about wwry2003 ? |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:31 |
Obviously not as good as Freddie, but Andrea did a great job on "ITTWWC". |
Lester Burnham 29.11.2003 15:32 |
Do you know for a fact that Beyonce is doing it solely for promotion? Perhaps one of her relatives died of AIDS and is doing it as a tribute to him or her. Nobody knows for a fact, but let's still criticize her without knowing her true intentions. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:32 |
She said that the last time Queen performed Is This The World We Created was at Live Aid. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:32 |
This thread is going to enter history as the fastest growing one ever :) |
Borhap80 29.11.2003 15:33 |
-A VERY moving ITTWWC !!!! - Beatiful !! - Roger can still play the drums very well. Remember Now I'm Here with the Foo fighters in 97 !! It's 6 years I know, but I think he can still do what he did there. It was fantatic !! |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:34 |
"As you guys may remember, the last time this song was performed, it was in Live Aid" Whattttttt? it's my dream that when people don't know something or are not sure of it, just shut their mouth. I don't think my dream would ever come true.so sad, is this the world we created? |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:34 |
"She said that the last time Queen performed Is This The World We Created was at Live Aid." Well, the last time I drunk water was an hour ago. That doesn't mean I'll dry to death. :) |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:35 |
Oh, silly me, you guys meant the magic tour :) |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:36 |
:-) Surely not long to the "Queen Medley". Who is the bloke on now- he's not that bad considering I've never heard of him. |
Rien 29.11.2003 15:37 |
I think Beyonce is hot at the moment (not only her looks) and that might help her fans to donate. Now this lady can also put the 46664-concert in her books. I think she's being asked to perform (Bri?) and that might be an honour. |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 15:37 |
Thats the thing about fame Lester. We do not know if there is a PR person behind it or rather it is from the good intentions of her heart. I like Beyonce btw. She is one of the few female singers that I like today. |
pouria 29.11.2003 15:38 |
the guy now is singing, who is from South africa, has a beautiful song. i like it. |
Ian R 29.11.2003 15:39 |
Good point Lester, regarding Beyonce. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 15:40 |
"Obviously not as good as Freddie, but Andrea did a great job on "ITTWWC"." Too bad her voice cracked in the last line. Yeah, that speech of hers was definitely unrehearsed, and Brian sat there knowing what she said wasn't true. To be honest, I forgot about the Magic tour! I just thought of the Gorilla benefit concert last year where Brian sang the song himself. |
Rien 29.11.2003 15:41 |
This thread is growing by the minute indeed. I haven't seen the beginning of the show yet, but the part of The Call and TSMGO was the most rocking part so far. I think I've heard Brian say that the show will end with some Queen stadium singalongs? Rock it, boys. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:42 |
"To be honest, I forgot about the Magic tour! I just thought of the Gorilla benefit concert last year where Brian sang the song himself." I forgot about the Gorilla Benefit. Well observed Guitar Hero. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:43 |
"I just thought of the Gorilla benefit concert last year where Brian sang the song himself." BTW, anybody has a recording of that? |
QueenSite 29.11.2003 15:43 |
c'mon, don't be tragic if she made a mistake about when the song was last performed |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 15:46 |
We're not being tragic. We're just noting it. :) "BTW, anybody has a recording of that?" I have an mpeg video of it, from TV. They just broadcast part of the song, and an interview with Brian May. Also in the file is the version of CLTCL with Bryan Adams. That was pretty cool. Anyone know how long the 46664 concert is supposed to be???? I heard 3 hours, but obviously it's much longer!! |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:46 |
I think a compliment must go to the people responsible for the webcast. My connection was not broken even once. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 15:48 |
Hey, Guitar Hero! How about putting a copy of that in the hub? If you're not on the hub you could perhaps make it available to somebody that is on the hub, so that everyone could have it? |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 15:48 |
"Anyone know how long the 46664 concert is supposed to be???? I heard 3 hours, but obviously it's much longer!!" I haven't got a clue- I read somewhere it was going to be around 2.5 to 3 hours. So far, we're nearer to 4 hours and the best part is yet to come :) |
Ian R 29.11.2003 15:49 |
The connection is indeed very good - I have not yet seen the dreaded 'Buffering' sign flash up, not even once. Having Broadband helps though! |

