I had a quite nice dream... QP released box set; they put out the "live" one, and the idea was, that each year (1973-86) was represented by one gig. Nice dream, I have to tell you...! When I woke up I just couldn't help myself but thinking about this, and wandering which shows would I like to have released this way...
Let's have fun!!! It's not about if it's going to happen or anything like this, just pure fun. Choose one show (only one!), the best from each year.
Agreed - I also think our choice for 73 is more limited than QPs, so hopefully there's an even better one they could use that we haven't heard.
Of course, that could be the case for every tour.
Anyway, I'd change a couple - something from South America in 81, and not Knewbworth (shock) - I like Mannheim personally.
Of course this box will never actaully happen now, but thinking about it - wouldn't this be a good one to start with? We assume the studio boxes are on hold because B+R are too busy (Greg I think has had an approximate format ready to go for nearly 3 years now!), but the live boxes would take much less time to organise, wouldn't they? Just pick some concerts, Richard Gray will design it, job done....
I'd like to take some different shows: one of the south america gigs of the '81 (maybe baires 03.08), one of the wembley concerts in the '84, budapest in the '86, milton keynes in the '82, earl's court in the '77, and one of tokyo's in the '85 (05.09, i think).
I'd also change Nagoya '82. The Tour was almost to an end and the band was very tired. Queen has done lots of better performances in 1982. I'd change it for one of the Vienna Shows, or one of the Edinburgh shows.
I also agree they should include something we haven't heard
For example from ANATO 1975 tour to give us the first night of it (and so first performance of about 4 songs) instead of he hammersmith odeon concert we all have
