The worst disgrace ever to a Queen song
| geeksandgeeks 19.11.2003 18:39 |
Actually, I thought this was very progressive on the part of the candidate, but I was disgusted all the same. And he's a hypocrite. I was poring through one of my beloved Al Franken books yestersy and came across part of the chapter on Republican presidential candidates from 1996. Apparently, Pat Buchanan (a psychopathic conservative who believes that God made the world in six days and he didn't put gays in it either) enters the room to "We will Rock You". Holy moly. I challenge anyone to think of a worse disgrace to a song. What did the band ever do to ask for this??? |

didn't they play a Queen song on the day Bush became president? i think it was Don't Stop me Now. Liar would've been better, or Death on Two Legs |
| deleted user 19.11.2003 21:26 |
LOL!!! Yeah... I agree, jeez, bush isn't too smart :/ i really don't like the dude... |
| Saint Jiub 19.11.2003 22:16 |
At least he did not disgrace a Fleetwood Mac song ... The Bush eviction clock would be a good thing, if the Democrats could field a decent moderate candidate. Looks like the Democratic candidate will be a slave to either the unions or to pick-up driving klansmen. Unfortunately the Libertarians are not a reasonable option and there won't be a decent independant candidate either. I guess I'll just have to hold my nose and vote for the Halliburton (sic?) presidential candidate. |

"didn't they play a Queen song on the day Bush became president?" Did they? Oh god, that IS a disgrace!!!! "i think it was Don't Stop me Now." Well, it turned out to be suitable when you think about the war. Almost all the world was against it but no one could really stop Mr. Bush from attacking Iraq. Everywhere in the world people went out on the streets and he just looked at them with such an ignorance! A**hole! "Liar would've been better, or Death on Two Legs" Would've been PERFECT! I hate him! |
| The Man On The Prowl 20.11.2003 04:56 |
We Will Rock You was also used as an encouraging anthem for the troops in Iraq. I think that is the worst ever, if you consider the ideas of the author of the song about war. 'Almost all the world was against it' Not really Sonja... If this wrong stupid war has started it's not only because of Bush, Blair, Miller and Berlusconi but also because of a lot of people who kept on believing it was the right thing to do. |
| Sonja 20.11.2003 05:41 |
It was used to encourage the troups? I didn't know that either! "Not really Sonja... If this wrong stupid war has started it's not only because of Bush, Blair, Miller and Berlusconi but also because of a lot of people who ignorantly kept on believing it was the right thing to do." I know, that's why I said "almost". :-) We could say there were more people against the war than there were people supporting the war. Look at all the demonstrations everywhere! And even today there are still people out on the streets in London! But this wasn't the topic, was it? |

Rolf Harris sing Bohemian Rhapsody, he should be taken out and shot. |
| Jjeroen 20.11.2003 09:09 |
The WWRY-Iraq thing is true. They also used to play Another One Bites The Dust while dropping bombs. I also saw some pictures of bombs that had the words AOBTD written on them. |
| Saffron Caribou 20.11.2003 09:35 |
I agree with Jeroen. That's totally fucked up! |

I believe Labour used We Are The Champions at some party conference in the past. I think Kinnock was involved so obviously it was never sung in triumph. Dreamer's Ball would be more apt. Ahh the good old days. Mind you only in a world so shitty could a man beaten in an election by John Major (during a recession) get a top job in the EU. |
| goinback 21.11.2003 02:24 |
Dr. Laura (another conservative homophobe) was using "Friends Will Be Friends" as her bumper music awhile back. I think that was the same time she was referring to homosexuals as "biological errors". But apparently the biological error isn't severe enough to prevent one from making music Dr. Laura likes lol If Freddie Mercury was a biological error, then I say make some more errors :) |
| iGSM 21.11.2003 02:41 |
Ahh, the boy from Bassendean. I punched ol' Rolf in the face for that little error. Not due to him being from Bassendean but for having that wobble board of his. I'd have to say the recent use of 'I Want it All' in a car ad of some sorts. I was too angry to remember the name seeing as the original is a lot more...original. Why Freddie would be turning in his urn at this point in time! |
| Penetration_Guru 21.11.2003 05:44 |
You sure about that? I believe IWTBF was licensed to Shell during Freddie's lifetime. Maybe he didn't have as much of a problem as you think he should... And Argos are currently using AKOM. |
| Brian's sweet sister 21.11.2003 14:13 |
"And Argos are currently using AKOM" Isn't AKOM featured on the INDEX advert? Argos adverts have got Richard E Grant on them, I don't think they'd have AKOM as well. I'm sure it's INDEX. |
| Mr Coolest Cat 21.11.2003 17:08 |
Just saw the very worst tonight on BBC tv, Shane Ritchie singing We will rock you, i've heard better when the pubs are turning out. |