MuchMusic in Canada is showing a special at 9pm on Monday, but it may be the MTV feed, obviously making it at 9pm on MTV as well. Why don't you check the MTV website for a program listing? |

Nope, it's not WATC. That will probably be later on. |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 16:00 |
Not a Queen song.. blahhhh |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 16:00 |
Did they say it'd be WATC for sure? Well, considering the event, they'd be stupid not to play the biggest hits. They played one obscure one, now they'll probably just play WWRY, WATC and GaGa/BreakFree. |
pouria 29.11.2003 16:01 |
oh, for a second i thought Zuc is gonna sing WRTC or BohRap. i was shocked. but if they do , it's gonna be amazing. pleaze, do it roger, Bri. |

Luckily not for sure, but I've got a feeling it will be played. I might be wrong, you just never know. |

Borhap80 29.11.2003 16:05 |
Say what u want about Zucchero, but he gave a great performance there, the best in an hour now... !! |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 16:05 |
Guy, you fool !!!! Only joking- I'm sure someone has recorded it from the webcast, or will take it from the ZDF coverage tonight. Brian sounded great during that track. |
Mr. Scully 29.11.2003 16:05 |

Ian R 29.11.2003 16:06 |
Mr. Scully - have you tried Media Player? |
Saffron Caribou 29.11.2003 16:08 |
*Has a epileptic attack when thinking about Zucchero's performance of Las Palabras De Amor at the Freddie Tribute* *foams at the mouth* *twitches* *wakes up from the attack* BTW Scully why dont you use Windows Media Player *goes back to the attack* |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 16:10 |
"Strangely enough, the picture quality has just drastically improved but I can't hear any sound now. I guess I can't have everything [sigh]." This is a historic moment. Me, little poor Ogre- that I am, have got a hold of something Queen-related that Mr. Scully still doesn't have. :)) |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2003 16:10 |
I thought about Las Palabras too. Wasn't too brilliant, was it? On that link, it says the broadcasts of the shows are 5 hours apart... so I suppose that could mean the concert itself is 5 hours long. Dammit, I'll miss Brian and Roger. I'll I can say is I hope they show Bri and Rog on MuchMusic on Monday! |
Mr. Scully 29.11.2003 16:11 |
The Media Player version didn't work for me, I don't know why. Anyway, I restarted RealPlayer and returned back to "normal situation", that's a 4 kBs sound and a great picture consisting of 1 frame per 4 seconds. |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 29.11.2003 16:12 |
I tried both Media Player and Real Player, and ended up with the last one. |
Q-Nick 29.11.2003 16:14 |

As many has mentioned : The singers except Chris Thompson has the power to sing those songs... (Anastacia was ok though..) -To use a FABBA girl is dumb !!! She didnt do the song anything IMO... !!! - This only shows that they need a STRONG front vocalist, and NO Brian and Roger are not that for a whole gig... - Jeff Scott Soto has the power... - Chris Thompson... (Was ok today, he can do much better...) But then again... A great night, the only problem is the vocalist choices.... ..... |

Musically very good- like the performances at Modena and Party At The Palace, Brian, Roger (along with a very good "house band", two of whom have played with Bri and Rog before) showed they can still rock. Anastasia impressed me- don't like her one bit- but she was good on WWRY and WATC. Zucchero was alright, but I think he could have been better. One question- what was the woman doing singing Break Free. She did not know those words, and caused the band to play a few more bars. Overall, a great performance musically, but vocally there is still a problem. Jeff Scott Soto should have been there. |

