Give what you can to AmFar, EJAF, GMHC and Mercury Phoenix Trust -- 40 Million that's just too many!
Chilling because if your remember what George Michael said just before he performed "Somebody to Love" at the Tribute Concert for FM, the statistics came true! How frightening is that! Give to 46664 as well. Life is too short to suffer with AIDs the way Freddie Mercury did.

On economacally developed nations, people have been told through media how dangerous AIDS is and what should have been done to prevent it. Although it's still a major problem, all the prevention campaigns have made people more aware of the disease.
In Africa, the story is a lot worse. Most people live in such a low level of poverty that they have no idea what is this disease that is killing their people. I think that's the major concern of the 46664 cause.
I recently watched an episode of the TV newsmag called "In the Life," a program aimed at the gay community, a la 60 Minutes. At the end of each episode, Harvey Fierstein provides a short commentary on some issue regarding homosexuality in America.
In this recent commentary, Fierstein claimed there were too many positive gay role models because it had made having HIV/AIDS a "chic" thing to have. He said he knew of too many young people who thought of HIV/AIDS as a right of passage in America.
Now, whether he is overstating the problem or not, I do not know. But the fact that he is mentioning it in a public forum like that tells me it is happening to some degree. Unfortunate.
Zeni -- I truly hope you are wrong! My goodness have America's youth become that stupid! It's a damn shame! No wonder this is a "lost generation"!