"I think that was the same time she was referring to homosexuals as "biological errors"." Please don't kill me for this, but what she said is true. In nature a male and a female are created mate with each other. If a male wants to mate with a male, it's an error made by the nature. I'm not talking about gay rights and that kind of stuff now, only about the biological thing. And of course Freddie wasn't an error, the error was that little thing that made him gay. Please don't get furious, this is my point of view. I'd also like to add that most of us are to some extent errors or have erros. People with allergies or some other diseases have errors that cause troubles. To make this post 100% stupid and pointless I'll say that all people have errors made by the nature. |
| geeksandgeeks 21.11.2003 21:56 |
Acytually, the Democrats have produced some very good candidates. George Will is very worried. |
| Josuè 22.11.2003 16:11 |
"I challenge anyone to think of a worse disgrace to a song. What did the band ever do to ask for this???" I'm from Spain, and during the dictature, Franco used to salutate as Hitler did with their arms... Well, there're discos where "fascist" boys make a file and salutate as Hitler and Franco did while the song WWRY sounds... that's terrible. |
| geeksandgeeks 22.11.2003 18:06 |
Pat Buchanan is a Nazi lover. We're even. |
| The Man On The Prowl 23.11.2003 13:46 |
Statistically speaking an error is something which differs from the avarage value. Since the avarage value for mankind is being attracted by the other sex, satistically speaking gays and lesbians can be considered errors. But this could sound quite nazis, and more importantly homos could feel offended to be called 'errors', so every politician should avoid to use these terms... |
| Simoriah 23.11.2003 17:49 |
AKOM is used on a Park Christmas hamper thingy advert. |
| Wilki Amieva 26.11.2003 11:14 |
! Firstly, I should say I'm not gay nor bisexual (as far as I know). I can't believe all this nonsense about homosexuals being 'errors'. Being a palaeontology student I can tell that it's very tricky to say what Nature intends or doesn't. In fact, it seems that there's no purpose at all in Nature. At least Science has no proofs of that purpose (I believe this is when Religion enters the game). E.g: Did Nature intend you to drink Coca-Cola? Yes? Why? No? Are you sure? Without a trace of doubt? As for the the statistical theory, it needs to enlighten several points. You know, almost all of us differ from the mean of the population in EACH of every biological parameter, that's why the standard deviation is one of the most useful calculations (and not only in biometry works). Secondly, in how many classes did you opt to divide the population? Which ones did you choose? You must be aware of the concept of "homosexual tendencies", which might be measurable, so I guess this is not a case of 0 or 1. And bisexuals, how do they enter your equations? Strictly speaking, the only thing that can be said is that "having more heterosexual tendencies than homosexual ones appears to be the mode for this or that population nowadays". ...And there you have it! |

The worst to me is We are the champions in a Viagra comercial, (in canada) and somebody to love in a tire comercial, not song by queen and was horrible. ugh and yes i am canadian and dissapointed by those comercials Bah...hehe |
| Anto 27.11.2003 08:06 |
The Phone Comercial on Irish TV station RTE with some idiot taking of Freddie in I want to Break Free. The guy singing really sucked. Typical Irish add. Everything over here really stinks. Everything you hear or see on radio/TV goes way past the point of cheese. *shudders* |
| geeksandgeeks 27.11.2003 08:47 |
You really should post more often, Wilki. |
| Wilki Amieva 27.11.2003 10:49 |
Thanks, Miss Lowell. |
| Freddie-B 27.11.2003 12:51 |
The worst disgrace to a Queen song is Calling All Girls. Simply because it's so awful. |