Hello. I've managed to capture the windows media high-quality (150 kbits) webcast by 46664.com. I've recorded it in a single 464 MB wmv sercheable file which runs for 5 hours, 23 minutes and 47 seconds, with 32 kHz audio in stereo plus 280 x 156 video at an acceptable frame rate. This comprises most of the show and related stuff, but unfortunately it misses the end of Amandla, the middle-end of BoRhap and has several cuts on Radio Ga Ga (damn Murphy's Law!). The rest of the streaming is fine, except for a very little cut during one of Mr. K's (was his name Jimmy?) songs. If someone has a good recording of the last part of the webcast but misses some of the rest, please contact me privately for a trade. My e-mail is wilkiamieva@fibertel.com.ar. Many thanks. Cheers! |

won't you simply post it on the hub? |

No for the moment. Who will want to download a 5-hour 464 MB file which misses parts of the grand finale? |

Is it just me, or does almost every article have the headline "Bono and Beyonce", rather than Bri, Rog and Dave, who organized the entire thing? Bri and Rog played the most out of anyone at the show, and they're mentioned in the 8th paragraph. But when you think about it, if they want people to read the article, they have to mention first who's big right now. That's pop culture for you. |
Daburcor? 29.11.2003 23:07 |
"That's pop culture for you." Yup. Fucking morons... |
Pim Derks 29.11.2003 23:22 |
I thought they played very well, too bad they still think they need all those guestvocalists. I liked The Call, except for the "There will be no law for..." part - but the heavy guitar stuff at the start is f*cking fab, the best stuff in years :-P |
FriedChicken 29.11.2003 23:51 |
i agree that they played great. And i'm glad that they chose to play with talented people this time, instead of crappy pop acts |
Guy 29.11.2003 23:54 |

joep the rocker 30.11.2003 00:00 |
'too bad they still think they need all those guestvocalists' Sigh, not only they think that..everybody except some people on this board agree on that one. They are bad lead vocalists. You might have a soft spot for Bri's voice but realize that they have to sing fe. Somebody to love, innuendo and these are the days if they are going to tour and believe me they are not even remotely capable of singing those songs let alone play along at the same time. Why is it so hard to admit Brians voice sucks! He cant sing! Wake up. |
The Real Wizard 30.11.2003 00:46 |
Both Brian and Roger have great voices. They're obviously not as good as they used to be, but they can still belt it out in their respected styles. Listen to the recording of the London 11-24-01 show, if you can track it down. There is certainly enough Queen and solo material within their singing boundaries to put on a damn good concert/tour. |
Q-Nick 30.11.2003 05:12 |
Too bad I'm not part of the Hub- I've got a feeling the Queen related tracks which Guy hasn't uploaded will be online in the Hub :( |
QueenSite 30.11.2003 05:18 |
on the hub there's only the Zucchero song, beside Guy's tracks, don't worry, but there's some video sneaking! |
Q-Nick 30.11.2003 05:20 |
"on the hub there's only the Zucchero song, beside Guy's tracks, don't worry, but there's some video sneaking!" That's alright then :). If someone has managed to Rip the Video and Audio and puts it onto DVD/CD, I'll be very happy ! Just looked at the ZDF version of the show that was televised last night: I've only got the first three hours (it was meant to be that long)- I think they showed the WHOLE show (with some very annoying German translation on top of the English!!). If only VH1/MTV networks could do the same. |
Pim Derks 30.11.2003 05:55 |
ZDF indeed showed the full show - I stayed up until the end (5 am) - didn't want to miss anything... |
The Man On The Prowl 30.11.2003 06:04 |
GREAT SHOW! I have to say that I got more and more amazed at every song Queen started to play. The medey was great, amazing at every song, like fireworks! Ok someone forgot the words in Break Free but the medley in its whole was a great live compilation of the best of Queen. Anyway the happiest choice, which was also the most moving for me, was performing Is This The World We Created with Andrea Corr. |
Q-Nick 30.11.2003 07:53 |
"Yes, a great concert, but why did the surviving members of Queen have to fill up almost a full half hour? I mean, where was Justin Timberlake? Where was Britney, where was Christina Aguilera, where was Madonna!? " Comment from the 46664 Messageboard. |

