He approved the wording. He may not have been made aware when it was to be released, but he was aware that when the time came, it would be.
In other words he didn't get a phone call to say "we're putting out that statement tonight", but he had a conversation previously along the lines of "when it's close, release this statement"
At least that's the understanding.
I am of the understanding that Jim Beach met with Freddie and they both agreed on the statement and the wording and when it would be released, although Freddie was reluctant to do so, he did do it willingly.
I believe jim Hutton. Cause............ HE WAS THERE! And he was his lover. Beach is just a manager who thinks in dollars. No disrespect meant but i do think Hutton is the most relyable man when it comes to Freddie's last days (i havent read his book by the way).
Didn't Jim Hutton write that Freddie said "soon the whole world will know" or something like that shortly before it was released? So I figured he knew that it was going to be released. Maybe he didn't know exactly when.
I don't really know what to think about Jim Hutton. I haven't read the whole book, just parts of it. But I don't like the fact that he published their private life and details of Freddie's illness. Privacy was the most important thing to Freddie and I don't think he would've liked it.
But I believe that what he wrote is true.
Hutton claims in the book that FM dies in his arms, or something (it's not a book to read twice...). This is a complete fabrication, unfortunately, based on all other accounts.
Which calls into question the accuracy of lots of other bits.
I think he writes that Freddie died while Hutton was helping him to change the linens and his trousers and I don't want to go on about this but Hutton tells all the details. Anyway, Freddie wanted to help Jim and make it easier for him and lifted one leg and according to Jim that was the last thing Freddie did.
I don't know if I should believe it or not.
He also didn't write one good thing about Mary and that Mary wasn't there that often, Mary said she was there everyday.
But one thing that I can't get out of my head is, if Freddie was so close to Jim and trusted him so much and all that, why did he leave all his millions to Mary? He must have had his reasons and I think this says all, doesn't it?
I heard somewere, i believe on the docu FM the untold story, that he wasnt even there when he died.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but thats what i thought i heard.
People said that he died alone but I don't know where that rumour came from.
There are too many rumours about this and I always find it quite pointless to discuss it because I don't think we'll ever know all the truth.
It's no big deal anyway, I don't give a damn who was there when he died or what were his last words.
Jim's book is too much into details and in many spots it's like a tabloid but it's hard to blame him. He's a kind person and although he doesn't openly admit it, it's obvious both Jim and Peter still blame Mary for how she took over Garden Lodge. I'm sure the book was partially a revenge and I understand him.