I saw the show again, last night on ZDF, after having it seen on the internet. Too bad all the original interviews and spoken word was overdubbed by just 1 German voice. Rather annoying. It was great though that they showed the whole concert. |
The Man On The Prowl 30.11.2003 10:42 |
Yes, but at least they did not speak on the music like they did for the Jubilee! It would be nice to find a transcript of the interviews to Brian, Roger, Annie Lennox, and of the words Andrea Corrs says before singing Is This The World We Created... If anyone knows where to find these transcripts, please, let us know. |
Kenneth E. Sandvær 30.11.2003 10:53 |

I only saw the first two hours or something, then my vcr quit. I thought I'd be smart to tape the whole thing from ZDF and get some sleep at the same time. Next time, I'll stay up all night. Now I've missed the medley and Amandla, damn!!! Say it ain't true was beautifull by the way, it stays in my head all the time! The Call was great too, great powerfull guitar! When is it coming on dvd/cd? |
Penetration_Guru 30.11.2003 15:56 |
Geldof descibed them as "Fun Bag Three", a variation on Fun Boy Three, erstwhile Bananarama collaborators. He also summed up my view on Zucchero, when he said that there seemed to be no avoiding him.... Other than that I enjoyed it - I think some of you were a little harsh about IWTBF - to me it looked like the mic wasn't switched on, a problem which Annie Lennox & (I assume) Peter Gabriel had. Thompson & Treana sounded ok on TSMGO, whichever Fabba was on it didn't. I thought I spotted Josh Macrae taking a turn on the bongos at one point, and whoever it was also started WWRY on Roger's kit. Not sure when they switched. Anyone know who played bass? The credits did say but were a little quick and only one a quarter of a PC screen. Which reminds me, I was wrong about the webcast. Extremely stable, and I recorded everything I would have wanted to. All I have to do now is edit it into the relevant chunks. And that interviewer woman was so stupid that I remembered Lisa I'Anson's "performance" at the FM tribute. WHy do MTV not learn that their "VJs" (I assume that's her usual function) can't exist without autocue? |
Penetration_Guru 30.11.2003 15:59 |
Oh yeah, and how pointless was Roger guesting with The Corrs? They have a drummer. Guest with U2, they didn't bring theirs... |

The bass player was Steve Stroud from the SAS Band. He was the 3rd more or less regular SAS Band member on stage together with Spike and Jamie Moses. Concerning the German voice over: please remember that the ZDF is a public TV station and broadcasts for a German audience. Many Germans understand English but all pay their TV bills and they want to understand what is spoken. In a live broadcast there is no other way, you have to do a live voice over. |
goinback 30.11.2003 18:04 |
It sure is ridiculous that here in the US we get hundreds of TV channels, yet we can't even watch a concert. That's technology for ya ;) Has any VCD-quality video of this show shown up on the hub yet? Brian and Roger sing fine on the songs they originally recorded vocals on IMHO, but the range of some of the others is too much for most singers. |
joep the rocker 30.11.2003 18:50 |
Guitar hero i dont agree with you at all. The concert you refer to was boring and musically inferior to the 46664 gig. If R&B will sing theirselves the quality will be as in ga ga and noone but you, under pressure and tie your mother down in Amsterdam: Boring, nervous and sometimes off key. Actually I think all the queen gigs after Freddie's dead were below their standards. The 46664 did renew my passion for queen wich had been fading lately. They played great and looked really relaxed. I liked all the guest vocalists and imo Brians playing is superior when he doesnt have to sing. Imo we saw a glimpse of how great they still are if only they stick to their talents. I have said it many times before and i will repeat it again: except for some people on this board most people think brian cant sing. I can remember a gig of him in Groningen where some people where making fun of his voice in the toilet. And not without reason. He sang off key a lot and his voice sounded really thin. Although i like his voice from time to time i must admit that i get a little nervous whenever he is singing. Dont get me wrong i am not trying to be negative. I am actually really excited about the 46664 gig and for the first time since Freddies death i really hope they will tour again. I only hope brian will stick to vocals on one or two songs and that Roger will shape up. |

Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 30.11.2003 21:49 |
"I think some of you were a little harsh about IWTBF - to me it looked like the mic wasn't switched on" That's half of what has happened. The mike seemed to have a problem, ok. But then she was so nervous with it that she forgot the lyrics. I wouldn't. ;) Cheers, Ogre- |
joep the rocker 30.11.2003 23:22 |
'But then she was so nervous with it that she forgot the lyrics. I wouldn't' You dont know shit about performing with cameras focussing on you and thousands of people watching. I'll bet you would even forget your own name if you would ever have the change to be on stage with R&B, LOL. SO the singer forgot some lyrics: shit happens. Freddie forgot his lyrics all the time. I am a fan of Bruce Dickinson and its a miracle if he actually gets through one song without messing up the lyrics. Those things happen: guitars wont work, singers will mess up, strings break.... In the end they worked it out without messing up and thats the important thing. If you dont like mistakes, then dont listen to live shows and definitely dont ever listen to queen bootlegs cause there are numerous examples of them messing up. |
The Real Wizard 01.12.2003 01:14 |
Nice post about Bri/Rog, Joep. You definitely have a good perspective on these things. "thousands of people watching" Thousands? Try hundreds of millions, and more! |
Fenderek 01.12.2003 03:27 |
All in all: didn't like the thing... IMO only The Call and Say It's Not True were good- obviously because sang by Brian or Roger... Couldn't Brian sing We Will Rock You? He's doing it pretty well!!! And the rest... WTF? We all knew after Freddie Tribute thing that it's extremely difficult to find ppl who actually CAN sing Queen- and remember that the bill then was much stronger: Plant, Daltrey, Hetfield, G.Michael, Stansfield, even Seal... they (mostly) disappointed!!! So who thought that Beyonce or all those "artist" in 46664 thing were actually capable of doing it??!!! QueenMedley was a disaster for me... |
Arnaldo "Ogre-" Silveira 01.12.2003 06:19 |
"You dont know shit about performing with cameras focussing on you and thousands of people watching." And unfortunatelly I also know nothing about making jokes, or you about understanding them. :) Of course that was a joke, buddy. ;) Cheers, Ogre- PS: By the way, "shit happens", you're right. Hopefully everyday. :) |

I spent the whole night watching it with some friends and the overall opinion was like "puuuuh, will they finally finish?" "When is Moloko on?" "I wanna see the talented Mr May, so shut up and play the guitar dude!" "When is Moloko on?" "That Taylor chap looks like my granddad." "What the fuck do they need two or even three drummers at a time for?" "Maybe Taylor needs some help?" "He doesn't look happy at all..." "When is Moloko on?" "Why doesn't Gabriel finish the song when it's long over?" "Yes, we know the melody now... stop singin it again and again" "He looks like a Monk" "when is Moloko on?" "I'd rather dance to Paul Oakenfold's beats again." "Why are there so many old people?" - "Because they said they wanted to reach today's youth." "Jimmy Cliff? He's alive?" "When is Moloko on?" "What the fuck is that instrument Dave Stewart is playing?" "Looks like a synthesizer from the 1950s" During TSMGO an Irish girl entered the room and said "that's a great song! It's from Moulin Rouge, isn't it?" Maybe it was because of all the Gin and Martini, but I thought the show was incredibly boring, without real highlights, and though generelly I like Queen to play many songs, I didn't like how they tried to turn it into a Queen show in the end... I understand they have to play the same shit again and again, at least there were some surprises, but why not play whole songs instead? Say it ain't true was wonderful, Rog sang very well. But he looked very sad playing the drums and not relaxed at all. Not to mention that Brian looked ridiculous as ever with this red thing round his neck. What's the point of playing IWTBF since no-one is able to sing it properly? It sounded bad in the glory days and it sounded much worse now. ITTWWC was nice, as was TSMGO, but the rest was boring, tame and not well rehearsed. There was nothing that blew my mind. Also very very boring speeches in between the acts, the content was obviously always the same. Funny, when Bri and Rog were interviewed, the lady didn't know Roger's name... Brian May and.... the other gentleman... hahaha. |
